What has PD ever done for us?

So you want the whole game redesigned?
While what has been released is a disappointing it is a functioning game with no huge errors making it unplayable.

Sadly these days there seems to be a rush the product out and patch later mentality (Tdu2, Black-ops, almost anything from EA) PD are just following the lead.

GT5 already had 5 years development and yet its a rushed game...

They'll shut up and play it when they feel satisfied with what they've paid for.

Quite frankly that is rubbish since there are a million different people complaining about a million different things, so whose 'standard' are we going by? Yours, mine, Joe Soap's?
Fact is that unless PD create 'personalised' versions of the game for every single complainer those complaints will just continue.👎

When it's a game that's been in development for about a year, then you can maybe see the reason why it may need patched to iron out a problem or two. When a game has been in development for 5 years and needs 6 patches in the first 3 months which still haven't fixed all the problems, it's time to start questioning the developers ability to deliver a quality product.

Im sure most people who are complaining would be happy with :

More A-Spec races
More premium cars

Anything else after that would be bonus.

People who dont like threads like this should understand that what we want is a better product because we like Gran Turismo. If we didnt like it as much as we do, it would have been part exchanged, sold or left on the shelf and none of us would have an account here.

I was a GT fan until this version. I bought my PS3 solely for this game and while i am disappointed i still have 'some' faith that the patches and DLC will make this the game i waited 4 years for.

You have the same exact mind set as I do. These are the reasons why I'm still hanging around here. I may be disappointed with this game NOW, but I haven't given up on GT5 and I still believe it will get better through updates to the point I will really enjoy it again. I criticize this game because I want it to be the game a lot of people were expecting it to be.

No, it's just a plain and simple fact. People will stop complaining when they're satisfied with what they've paid for. Is that such a hard concept to understand? It doesn't come down to standards, when a person is happy with the game they'll quit complaining... until PD screw it up again with another useless update which takes away rather than adds to the game.

Are you expecting them to offer you some kind of community service? Would you like them to owe you $50? Mow your law? Shovel your snow? Hate to disappoint you PD is not your buddy, you're a consumer nothing more, they don't owe you anything,

Actually, they do owe us. They owe us features that were advertised with the game when we bought it. That's the least I expect from them. Where is matchmaking that was mentioned in the game's manual since day 1? Where is the GT Driver's Club that was mentioned in the seasonal event announcement? These things still have yet to show up.

oh...so consumer connection is not important? so why the hell Kaz keeps responding on tweeter?

They owed us for advertised features that didn't appear in the game which launched, features that were still missing up until last week, a whole 3 months late. Consider the other demands as interest for us being screwed over last year.

Soullessvessel seems to be a person who'll eat anything PD gives to consumers, like even if GT6 doesn't have online he's still going to get it and don't complain because he is just a consumer who can't do anything to derive the decision making for making the game...

I've nothing against people having their opinion but to sit back and literally say "I've just been short-changed but hey I'm a consumer and that's life" is just plain nonsense

They've shown us an example of bad project management and just what happens when common sense is not common inside a company. They'd make an invaluable icebreaker topic for office HR activities.

They've done a lot of things for us. 💡

in over 5 years of development....GT5 only has graphics and driving physics....very sad

Firstly, this is a forum dedicated to GT. Accordingly, don't be surprised that people here generally like the game. By all means find a band forum then criticise everyone for liking that band :dunce:

Secondly, it's been a while since I saw somebody whine because they apparently paid to be able to drive the cars, so it's their right to access them.

Have you any idea how moronic this argument is? It's a computer game, it's not for you to demand to be able to play all unlockable content on your terms. Did you have the same issue with Sega because you couldn't get far enough into Sonic the Hedgehog to fight Dr Robotnik? Do you criticise other games because you don't have the skill or patience to unlock every single feature?

Seriously ask yourself why you post on here? If you don't like GT5, why are you posting on a GT-dedicated forum? And if other people like the game, so fricking what? Why do you have to take issue with that?

It's a forum dedicated to GT. I have the right to criticize GT. I have the right also to criticize people that think it's blasphemy to say anything bad about a game company. Are you the "GTP Opinion Police" to decide which are the only opinions allowed? As long as I don't insult anyone and I don't break any forum rules I can post anything I like.

Yes. I bought the game which was called "The Real Driving Simulator" to drive the cars. Not for the "challenge" of commanding Bob or handling the very few virtual money I win by driving crappy rides to be able to drive better cars. Is that irrational?

Also your Sonic the Hedgehog example is bogus. Sonic is a platform game, not a driving game. And even sonic had a cheat to select the level you wanted. And I am glad it did as I didn't have the skill, patience or time to finish it and thanks to the cheat I was able to see all the levels and have fun with the game. Back then "cheats" in games were considered cool, developers implemented them and users were searching and sharing them. Now people like you consider them immoral! And the worst thing people like you think that when I use the cheat I destroy the game for you! How moronic is that?!! :dunce:

Any other driving game when you progress enough unlock all cars! Also simulation games on PC have all their content unlocked from the beginning. And there are some driving games that allow you to buy a relatively cheap DLC to unlock all cars and tracks! PD and GT5 is the only exception and also it's the only game with so bad progression you should have to do idiotic things like B-Spec, Remote Races and rubberband grinding to have enough money to drive the cars you want! :yuck:

That's because these developers are sane enough to understand that people play driving games to drive cars and sometimes they may not have the patience or time to unlock them! Of course PD is not sane but the most unfortunate thing is they have insane fans like you who think that the way others play their game offline has an effect on how you enjoy the game! 👎

Why post here? My previous post was because I wanted to answer to the OP with a Monty Python video that was relevant to his attitude and was mirroring his post! But you are right, honestly, I shouldn't bother to post in here and bother to argue with people like you! Or expect that PD is going to do something to fix the driving/racing aspect of GT5!

Very well said. Put him in his place.:bowdown:

We are not clones of each other, my point was that one persons 'satisfaction' is different from the next person, is that such a hard concept to understand?
So just because I am satisfied dosen't mean that several others are not and will subsequently complain, simple.

At what point did I say it wasn't different, person to person?

You seem to have imagined something I was supposed to have said and started a debate about it

They've made us the Gran Turismo series.

Yup, but what have they done for us lately?
It's been 7years since they last released a finished product.
They have lost this one customer here for life.

It's like with Metallica, you can only love them for so long for making their first few albums epic.

Yup, thats why I didnt buy gt1 or 3 or psp :dunce:

GT4 and every other GT before it was 100 times better.

GT4 had more tracks but everything else seems to me to be improved slightly. Other GT games were good on those systems but it is silly say that GT2 is a better game than GT5 running on PS3. I am of course sad that PD have not been able to improve game's problem areas very much like AI and sounds over the years.
