Mixed Reality Video: Managing Night Conditions in DiRT Rally

Today we’ve brought you some new entertainment from Marcel Pfister‘s Mixed Reality video series. Racing at night is what Marcel decided to demonstrate, using his tried-and-true pairing of an Oculus Rift VR headset with the aid of green-screen technology. Support for Oculus was made available for the PC version of DiRT Rally last month in a sizeable download.

As you will see from the video above, the atmosphere of the surrounding area changes quite significantly at night, forcing you to concentrate on the road more effectively. The VR immersion certainly adds to the claustrophobic feeling as the Marcel flings the car around the forests of Wales. Visibility isn’t too bad; we think we can owe that to the quality headlights on the car!

I’m usually crashing a lot too, always feel like a passenger in a car on DiRT ! May have something to do with using a T300 wheel on PS4 :)
