I knew it meant something like that, apparantly Nuccio Bertone uttered that word in amazement when he saw the first sketches of the Countach and they simply decided to name it that.

I think everywhere else *but* the US, it is pronounced "Niss-Ann". Not sure why it would be pronounced "Nee-San", do you pronounce "Kissing" as "Kee-sing"?

It's also (please can someone confirm) probably a Japanese word for which "Nissan" indicates the pronunciation using the latin alphabet, so what you get is what you see.

Five is "cinque" (as in cinque-cento - five-hundred), cinco is Spanish

I doubt I'd personally bother with all of that, though.


Also, note the "correct" pronunciation of jaguar as in the big cat itself. Of course, Jaguar was originally British, so maybe that changes things: "Jag-you-uh", which Google translate agrees with, bizarrely.
