Xbox One Slim Revealed: $299, Available This August

The rumors have been rampant the past few months, of newer and/or improved consoles. While Sony may have stepped in to finally confirm the existence and development of NEO, Microsoft haven’t been sitting on their laurels as they’ve now confirmed a slimmed down variant of the One, named Xbox One S.

As previously suspected, the slimmer model is 40% smaller than today’s Xbox One console, supports 4K video, HDR capability for both videos and games, and features a 2TB internal hard drive – doubling the capacity of the latest model currently available.

Moving away from the bulky ‘power brick’ included with the console, the S model will feature an integrated power supply, in addition to an integrated IR Blaster, and a vertical stand, finally giving you a choice in how to display the console.

The Xbox One S doubles the storage space of any model currently available.

The improved controller comes outfitted with textured grips, much like the Elite controller, and the addition of Bluetooth connectivity, adding more wireless range and the ability to use the controller wirelessly with a Windows 10 PC.

The sleeker Xbox One S will be available this August for $299. The focal point of a wider strategy on the part of Microsoft, codenamed “Project Helix”, the intention is to make the two ecosystems a joint effort.

wasn’t the 2TB for the limited editions that go for 399$? The normal ones are the 1TB for 349$ and the 500GB for 299$ I thought
