GT Sport Daily Races: Skylines and Shorelines

A fresh week means a fresh set of GT Sport Daily Races, and the line-up for the next seven days is a little curious. You’ve got two events with full-on race cars, two at antipodes of each other (almost), and some strange tire choices.

Those wanting a little simplicity can head to Race B. This week, the event takes you to Australia’s famous Mount Panorama circuit — also known as Bathurst. All you need to do here is pick your preferred Gr.3 race car and head out around a three-lap race.

From Bathurst’s Skyline corner, we’re heading to the opposite side of the world with some Skyline cars. Race A brings you to Goodwood, 10,500 miles away, for a four-lap race, and puts you into the seat of a Nissan Skyline GT-R. It’s a provided car for this race, but there’s two unusual factors here.

Firstly, the car — an R32-generation model — sits on Racing Hard tires. Odder is the fact that the event states that the vehicle settings are adjustable, which usually indicates that Polyphony Digital has tweaked the car for the event, but nothing has changed in comparison to the stock GT-R.

Race C puts you back into GT Sport’s early history. It’s a ten-lap race of that old favorite original course, Dragon Trail Seaside, with free choice on Gr.4 cars. The front-wheel drive cars — Audi TT, Peugeot RCZ, Renault Sport Megane, and Volkswagen Scirocco — usually dominate these events, but there’s a tire wear consideration this time round that may bring the class more into balance. It’s only a 7x multiplier but it could be enough.

In addition, the race features mandatory tires. You’ll need to run at least one lap during the race itself on the racing hard compound, or face a pretty stiff post-race penalty.

These three races will run through to Monday, November 2nd, when another new set of three will replace them.
