Sony Confirms Gran Turismo 5’s Presence at E3 2010

This isn’t so much “breaking news” as it is “peace of mind”: Sony has prominently featured GT5 on its special E3 2010 website (click and drag the page to view the top left corner). This is, of course, a pleasant change from last year, when Sony actually requested the press not ask Yamauchi about the big game during interviews for what are now obvious reasons. E3 kicks off with Sony’s press conference at 11:30 AM PST on June 15th. As always, I’ll have everything you need to know right here, updated by the minute on the (hopefully) big day…

They will be announcing an spinoff, Delay Trophy.

You’ll be in charge of a racing factory and you’ll have to delay the products as must as possible, without the potential buyers getting pissed.

The factory will be located next to Tokyo R246

Its absurd that the very people who will be buying products announced at E3 are barred from attending. Surely they can open parts of it up so gamers can get their hands on the latest games. Utter nonsense in my view.

  3. HaVoK_

Well, considering GT has been shown in E3 for the past 3 years, i wasn’t expecting anything different.

Any date before Christmas (December) is good for me…
I want Polyphony Digital to work as much on this game as possible. Work on every best detail and community wanted features.

    i heared the GT5 commercial again…

they’re just advertising the GT5 demo at the ring i think :(

  6. Watevaman

Have they ever given a car list prerelease?

I wasn’t around for E3s of the past games, but it seems unlikely they’d reveal everything like that.

  7. Ferrari

    Great!
do you guys think a official car list will be given at E3?

I reallly hope so, if they don’t give a car list I’m gonna guess this game will be postponed again

Cool but nothing to base our hopes on. Nintendo showed Metroid: Other M last year at E3, we still don’t have it. Microsoft showed Natal, still don’t have it. Sony shows GT5, and the wait continues?

a few minutes ago i heared a commercial of GT5 on a german redio station
it was played now during the 24h race of nuerburgring.

GT is “sponsoring” it. everycar has a GT5 banner…

the comercial was saying something like that: “Play the real driving simulator GT five now on PS3 blah blah”

so i want to play it NOW…^^

they are also advertising the Playstaion stand at the nordschleife now…

GT5 being at E3 2010 could be a short 30 second trailer, a few tid-bits of information and a “Q4 2010” release window. Just not getting any hopes up at all ;o)

The wait is almost over! It’s gonna be a long month, but I’m sure that the time has come for us to be blown away by gt5 info at 2010E3!This is it guys!!!!!

This is big news, this means GT5 is close, real close. At last years e3 if i’m not mistaken GT5 wasn’t mentioned by sony and only made a small appearance. Here it is front and center as one of the main events… only good will come of this, and about bloody time (im aussie so i can say bloody its coo)

Why’s my comment still awaiting moderation?
Guess Jordan is checking if I’m telling the truth, huh? :)

Actually that track isnt High Speed Ring because its going to the left not to the right, it looks more like that track from gt1 and gt2, Clubman Stage Route 5 but im not 100% certain. However about time it showed something new and all i gotta say is ………….. WOOOOOOOHOOOOO!!!

  15. magburner

Hahaha! Just loaded up the Sony website, and it said: “Sony make believe” sounds like the release date for GT5!

BTW, what track is that track that is displayed just before the video starts, as you scroll over?

  16. Martin

    Man, finally!
Although I would’ve been pretty disappointed if they wouldn’t show anything at E3.
Let’s just hope for some real good stuff, breathtaking in-game videos and a final release date.

By the way, the ADAC Zurich 24-Stunden-Rennen at Nürburgring is starting in three hours. The weather here in Germany is dark and rainy, in both the Eifel and here in Berlin, so we can expect some serious action!
I realised that a hell lot of cars and drivers are wearing the “GT” or “Gran Turismo” logo on their cars and jumpsuits. This either shows the popularity of the GT series or the amount of money that Sony is pumping into its advertisement. Nevertheless pretty impressing for a video game, isn’t it?

    Oh, and here’s Yamauchi’s team:
    “Team World Car Awards”

    Yamauchi, Kazunori – Japan
    Matsuda, Hideshi – Japan
    Lyon, Peter – Japan
    Mildenhall, Owen – Great Britain

They’re driving a Lexus IS-F with the number 72 in the SP8 class for close-to-production cars.

“One of the most highly anticipated games of all time” – Haha, so that was the real reason behind the long development time, the lack of information and the postponing of the Japanese release date: To tease the gaming community and break down our mental health to a degree where all we can do is sobbing softly in a corner and occasionally outburst: “When!? When!? Just tell me when!! My God, why hast thou forsaken me??”.

And all that just so they can say “One of the most highly anticipated games of all time”. Clever ^^

Hey Jordan is Sage going to talk with kaz yamauchi personally? If so have him ask kaz if he can can acknowledge GTPlanet in the GT5 since this is the best the site for gt on earth!!! Thanks again Jordan! U too Sage! And now the true countdown begins….mark your calanders everybody!!!!

  19. prazza

now all we need is a few more cars,an english track and the (shout) RELEASE DATE (unshout) and i will be pleased :)

  20. Tman

    I love u gtp!!
please bring more footage than last time..plZz
Thank you Jordan and you too Sage…

  21. Seismica

    It’s about time :)

Who from GTP is going to this again? Has he managed to get a press ticket?

    1. Jordan

Sage will (hopefully) be on the ground so that GTP can provide live, exclusive coverage of the show, Seismica. The E3 media approval process takes several weeks so we are still waiting for confirmation from the ESA.
