Nice choice of cars, although I can’t say I have many RX7/8’s apart from the Le Mans cars, rally cars is cool too. I’ve only done the rally cars TT in my ’03 Impreza, but I got gold by 0.001! Yes I got a 1:11.999! I’M SO JAMMY!!!

Really easy event, after only 4 tries i ended up on the 48 place. Going for top 10 :) send me a massage if you have some question (psn: TRANIX74 )

    1. TomBrady

Dude the only reason you got 48th place is because this trial just started, check again next week, you’ll be in 1000th place probably

    2. challenger94

Oh really, than why am i just getting better.. Now im on the 23th place and i knhow i can get 14600 points so we will see. Btw u sound a bit jealous and angry.. Having your period?

    3. challenger94

I suck at tt i only drift :) getting better and better, stopped for a while so have to practice alot :( prop will never get as good as last year when everybody was doing the tvr thing. But happy thats over.

do you drift on controller or wheel…because if u drift on controller there is nothing to admire… its so fking easy..900° FTW

Sweet. I love my 2002 RX-7. I will definitely be doing this one. Its like PD read my mind and decided to use my favourite car in the world this week!

look at it this way: If you are able to discipline yourself to becoming proficient on Comfort tires, then you will surely be a BEAST when it comes to racing people in a Sports or Racing tire race.

Now, this will be difficult for anyone who just blasts around on Racing Softs every day. Hopefully you do not fall into that category… Either way, I wish you luck.

    2. phil_75

No you won’t, its totally different game on Racing tyres.
Just because you are good on CS doesn’t make you a god on RS.

    3. researchALLwars

phil_75, do you care ot expand on that a bit? I understand that GT5’s tire model is a pretty abject, and the different tires are basically ‘grip multipliers’.. Can you take us further into the differences and why becoming fast and consistent on the Comforts would not translate well to the Racing set?

    4. TomBrady

You should never complain about comfort soft tires, especially not on this car. If you knew your stuff you would know comfort soft on this car is the closest to what the car uses in real life based on telemetry stats in game compared to the real life stats of this car.

@research I agree with you partly but I don’t think being good on comfort soft will help you on driving on racing soft tires, unless you’re a beginner. It doesn’t help me at least. I can drive on racing soft but I’m not fast at all. I play a lot of PC sims and race GT5 with mostly realistic tires so I struggle to be really fast on racing soft tires because they allow you to push the car to unrealistic limits. I try to never use racing soft tires, they’re not realistic at all, makes GT5 seem like NFS

    5. Both Barrels

I’m in the same boat as TomBrady, I have no use for RS tires, racing tires at all for that matter. It truly would feel like going backwards in time to previous versions of GT when it was normal to have racing tires on everything. SS are my “racing tires” now.

Your point on the RX-7’s tires reminds me of a comment from a test session way back in ’91 ( Road & Track maybe?), afterwards the tires were “showroom fresh”. Testament to how hard those tires must’ve been.

Soft racing tyres were used to qualify in races in earlier GT editions. So far PD has pooted on the the issue thus far.

This TT & DT event looks like fun! :D The best part is I’m starting to get back into playing GT5 again by playing a few days ago. Its that fun and exciting. :)

Right on PD!!! An RX-7 TT at Trial Mountain!… what’s ah RX-8?

Wait a minute… my stock ’02 RX-7 is over the PP limit.? Ok, my ’91 will do just fine. ’91 is kinda old, maybe I could use a later model… ’01 Bathurst? no, ’00 Type RZ? nope, where’s my stock ’97 RS-R??? still looking for one, ’92 Type RZ? stock 446pp? BINGO!

All righty… ECU? check, sport air filter? check, sport exhaust pipe? check, adj eng pwr to 295hp… 460pp. Let’s do this. Why come I cain’t get legal !@#$%? Ooooohhh, gotta down grade to CS tyres??? Whatever PD…

45:27.021 minutes later, averaging 1:47 secs/lap, I zoned in sector 2 and managed a 1:46.215 lap. Not done yet… 4 laps later my lap times are showing a red lap and no improvement. That’s it then.

    Now that’s how you GT… ;)

    1. infamousphil

Just in time too. I thought I had another Ferrari to drive in the festival but my stock Enzo exceeds the pp restriction and I try to avoid down grading below a car’s stock hp and kg rating… see my initial post regarding down grading tyres ;)

Oh yeah… the Eiger rally was way too easy to gold… SH’s on a rally car??? Will I ever understand that? Couldn’t they have just shortened the time and used SS’s or RH’s? Not complaining. Just trying to understand PD’s thinking.

OMT… I’ma rank stank scrub at drifting… gave it up long ago.
