What do you else do you want on the psp?

i have made this thread beacuse we can list all the things that you want on the psp, here's a few that i thought of:

word processor-for typing on the go
attachable camera-seems that the psp should have one!

I want a GPS unit for it. So i can go to Goodwood FOS next year on my own and not get lost trying to find my way back to the train station.

Why do you want a camera? Come on... you stupid..
It's a GAMING handheld.. >_>

Sorry to tell you be if you notice the position of the usb port and the fact thet there are screw holes tells you a camera is very possible. But it would be a good idea seeing you can view photos, why not make them too??

Agreed, and if it was only a GAMING handheld then all it would be set to do is ONLY play games. I want to get me a PSP, but not yet. Waiting to see how the HD PSP does at its release.

I think a camera and some sort of IM service built into the PSP would be pretty sweet. Even a rudimentary cell phone would be cool, but I am sure it would be quite costly.

My view of camera's: If you want to take photos, buy a camera. Why would Sony do that? Then people buy a PSP to game, and they can take photos. Then people won't buy a camera becaus it's already in their PSP.. If Sony would do it, then the PSP cost much more then needed..

PSP is for gaming, and the MP3 option is handy for in a train and if your are not in the mood for gaming you can listen MP3's and Movies in a verry cheap way.. I don't really see the option for photos, I only have porn photos on them and show them to my class or something..

There is a kind of a webcam and digi cam coming out for it in the future.

No, read it again..
'Mainly based on search query analyses on I4U, I found out several features people want to see available on the PSP.'
Yeah, I mean that that website is making a probability of them things appearing.

"Below I go into detail on each of those thought-after PSP functionalities and my take on the probability of them becoming a reality."

Neocrox, you dont have a general opinion, you have a personal one, so debating is pointless. To say a camera is stupid is a very shallow way of thinking.IF its an addon its no problem.DDR's floor mat controller doesnt ruin ps2 or make it a dance machine, Dont knock other poeples opinions because you dissagree, it just makes you look bad and from what I've read from you you provide positive and usefull insights.

I would buy a camera addon for $50. 2-3 megapixel that is. PSP's screen would make on hell of a view finder :).

I hope they can be add-ons to your existing PSP because I can't afford a new one.
They should make the things so you can take one of and put another on as you wish. They would definately sell more this way than making a new PSP.

I'm pretty sure i read about some sort of camera being in development, never noticed the screw holes before but yeah, i guess your right. Also if you go to photo --> memory stick there's a se[arate category 'Digital Camera Images', this may be to transfer images via
USB on the go from a normal Digital camera like my MP3 player or it may in fact be in aiting for the the addon.

There's three factors which must be satisfied before i'd buy it,

1. High quality 2+ Megapixel (match or better K750's)
2. Relatively low price (no more than £50, preferabbly the same price as a game £35)
3. Me having money to burn (quite likely :P)

One downfall of any add-on equipment is that there is high chance of it needing a firmware upgrade, so homebrewers :(

Edit - Oh yeah, id like to see it support Excel spreadsheets.

Well, for me a camera on the PSP is quite useless.. The PSP would get verry heavy and I guess the price would be much higher.. And using it as a webcam? Most people put it on their monitor or on something high, and webcams fall of sometimes, so using the PSP as a webcam is not that safe.. But that is just making a bug an oliphant..

And what I would like to see.. err..
An onboard HDD, becaus now I ordered a €205 4GB for it, while Sony could easily put 20GB's in it..

And I think most of you guys would like this:
Put other body's on your PSP, like you can take of the black one and put a blue one on.

Small digital camera's aren't heavy and they wont fall off easily because it looks as if they're clipped into the holes in the front of the PSP.

Edit: The same with the webcam too.

I think he meant the PSP could easily fall from the top of a PC monitor, a common place to put webcams.

Not really sure about having a hard drive, i can see the advantage of it making into a more complete PMP (portable media player), but lugging a HD around with an already largeish PSP would be a bit of a pain, (as would a camera tbh) i'l just stick with 1GB flash for now.

I think the camera would be neat and fairly functional, not unlike a cell phone camera. It's on you most of the time so you're not without a camera for those unlikely occassions. I don't think it's necessary nor do I think it'd be wise to have it built in as that'd raise the already costly price--the PSP's primary weakness in the market.

As for body/skins: they already exist. This company makes them for PS2, Xbox, GBA, GB DS, and the PSP. They are vinyl skins that can go on over the existing parts so it doesn't involve actually switching plates, but it customizes the colors nonetheless.

I don't think HDD are particularly practical. When I think about it, an iPod has anywhere from 1GB to 20GB or so for music and photos. Now, I don't know about you, but I don't even have that much music or photos to take that up. With a PSP I can play movies, but unless it's say both Star Wars Trilogies, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and the Matrix trilogy, I won't need that much space for movies. How many times would I watch all those movies anyway? With lower resolution for the PSP's screen, most movies don't take up too much space. That said, if they could produce HDDs cheapishly, there could be a small market for it. But I'm not crossing my fingers looking at the prices for 1GB and 2GB memory sticks.

You can replace the battery for a HDD..
Datel released their 4Gb HDD wich is also 2 times stronger then the normal battery..

The 2Gb Memory stick is €205. This 4Gb HDD is also €205.. I'm going to buy it, I hope the weight is quite the same..

In japan you can buy a tv tuner memory stick attachment to turn it into a portable TV.........thats what I want!!!!!!!

First thought I had.

And a Sat Nav system for the car...
A camera (as mentioned)
Taser.
Mobile phone :dopey:

Why do you want a PSP that could function as a phone.. I don't want to be seen with such a big thing on my head..

Some people wouldn't mind holding such a large thing against their heads. Some wired phones now are about same size and people still use them. Years ago mobile phones were huge and we still used them.

But then again, I know where you're coming from...
