    It is.

But the thing is, that there is no point in having endurance unless you have mid race saves. Plus, if your going to have n endurance race, have the Bathurst 1000.

  2. Mangusta36

    It is.

There is also no need to have endurance races. If you are going to have an endurance race in a video game, have the Bathurst 1000.

I think we need to remember PD will play to it’s main stream casual user customer base, hence they’ll continue to push these accessible events. Although I appreciate the ongoing seasonal’s their pumping out, these events aren’t a stretch for PD. The GT5 back end brought a new content management system that allows them to push these events out regularly, it’s not dissimilar to any website that regularly updates. What they need to recognise is their audience is maturing. Time to publish something a little more substantial PD. They would have a dev. program of work that stretches out beyond 24 months from today. Bringing a few key updates forward will ensure users remain fully engaged and ‘signing in’ which in turn keeps SCE on side …

:) I’m just waiting for the DLC….I dont mind taking my wallet out. :D just give me some new stuff i can pay for! or even better give me the same stuff xD for free PD :D rocks!

  5. Masterleaf

I can forsee the 10 year olds saying “No point doing this seasonal rah rah rah also I have not breathed fresh air in 7 years.”

  6. Mac K

I haven’t been on GT5 in two weeks due to school and work and I think I’ll be playing it again tonight and doing this seasonal, gotta love Minis.

    1. Killer Tiller

Endurance saves would be awesome, I have the last 4 in a-spec to do but struggling to find time to do them and don’t fancy leaving the ps on for a whole month haha

    1. daics69

its funny how people confuse MAINTENANCE with UPDATE. the two have nothing to do with eachother. and i’m stoked with the remote race update to be honest. sweet as. peace

  7. Sneak_king18

Seasonals are good at keeping the game fresh..but w 1000+ cars you came up w the mini? W/e..just get it done and wait for the next one. And the people who think the Japanese arent creative? Your right. The level 59 japanese kid couldn’t use the golden psp..because he has no soul

  8. naruto149

Im all for the endurance seasonal and all but what is up with the a spec banner on the seasonals. There needs to be a b spec seasonal if they think about that.

  9. Advent

Hmmm… dissappointed with this one. The mini is a bit lame in my opinion. As suggested in a previous comment; i’d like to see some longer seasonal events in more exciting cars. I can’t remember who suggested it, but I love the idea of multiple class races but guess it’s a bit ‘far-out’ for PD at the moment. Hopefully, this type of feature will be considered for GT6….

    1. hatfield

Using the Premium Mini with full ballast in the back and no assists was a blast to drive around. Brake late and hard while turning to get the thing sideways. Really good fun. Now to try out the old Mini in some close racing battles!

  10. Mr Clean 113

No match making yet? Who cares about more seasonals similar to old seasonals and existing game play? PD doesn’t care what gamers think. They go with what’s easy. Clean up the online head to head experience. It sucks.

  11. vicgto

Yeah, what a great notice. I love seasonal events just by the pleasure of driving. I don’t care what’s it all about. I love new playing.

  12. Ras35001

I`m grateful PD is giving us so much seasonals (and patches of course). People need to start appreciating more what this game has to offer and less what it does not.

  13. cliffatron

i wish they outlined what todays update contains! i have got my fingers crossed for endurance saves but i feel it is rather unlikely! also stange timing for seasonals to go online.

  14. BWX

KAZ and PD are so predictable and BORING. GT5 has do much more to offer, but they keep putting out these same LAME format seasonal races. WTFPD.

  15. Tom

speaking of Mini’s… Why is the “old” classic mini listed in the game as, ’98 ?? … the description of the car makes it sound like an early mini. and it looks old too.. but if you sort the std cars by “year” it falls in place as a 1998.. glitch? misprint?

    1. HPUnleashed

They’ve made good ones in the past, but they need to realize that most of us don’t want to race slow cars that we started out with when we bought the game.

If I’m right, most of us want to race in the high performance cars, rally events, and night races. These help to show off Polyphony Digital’s hard work and brilliance in creating photo-realistic effects and environments.

But little cars that crawl along the road at a top speed of 80 don’t bring any excitement into the game.

    1. MikePL

Underpowered? Depends on the engine, doesn’t it? Seems you’re basing you’re “on the road” opinion on video game experience.

    2. @MikePL

You’re right that I haven’t had any “on the road” experience with the Mini. But, I didn’t base it off the game. I was going off of reviews and the Mini’s “real world” specifications. A 1.6L 4 cylinder engine that pumps out 121 HP doesn’t sound like a car built for speed.

I’ll freely admit I could be completely wrong on this prospect. Especially since the car is very light.

  16. Jim

Why do people like the Mini? It’s a goofy chick car in SoCal. Their claim to fame is fun to drive, but it’s really not … many FWD’s are better. VW GTI, 207 GTi, Acura RSX (Honda Integra), and on and on.

