  2. Adam

    errr

    Dear Mr Browne

Thank you for the following order placed with GAME.

    Order number(s):
    07491683/P

As you may already be aware, the UK release date for Gran Turismo 5 has changed to 05-Nov-2010. Changes to release dates are relatively common in the videogames industry and are unfortunately beyond our control.

    :)

We have many time zones on the Earth, don’t you remember?

So, when in Los Angeles will be 16:00 and in Washington will be 19:00 of November, 2 in Barcelona will be 0:00 and in Moscow will be 2:00 of November, 3…and in Tokyo will be 8:00

    1. SKID

so, even if it will be an 0:00 release for each time zone, we’ll haven’t a 24-hour difference with each other

  4. Orbit

Australia falls under the SCEE banner, meaning this date applies to us too, right?

Anyone aware of midnight launch details in Aus?

  5. dearlybeloved

Just placed my order with Play.com @ 23.50pm UK time. Also 78 days to go. i told my wife that she has me until that date and then after that….”i am a no go area because my time will be dedicated not to her but to my mistress!!!” man that wound her up to no end. she’s already packing her bags as we speak!!!! oh how we laughed.

    peace out to all.

  6. snausages

hmm… im pretty sure that the time difference in the uk and north america would still make it an international launch, maybe a two hour difference

  7. rgt5uk

The uk gets game releases on a friday, if im correct the 3rd will be a wednesday so we may not see it till the 5th any thoughts people?

    1. Hawar

Yeah games in the UK are always released on a Friday. I hope it’s a Wednesday but to be honest, if it IS a Friday, I’m ok waiting. We’ve waited this long, I can hold another 3 days if needs be lol

  8. robert

Who cares bout 1 day behind the yanks, im just glad theyve bought it forward as much as they have…..OMG THIS IS GONNA ROCK BIGTIME!!!!!!!

  9. LoneWanderer

I wasn’t surprised this was basically what we got. The release date doesn’t affect me since I live in the US. But I’m sure a majority of you are mad about this.

  10. G

thats my girlfriends birthday… oh hell… now I have to choose… do I contact my gf by text, phone, email or face to face to tell her I wont see her?

  11. Tim

great Sony what a muck up what is the point of releasing 1 day after us why not just do a worldwide release on november 2 , oh wait i forget thats to hard.

I accept the fact the Signature edition release but in most cases the shops have them a few days before release this way they can post Internet orders and ensure items arrive on release day.

Play.com do this very thing GT PSP is a good example they got it a few days before and posted it the evening of the same day and it landed on my door mat on release day.

    1. No46TheDoctor

Seriously dude, stop whining, take into account Time Zones (heard of them?) and it’s basically the same day. Some peopl seem to think it’s the same time and the same day everywhere in the world, it isn’t, you should have paid attention in geography class.

    2. Detroitbb

I echo the sentiments of No46TheDoctor. It is essentially the at the same time. GTP’ers in California will get it about 2 hours before those in GTP’ers in Germany.

    3. Detroitbb

California is GMT – 7:00… Germany is GMT + 2:00

      That’s a nine (9) hour difference – not 15 hours!

  12. Honda-Crz

I know the reason. Because in Europe, we get the Signature edition. Therefore certain companies may send the product out early and it will be received one day early.

  13. gt3luke

    OMFG,
    Al the fuss for nothing
I’m glad it comes out on the 3th of november. It doesn’t matter that the US has it on 2 November. Come on guys. Just be glad it finally comes out. It is certainly no reason for a discussion here.

  14. nikhil

oh yereerrrhhhhh!!!!!!! stupid exmas are gonna come in the way! well i know whats important to me! i think we all know what the answer is…!

  15. bcb

It’s a six hour difference from where I live. They release it at 12:00 AM on the 2nd U.S. central time..England only has to wait 18 hours til midnight release on the 3rd.

  16. DemonBlade

This is a nice surprise, was expecting 26th Nov or around then. All we need now is a full car list with at least one Radical in there!

  17. Goshin2568

You guys are dumb. It is a world wide release!!!
November 3rd in europe and November 2nd in the US is the same time! It’s only hours of a difference…

  18. Paulpg87

    @Pat

SanGiuliano, provincia di Milano, gamestop. Fin’ora hanno rilasciato tutti i giochi prima della data d’uscita, spero anche gt5.

    1. fabio93bg

wow…nn so neanche se potrebbero farlo!haha!cmq fa nnt restero a bergamo a comprarlo, il 3 novembre…va bene anche così

  19. Strop

Am I the only one who is aware of the time zone difference. Nov 3 in Europe is the same day as November 2 in the US, just offset by a few hours.

  20. Gran Turismo Vet

When the rumors from that french site came up I knew it was wrong lol Europe is their top priority. To all the noobs who asked me for proof here it is lol even though a 10 yrs old with a healthy brain could`ve foreseen that…

  21. Pat

Why? Why 1 day after? Europe is the best market for GT series, and they release it after other places… it’s not matter of 1 day, or 1 week, it’s the meaning.

It’s soo stupid. The couldn’t make a ww release or what?

What evere… as allways, Sony marketing SUCKS!

    1. Pat

No… it’s not matter of wait. It’s the meaning of the accion.

EU market, is the #1 fot GT, we all know it… and what they do? They release it after a “secundary” market.

      Do you get my point?

There are just 3 or 4 games that we get before US, and so, it would be not so bad from Sony to do the same they have done from years with GT series.

For me it’s like: Ok, EU, don’t worry about them. Like the GT web page (the EU versions…).

    2. Rotard12a

      North America:
      -Release 15 hours sooner
      Europe:
      -GT Concept 2002
      -GT4 Prologue
      -GT4 bonus DVD/Platinum
      -GT Academy
      -GT5 Signature Edition
      -GT5 Competition/SLS Giveaway
Now tell me, who’s REALLY being shafted by Sony? That’s right. Shut your mouth.

    3. Rotard12a

Oh, and total sales from the GT series is only 15.6% more for Europe than the “secundary” market you describe. Not a very impressive lead when you consider the fact that Europe has 300 million more people in it than North America.

Europe, North America, and Japan are all the primary markets. And not that it matters, but there are far more copies of GT per person in NA than Europe, and WAY more per person for Japan than NA. So as far as where the real fans are, it’s clear Japan is the answer.

  22. Gunegune

The GT servers are likely to be flooded when the game is released so the Nov. 3 European release date may be to create a larger time difference between game launch in Europe and North America.

This theoretically creates a smaller amount of connections to the GT servers (and PSN servers) in a given time period, allowing for a smoother online initialization. This does not guarantee that the servers will not crash, however.

  23. Chris

Apparently there was a trailer shown.

    From 1up:

“Wow, that was an amazing trailer! You need to see this. We’ll have this up on gamevideos later.”

    1. stevenhiggster

I know, thats it I’m boycotting it, a whole friggin day! I’ll be dead by the time it comes out! /s

    1. Jackington

It’s not too bad… if you live in Australia (like me), especially if any of the stores do midnight releases!

    2. ICEMAN_ZIDANE

WOOOOOOOOOOW I am so happy guys
i thought the europe realase will be 1 week after USA but now i happy because it is only 24hours :D

yuhuuuu and i will be at gamescom

    3. Patrocles

1 day is not so bad.

Sony is lazy? marketing? building buzz by the rollout so they can sell more copies (intentional or accidental)?
