Ok watching back, @ 6:19 - does the off road spawn option actually mean a crash or cut won't result in some ultra unrealistic reset should we change it?

Ah finally some cockpit cam. - Just hoping the allow detailed FoV settings and the ability to remove the visual wheel and driver hands.

There will be 5 different cockpit camera distances

I probably won't be able to afford this straight off, but be assured that I will be getting the game AQAP!

WRC 5's website has been updated with stages, drivers and features.

I didn't know that the Creative Director behind Simbin's RACE series is working on this game. That explains why WRC5 is looking better than SLRE sofar (at least in physics department). My faith has been restored :D It would be hilarious if Kylotonn gets it right on their first go when Milestone couldn't do it after 4 games

It's also reassuring to see that the stages are going to be unique and not rehashed from the old games or made up of the same sectors in different orders. Hopefully they aren't just twisting it but it sounds promising there.

WRC e-sports trailer

We are proud to announce that WRC 5 will be the first WRC official videogame with simultaneous esports competition!

For the first time, an official esports championship will run online in parallel with each WRC round throughout the 2016 season thanks to ESL, the World's largest esports company.

Physics look much better compared to Loeb Rally Evo.
Milestone had pretty good physics for WRC 4 - so their new title will probably be an improvement.

It is good though that Kylotonn are stepping in at such a high level, and with confidence.

He likes hitting that one particular bush, doesn't he? It's also odd that they are just running the same stage too - or is it a vote situation maybe? The online crowd who play WRC seem to go for the same stage...every damn time...

I change my mind about this game almost every time I watch some gameplay, doesn't help when the people playing it are terrible and usually not using a wheel. Will wait to see some good footage after release but I doubt I will be buying this.

Team VVV did a pretty good video a few weeks back:

Generally I think this game will be better than SLRE, but not quite as good as Dirt Rally. Which is quite understandable really. I can see this game being a hidden gem in the next few years (until they make WRC6 that is ).

Surely I'm not the only one that thinks SBLE looks better than this? The stage designs are awful and there is something really not right with the graphics, particularly the dust animations...

I thought WRC1-4 were good games that just suffered from a lack of funding and therefore polish, but the overall core of the game was good. Will have to wait and see I guess, the frame rate looks ordinary from the WRC5 videos I have seen too...

The transmission sounds like a dying pig and the pace note delivery is one small step away from being MacInTalk-level robotic.

That said, the visuals don't look too disappointing. Certainly not on par with the other two primary contenders of 2015, but considering the last four WRC titles were never graphical works of art, it's a step in the right direction.

Nothing remarkable physics wise from what I've seen. Though I could get a few weeks of playtime out of this if it's anything close to how WRC4 handled (so long as it's muted).

This game is showing up online for PS4 release late October in the USA. I had to order a UK copy of the last two to play on ps3 so I did not have to wait for the US version. Also it is only $49.99 not $59.99, so that is cool.

My current problem is what to do for a handbrake on ps4 if I get this. Don't want to mod my t300 while the warranty is still good.

The TH8a in sequential mode is always set to L1 & R1 even when connected as usb.. so cant do that or I wont have any shifting.

I guess I could use paddle shifters to shift and setup my TH8a in H-Pattern mode, set 4th gear as the handbrake, then use small bungie cords to pull it forward. Just need to come up with some type of stop to keep it going past neutral.

.. just wish there was a plug and play handbrake option for ps4 with the T300..

Edit - found this.. .looks easy enough -
***A cheap and relatively simple way to make a handbrake for T3PA pro, using an aluminum brake lever, a brake cable, C clamp and a drill, managed to make a very functional hand brake, which works on most games and consoles:

Got this last night for PC via Steam. Graphics look very good, but not quite as good as Dirt Rally. FFB with my T300 wheel is very strong, lots of center spring. Physics feel good, definitely not hard to run the car off the track. The stages I have done so far are pretty short, but that is likely because I just started the career mode. They have all the real life rally touches such as repairs, set ups, etc. Only con so far is that although the game supports triple screen resolutions, including my 5760 X 1200 resolution, the image gets all stretched out and so the game is unplayable.

Thanks for the info Zero,

Graphics, T300 and physics...this is looking better and better :)
Only one more week..

I'm hoping to hear soon how the PC and PS4 versions compare.

My PC rig (currently the T300/T3PA) has DiRT Rally alongside everything else on Steam, and I'd much prefer to grab this for the PS4 with my other rig (the T500/TH8A) alongside Driveclub, because I suspect it's a better fit for living room relaxed use.

I was just reading on steam some people can't even get 60fps with solid gaming rigs so possibly not optimised well on PC. Watched a few videos just now and the graphics aren't too bad and the physics look ok but the audio is terrible, the co-driver is a robot and the engine sounds are just plain nasty. Console players should get some enjoyment out of this but for PC users I don't see any reason to choose this over the competition unless you want an easier sim-cade experience.

There is supposed to be a demo at some point... Definitely "wait and see" for me right now. I assume you are in the same boat?
