Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: United Nations

A new set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges, the first of 2024, is becoming available to players as the clocks pass midnight in their local timezones, bringing five fresh events for players to tackle over the next seven days.

The Weekly Challenges feature was added in the game’s Spec II update, adding a short playlist of events from the game’s existing World Circuits races — occasionally with a unique Special Event created just for the week — and awarding bonus prizes. Whether you’ve already completed them or not, you’ll need to do them again, finishing third or better for the Weekly Challenge bonuses (although any previous progress is retained).

This week does see the addition of a Special Event, and again stars the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 RS. You’ll need the car to squeeze in under 700PP for the race which is a five-lap sprint around the full Autopolis circuit. There’s 87,500cr on the table for taking the win.

There’s another short blast in the Sunday Cup too, with a five-lap race around the tiny Northern Isle Speedway oval. You’ll find barely any restrictions, with just a road car being required, and don’t overthink it (or just use the 911 again!) as there’s only 5,000cr available for victory.

Slightly more lucrative is yet another Brands Hatch race, this time at the full GP Circuit in the European Clubman Cup 600. Despite the name, 600PP is only a suggestion so just grab any road car from a European manufacturer (like the 911 GT3 RS you used above. Again) and complete the three laps for 25,000cr.

You’re going to need some straight-line speed for the next race, which is a Nissan GT-R Cup event at Tokyo Expressway East Clockwise. Any Nissan GT-R model is eligible so long as it doesn’t exceed 700PP, and you’ll take 80,000cr for victory at the end of the four laps.

Finally we have one of the most challenging races we’ve seen in a Weekly Challenge yet, and that even applies to getting access to it…

It’s in the X2019 Nations Cup, and that means you won’t be able to see the race at all unless you have at some point at least started the relevant Menu Book, Book 49. However to even see the Menu Book itself you’ll need to be Collector Level 50 and have completed Menu Book 39 and watched the game’s ending movie. Phew!

Once there, you’ll need either of the two Gran Turismo Red Bull X2019 cars — the regular Competition model or, if you picked it up as a bonus gift in 2022, the Anniversary car — fitted with any grade of racing tire, for a 14-lap race around Trial Mountain.

These cars can be tricky to drive due to the speed and grip, and there’s an 8x tire wear multiplier that will mean a stop is necessary unless you tough it out on the slow hard tire. You’ll take 200,000cr for victory here.

The bonus rewards have a little shake-up this week. You’ll earn a six-star roulette ticket for parts if you complete one event, with a 200,000cr ticket for completing three, and a 750,000cr ticket for checking off all five.

The Weekly Challenges update at midnight local time on Wednesday evenings/Thursday mornings, with the next set due at that time on January 10/11 2024. You’ll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access.
