Im getting harassed every single race in Sport mode by a ****ing clown, hes always ramming me first turn on purpose and keep spamming chat messages. I have several replays of this happening, race after race. Hes ramming and ruining not only mine but also others race. Any way to effectively report this guy?

You can't. Polyphony doesn't care, if they did they probably would have done something about it during all these years after the launch of Sport mode. It just is what it is, people are dicks on the internet and you can't really do anything about it. All you can try is playing at a different time, rating level or event really.

You can't. Polyphony doesn't care
More importantly, it's not actually in Polyphony's purview.

PD doesn't deal with reports at all, because - as a first-party studio - they go to Sony's PlayStation community management team, and while you can report people for "interfering with race" it seems that nobody there knows how to deal with it.

You shouldn't be banned for playing a game even if it's griefing unless you are actually sending harassment or intentionally targeting individual players by joining their game to causes further interference. Since this guy is sending you inappropriate chats then that alone should land him a suspension. A ban means you lose access to your entire library . I wouldn't be to happy if I lost over 5,000$ worth of games over some one butthurt they got rammed even if I did do it multiple times .

Oh no, not consequences for your actions.

A griefer should be banned. There is no excuse for ruining someone's gaming experience.

There was a Dev post on the official elite dangerous site years ago that said every instance of griefing loses 1,000 players who don't want their personal time gaming ruined by someone like that.

So you think stripping me of $5000, let alone one game, for ramming some one multiple times in a race is fair? That's theft.

Also no where does it say not to ram others or play in a way that lowers your score, disrupting a game covers DDOS , and types of attacks that cripple game play ( purposefully blocking / locking game lobbies up ) This game has a mechanic to punish you for crashing , it's part of the game , you can not ban some one for using a game mechanic .

So you think
Quick reference point: if you start a sentence like this and then put your own interpretation of what was said in place of what was actually said, you're wrong - and disingenuously so.

I think that ignoring the terms of service you agreed to and thinking spending five grand somehow immunises you from the "find out" stage is hilarious and bordering on idiotic. It also speaks for just how little you value your promises - and how little other people should trust them.

Perhaps if you're going to spend that much money on something you should ensure you don't place yourself to lose it so easily.

Ramming some one is not a violation of the TOS . I signed that TOS in 2009 and they have changed it hundreds of times since then, that isn't legal and sony and other clown tech companies have lost hundreds of lawsuits over their " TOS " .

But ok armchair lawyer 😂 .

Ramming a player multiple times and targeting them match after match turns into harassment . Ramming a guy multiple times in ONE match is not harassment , if anything the other person may just be a bad driver . The OP is getting targeted and has had messages sent to him by the same guy MULTIPLE times over MULTIPLE matches.

If I target the same guy in call of duty to kill over and over , that's not harassment, that's the point of the game If i crash many times in a racing game and hit others , that's not harassment , the game has a mechanic to punish you for it. Following a guy through lobbies and deliberately going out of his way to crash him out IS harassment, especially in conjunction with inappropriate messages .

Thank god you aren't a mod on PSN.

Tell me you haven't read it without telling me you haven't read it.

You just... can't help yourself, can you?

Yeah, I don't need to invoke deities to not grant me jobs I wouldn't want to do.

Dealing with imbeciles who just want to complain all day long and think that spending money on a service immunises them from the conditions of the service just isn't my cup of tea.

Quick note: as I'm not, you don't need to continue arguing your pretty dismal case to me. I'm not interested, in either sense of the word.

It's the reason I don't do Sport races anymore. I feel like it was better in GT Sport but now I can't do a single race without someone ramming me. Which then affects my driver rating and I slip down into the lower levels where the driving standards are even worse

Quote me in the PSN TOS where it says on ramming a player multiple times in one race is a violation of TOS .

I will wait .

Oh he's still going on about a point he imagined. Weird.
I will wait.
Yeah, we're still all waiting for your apology for insulting literally everyone when you made something up (which was wrong) and stated that anyone who didn't agree with it (rightly, because it was bollocks) was on drugs. This whole "here's something indefensible" followed by [insult] to anyone who doesn't agree seems to be your schtick.

So - ignoring the fact I already posted the literal PS code of conduct for you and you still didn't read it - you first.

And I'm not asking.

Edit: Well, what a staggering stupid piece of stubbornness and a situation entirely of his own making.

You appear determined to die on this hill but I'm not sure why? Is it worth it?

From what I see, the OP is describing a situation where they are being repeatedly targeted by the same person, across multiple races, both on the track and in chat. At what point does that become harassment and bullying? It certainly sounds like it to me.

Don't interact. Let him write in the GT7 chat and report all those messages for insulting/harassing/bullying.

One major reason games should never be online focused. The lack of real ability to police behaviour makes it very Wild West.

The only thing they could consider is a Driver rating Z which means they can only race against other trolls. Though I can also see the problem with that... how do you assign such a rating fairly given the huge inconsistencies with penalties in general?

Yeah, it's a major reason I rarely play PvP games and prefer co-op and PvE titles / modes instead. ....cheaters, griefers, exploiters, trolls and just down right annoying people is why I'd rather not even waste my time with random players in my gaming sessions. Especially at my age. I know some thrive on conflict with these people but not me.

I've got my own circle of friends I like to play games with and I meet new people through them, family and sometimes on forums like this one. Basically, our own pool of vetted, like-minded players.

The lack of respect some players show for others time and enjoyment of a game is exactly why I don't play Sport mode in GT7. Tried it a few times and it caused more frustration due to inconsiderate players than it did any excitement so I simply stay away. ...It's a shame a select few can ruin the gaming experiences of so many others.i

Oh look, what a surprise, he ran away from another conversation he was completely wrong about after entirely making up things to try to drive his point. What a shocker.

There should absolutely be a "Shame" driver level that puts you exclusively with other shame drivers. Like there have to be players out there with statistically anomalous amounts of contact penalties, those should trigger a shadowban to the loser lobby.

Games should always enforce their own rules, i.e. anything the game lets you do should be permitted. The problem with motorsport games is the expectation that people will limit their behaviour to only a subset of what the game permits, i.e. the existence of unenforced rules. I can't think of any other type of game that does this, every other multiplayer game I've played permits players to "win at all costs", provided you're using the game's official user interface rather than hacking it.

I'm here, again. Just to say it's a shame that PD removed the ability to report someone's sportsmanship behavior in the lobby.
I've been bullied since 2021 by a "fellow" italian guy I keep seeing in my races almost every week.
He doesn't write any messages, he never replied to anything in private. He just wrecks me and nobody else. He's always A-S.
There is literally nothing I can do about it (other than asking "what's your problem?" in the game chat, to which he never replies of course). This is just poisoning my online experience in Daily B.
I never initiate any wrecking, either when he's ahead or behind me. It's just him every single time.

Block their PSN profile and see if that puts you in lobbies without them

Well that’s annoying… that would be the perfect solution. Until you’re entering Sport races with a grid of just 1 car
That's also pretty much the reason. If it worked like that you could, in concept, stack a grid by blocking enough people and directly manipulate your DR, SR, and event qualification...
