Kunos Secures a Second Ferrari for Assetto Corsa’s Red Pack

If you weren’t hyped enough consider yourself lucky, the entire team at Kunos Simulazioni have certainly become masters of that craft with these recent string of trailers. Whether it be further building the already high anticipation for the upcoming console release, or a slow trickling of reveals for the upcoming Red Pack – Kunos certainly knows how to get the job done.

Cleverly taking advantage of this weekend’s British Grand Prix festivities at Silverstone, Kunos and 505 Games have unveiled the fourth car that’s set to be included in next week’s Red Pack DLC, the Ferrari F138 from the 2013 Formula One season.

Joining the likes of the SF15-T from the 2015 season also included in the pack, the 664 chassis driven by Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa is powered by a naturally-aspirated 2.4L V8 engine. A combination that resulted in two race victories, 10 podium finishes, and third place overall at the end of the season. The F138 is the last of its kind before the reintroduction of turbocharged V6 engines the following season.

As previously mentioned, the F138 joins the likes of the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV, Ferrari SF15-T, Maserati 250F, and of course the Red Bull Ring, home to the Austrian Grand Prix. With three more car reveals left to go, who knows what Kunos has up their sleeve but if the previous reveals are anything to go by, the pack will surely be sought after.

Console racers have just a little while longer to wait until the game’s late August release. The Red Pack is coming to Assetto Corsa on July 14th for the PC platform and will see an accompanying release to consoles later this year. Stay tuned for more on the upcoming pack over the coming days, and remember to stop by our Assetto Corsa sub-forum for more discussion and in-depth analysis.

    Looks beautiful!

The sudden inclusion of 2 Open Wheel cars along with the other 2 that came with AS to begin with, is making me seriously consider this now.

The decisions on which direction to go in the Sim Racing world in a few months, is seriously giving me anxiety every day.

Does anybody know if Polyphony intends to eventually add Open Wheel cars to GTS?

After this pack, open wheelers in AC:

      Maserati 250F
      Ferrari SF15-T
      Ferrari F138
      Ferrari 312T
      Lotus 25
      Lotus 49
      Lotus 72D
      Lotus 98T
      Lotus Exos T125
      Tatuus FA01

It has fenders, so called, but I’d include the XBow in there as well.

The way all the various cars feel really, really different from each other is amazing. The Lotus 25 with it’s skinny tires and lack of downforce is a real handful and requires a great deal of thought before entering each corner. The Ferrari 312T has just the right amount of slip angle in those big, fat 70’s era rubber. Each of them feels really different from the others with the 72D and 312T being close to each other as are the Tatuus and Exos. The best engine sounds in the game, IMO, are the open wheelers.

Anyone who loves open wheels should love this game.

      Johnny,

I know it’s a late, but I wanted to thank you for your perfectly informative reply!

Also, you were right on the money with the Maserati :-)

I’ll tell ya. For all this talk about AC being more so a “Road Car” Sim over a “Race Car” Sim is turning out to be anything but that to my delight. Especially, with all of these Open Wheel Cars.

*So we will have this on PS4 by labor day weekend*
    – seems like will need to make this a minimum 4 day weekend.

The fifth car? We know of the Lamborghini Aventador SV, Maserati 250F, Ferrari SF15-T and Ferrari F138.

    Am I forgetting one?

    1. brownninja97

it was fine, you didnt need to change it, there was a V6 and V12 maserati 250F so this is indeed the fifth car.
