GT Sport Daily Races: Back to Reality

The latest set of GT Sport Daily Races is now available, running across the next seven days. This week’s events will take players to three of the game’s stable of real-world circuits for three races of very different character.

Race A will put you into a David and Goliath battle. You’ll need to choose between two Minis separated by some 40 years, with either the 1965 Cooper S or its 2005 namesake as your car of choice.

The decision might seem obvious, but both cars are tuned into the N100 class, and have further setup work under the hood to bring them into a more equal performance bracket. Either way though, you’ll take your chosen Mini for a six-lap race of the Brands Hatch Indy course.

For Race B, players will head across to Germany for a three-lap race of the Nurburgring Grand Prix circuit. You’ll have free choice of any of the Gr.4 cars — the in-game equivalent of GT4, with vehicles largely based on roadgoing cars — for the event. This circuit is one that the four-wheel drive cars tend to do quite well at, so that’s worth bearing in mind before you choose your machinery.

This week’s endurance-style Race C is something of a traditional GT Sport combo, taking in the ferocious Mount Panorama circuit with the considerably quicker Gr.3 vehicles. These are cars that resemble road cars, but rarely share much more than a basic body shell and engine configuration and positioning, much like the real GT3 cars.

You will have to deal with both relatively high tire wear — a 7x multiplier making the nine-lap race feel like 63 laps to your rubber — and mandatory tire requirements. That means you’ll need to use both the Racing Soft and Racing Medium tires at least once during the race, or face a one-minute post-race penalty. Maximizing your time on the faster but quicker degrading softs is a must.

These three races will run through to Monday August 2, when another set will replace them.
