GT Sport Daily Races: Five by Five by Five

A new set of GT Sport Daily Races is now available for the week, and they’re showing no signs of slowing down.

This week’s Race A puts you into one of Honda’s iconic cars of the 1990s, the S2000. A two-seat convertible inspired by the brand’s classic S line of sports cars, the S2000 brought everything Honda had learned from its Type R hot hatches and NSX supercar into a compact roadster.

For the race, you’ll be taking it more-or-less home, to the fictional Tokyo Expressway course. Inspired by real roads on the C1 loop in Tokyo, Tokyo Expressway has a number of different layouts that have different characters, but set in the same claustrophobic environment. This race sets you on the squared-off Central loop, in the most common Outer orientation, for a five-lap race.

Race B sees you running a classic GT Sport formula, pitting racers against each other in Gr.3 machines at the famous Interlagos circuit. You can choose from any of the Gr.3 cars — a fictional version of the GT3 category — for this five-lap sprint race.

Finally there’s Race C, which is also a five-lap race this week, not because the cars are slow but because the track is long. One of the longest, in fact, as you’ll be going to Circuit de la Sarthe, the venue for the annual 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Rather than top-level prototype machinery, you’ll be racing the flagship car of the Nations Cup, the Red Bull X2019 Competition. As it’s a garage car, you’ll need to either own one already or pick one up for 3,000,000cr, but you can at least put your own livery on it.

There’s no complications from mandatory tires this week, although the 5x tire wear multiplier will make your Racing Medium tires feel distinctly second-hand by the end of the race if you don’t keep an eye on slip. A pit stop takes forever here too, so that’s something you’ll want to avoid.

These three races will run through to Monday July 26, when another set will replace them.