We’ve already had at least one Mini seasonal, there is at least one A/B spec event, and it was in at least 2 licenses. Is this paid product placement?

    1. So True

LOL I don’t get the “fun to drive” slogan either. I call them “death-mobiles” simply because if you end up in a serious car accident, there’s little chance of you surviving in something so small as a Mini.

    1. GT_Die_Hard

Why not? There are only 10-ish standard rally events in the game, so why not put some more in it? We got lots of Rlly Raid and Group B cars to drive with…

  17. HPUnleashed

Sorry PD but the sound of racing mini coopers again just sounds boring. When are you guys going to make a rally seasonal event? We got so few of those in the special events section? Or better yet, when are you going to make an all night racing event? That would be so cool considering I’ve never done a race on the Nurburgring at night!

    1. GT_Die_Hard

Great thoughts mate! I’d like to see both of them and just as others said, some 4h races would be a great feature too…

  18. rod

ok… i never agreed with people bitching about seasonals and updates. but minis? seriously? they were doing so well with the DTM, Real Circuit Tours, Nascar, etc, but this is so, so boring. Ok Minis are great, ok its fun to race them stock with confort tires, im all into that, but cmon… why is it so hard to setup an endurance seasonal? like a 4h race at la sarthe or the ring? Huge prizes, huge PPs. Ranked lap times. They could do like 100 of these and it would still be fantastic, changing weather, cars, etc… Also (how could i forget) 3 words: EXPERT-CHALLENGE-RACES! Sorry but i cant thank these guys for their work and their updates anymore, its time to give us fans some more impact…

  19. A_Higher_Place

They put the R8 LMS race car in the remote race with the DTMs on Madrid -_- guess who’s winning every race? -_-

    1. A_Higher_Place

PD needs to bring the cars to a pretty exact pp level before setting these up. Otherwise by default 1 car always wins..

    2. daics69

that’s just how it is mate, that’s life. wrc-citroen dominates, f1’s-redbull, etc. won’t go through all the different racing leagues around the world but there’s always a car that dominates. you have 1 in 16 chance to get in the best car. i don’t see any problems with that.

    3. A_Higher_Place

exactly, the R8 is no DTM, technically neither is the BMW although no complaint due to power similarities.

Best idea though, add more DTMs from all years all makes. Mix that field up some more.

    4. daics69

ofcourse not. but when it’s only up against a focus, or now fiesta, and a couple of 2 race old mini’s…it dominates

  20. Super T

Typical, I’ll get home from work right before PD pulls the servers for todays maintenance. In the studio with my band tomorrow so no GT5 until
    the weekend for me… :-(

  21. AlphaAndius

For a sec, I panicked when I thought I saw 7 laps around the Autumn Ring!! A microsecond later, the “mini” addition in the description. Oh the joys of reading drowzily. Hehe.

  22. Bigburt

Great-looking seasonal – can’t wait to race… Wonder if we will get a patch update during maintenance later today??!!

  23. Quakebass

    Heres what PD should do:
make a seasonal with all of the super common cars (MX-5’s, Skyline’s, RX-7’s, S2000’s, NSX’s, Etc. all on Tsukuba, 5-10 laps (depending on model) per common model, a separate race for each model, to get Tsukuba out of PD’s system. Tt would piss everyone off, but then after this event, Tsukuba and the common-model cars would NEVER be used again, except for maybe most of the Nissans, the NSX’s, and the RX-7’s, because those cars are a bit more fun to drive. I agree with Eunos_cosmo – we need seasonal endurance races, preferably not any that are already in a-spec or b-spec for a new challenge. (You don’t have to take me seriously about the Tsukuba thing ;) )

    1. warren4649

Maybe because this is the way the toy camera is meant to be used, unlike all the people that post ugly close up using that effect.

  24. eunos_cosmo

Yawn….GIVE US SOME NIGHT RACES AT THE RING PD! Why can’t they do a 4hr Nurburgring night race seasonal? With weather? Why is that so hard? Make the prize 10,000,000cr. I don’t care if it’s 400pp or 600pp or whatever.

    1. Erik

I want a race where there’s like three classes of cars on the track, like 600, 500 and 400 pp with like four cars in each class, and you can chose wich class you’re gonna enter, like in the real Nurburgring 24 hours. And if you win your class, then you win the race. It would give a lot more overtakes in the race and it would be a chance to use some of the endurance cars that just are way too underpowered to compete in the 24 hour A-spec races. So, a four hours Nurburgring seasonal with weather, night and option to chose which class you want to participate in.

    1. gtnewfie

wow, typical 5 races 5 laps each…. Why can’t they put 10 races, a few with 10 laps with AI that scales to your performance? PD are the most boring/un0imaginative racing developer out there.
