Interesting post at The Chronicles, in the JCCS coverage:

This ED Civic hatchback is sitting on rare 80s-era Bridgestone-produced Walter Wolf Racing RA-1 wheels. If you don’t know Walter Wolf, I suggest you look up the name, as he is quite the polarizing figure who was not only on Interpol’s Wanted List, but also was the first Canadian to own a Formula 1 Racing team and have three specially-made Lamborghini Countach’s named after him. Talk about wheels that tell a story…

Since there's a thread for aftermarket wheels as well as another one for ugly/weird OEM wheels, I figured it's about time to make one for good looking OEM wheels as apparently, this is an uncovered niche. The directions are simple: just post OEM wheels that you think look nice/cool; they can come from a production car, race car, concept/prototype, etc, as long as they aren't aftermarket. Here are a few of my favorite wheel designs:

I'll start off with a classic. R32 Skyline GT-R wheels! These look good on virtually anything.

Alfa Romeo has always been known for making attractive wheels, one of my favorites being those from the 156 and GTV:

This is a more unpopular one, but the wheel design of the '00-'05 S 600/CL 600 is quite classy and timeless.

One could never go wrong with older Saab wheels either.

I'll end this post with wheels of the original Miura.

I know they’re basic but something about the Crown Vic Police Interceptor wheels just feels awesome to me.

The A2 has some nice wheel designs.

The wheels of the last one match the TDI I'm viewing tomorrow.

I think it's neat that the 348 got directional wheels, with those on one side mirroring those on the other.

Of course, when combined with the wider rears, that means each set consists of four unique wheels. Not ideal.

I could see those growing on me, but I think I'd rather have the standard Merc pieces. In silver.

Saab Aeros are the best. I couldn't afford them when I had my 9000 Turbo back in the mid-nineties. Wish I bought an SPG.

8-lug Pontiacs manufactured by Kelsey-Hayes. The wheel itself consists of just the hoop with the lug eyes, and the majority of what you would normally think of as the wheel center is actually the body of the brake drum.

Alley Cats?

Center cap looks familiar but I can't place it. It's not one that I recall seeing on any gennie or replica Alley Cats.

[Edit] It's a Vauxhall center cap.

It's one thing to see it on a set of Rostyles, but I guess I didn't expect to see it on Alley Cats.

Not exactly wheels I like, but need help identifying the wheels that were on my 81 when I bought it. All I know about them is that they have American racing center caps and are a 16 inch wheel. Wondering if they’re anything special or really just a set of halfway decent rollers

Danged if a set of those wouldn't look right at home on a 454SS.

Very cool high offset Appliance Wire Mags designed specifically for use on Oldsmobile Toronados and Cadillac Eldorados with the front wheel drive 425/455/472/500 V8 Unitized Power Pack.

Some more Appliance goodness.

Excluding the actual wire wheels, because they're not distinctive enough for me to recall, the only example here that I don't recall having seen in the wild is the "TURBO VAN". I've even seen 4-lug FWD variants of the Dia-Mag intended for imports.
