Find a Gran Turismo 5 Demo Kiosk Near You

Headed out this weekend in search of the GT5 kiosk demo at your local at your local Best Buy or Target? It’s appearing at stores across the United States, but a lot of people out there are still having trouble finding it. To help out, take a look at GTPlanet’s GT5 Public Demo Locations Index, kindly organized and maintained here in our forums by paskowitz.

While this directory is certainly not comprehensive, paskowitz is working hard to ensure its accuracy and usefulness – you’ll even find a link to each store’s location on Google Maps so you can quickly figure out how to get there. Of course, the Index is entirely dependent on GTPlanet readers like you, and if you find a new playable demo in your area – please let him know! Good luck, and thanks to paskowitz for providing this handy service to the community!

Kokomo, Indiana has the demo. It is not worth it to go. The tv is really small and the controller is so mangled its not even funny:( Nov. 2 Come Soon!

    1. Bernd

I think it can last forever. New cars are coming each year.
New tracks will be built, with more and more details. Cars on track should more than double with each new console. One day, the power of a PS7/8/9/10 or whatever will even be able to handle the 200+ cars participating at the Nürburgring 24h :-D

    2. Maxiboy

Who will take the helm when Kaz retires? He wont be able to do it forever and it sounds like making GT5 is super intense and takes a massive amount of time.

    3. JustCause

PD Better start developing the PS4 GT now because there will be more crying for GT when the PS4 is released and then even more crying when its not up to everybodys standards to the PS4 games after years of development.

Also it will be just the same as GT5 when they first show videos and pictures of the game from the unfinished beta with people analyzing the crap out of thinking the unfinished beta will be the same as the finished game.

They need to start now to avoid the cry babies throwing their toys around.

  2. GT'ireland

great but i live in ireland,as long as my GT5 is delivered on november 5th then thats all good.thanks for the info jordan

  3. Mutimy

Honestly you guys have nothing to be upset about…ive played the demo twice now and the first time i was like “h3ll yeah” but after about 45 minutes i put it down and the second time i played about 5 minutes…..dont get me wrong im pumped more then ever after playing it but its just a “DEMO” you cannot complete a race which is real annoying, theres a time limit of about 2 minutes and 30 seconds MAYBE 3 minutes and then the screen goes black and goes back to the race menu screen. Its really only there to show you the night/day transition, the damage and a couple new cars/tracks.

Its cool to play but only the first time, the second time i just happened to be there.

Its not even released yet and most of the rest of the world gets better GT5 stuff like the signature edition and as far as im aware of everywhere but the US gets the Mazda 787B, Audi R10, and NSX GT500 “stealth” pre-order cars….im kinda bummed, i wanted the NSX GT500

    1. Sigmaviper11

Me too. We’ll most likely get them as dlc cars. At this point theres no reason why all the region games can’t have the same machines. Though I hear Gamestop is offering a stealth McLaren F1. I hope the MP4-12C shows up, but yea, thatNSX along with all the other stealths would be awesome, but, are they for simulation mode or arcade and are they just given to you or do you have to earn them in some way?

    2. Mutimy

I believe they are added to your garage and it should be for both…..you might just unlock it for purchase but im sure it goes directly in your garage.

and thats what i did, I preorder from gamestop to get the McLaren and nascar

  4. the big red dogg

I’ve been tryng to find one here in southeast Michichgan but so far no cigar. I live in Detroit so I’d bet the closest on would be Ann Arbor.

    You are one jelous kid

USA has one of the best stuff & hey we are going to be the first ones having the game inside our system:)

    USA is always first:)

    I hope you know why;)

    1. Justcause

LOL If you consider a 37 year old to be a kid then I am a kid. Also I am not jealous of the american people especially your cars. How come you americans need big engines for such small ammounts of horsepower. The Italians make a show of you americans 7.2 litre cars with 450 horsepower when a Ferrari with a 4 litre V8 has more power.

You would love to think americans has all the best stuff but you are in your own little fantasy world.

    2. Maxiboy

USA isnt always first … what about WW2? I seem to remember them being the LAST of the developed nations to decide whos side they wanted to join, and when it appeared the Allies were going to, they jumped on the bandwagon and claimed vicorty for themselves. The US didnt save anyone, they let everyone fight down to their last breath, then got involved and had the hide to hold the opinion they ‘saved’ the world. Pppfffttt

    3. Nemesis

      @xSTRAIGHTEDGEx: A very “mature” statement…

@JustCause: Take the chasis of a truck fit a 1990’s bigblock to it change it’s looks and you have a american car. I always take the mazda rx8 as an example a 1.3 liter (wankel) engine with 232 hp @ 8500 rpm. That’s about 180 hp per liter while a musle car averages at 65 hp per liter :)

  6. Oskierox

Add another best buy to the list!!!!!! 1960 road and cutten in Houston Texas!!! I played for about an hour and it’s absolutely fantastic!! I’ll post my 458 italia video around Tokyo soon!!

  7. ismellbacon611

i went to the bust buy in bloomingdale today and to my suprise, a rep from sony was there to help withsetup of the playstation move controller. i asked him about gt5 and he reconfirmed the release date several times, when i asked him about the demo he said he would speak with his district manager, and that the demo will be in bloomingdale in about a week or two!!!! can’t wait!!!

  8. xSTRAIGHTEDGEx

    Jordan just told em!!!

    Its true:)

50 more days for the midnight launch

I went to a Target here in San Diego,CA

They dont even have a ps3
    Nor an xbox360
    Nor wii

    Lol
    So i went to BB
    & they had a ps3
    But no GT5 demo

I been going to BB daily & nothing:(

    1. Justcause

I dont understand why people find the need to go to a store to buy a game at midnight. Even if the local games shop here in se Ireland has a midnight opening for GT% I will wait for the morning to buy the game. My sleep is more important than any game no matter how good it is.

    2. M Rated

I thought you said you were playing the demo at a Best Buy in San Diego. I even asked which store specifically you were playing at!

    3. Maxiboy

      @justcause
You gonna be able to sleep the night before it comes out?!? Sounds like valium is easier to get in Ireland than aust.

    4. JustCause

@Maxiboy: No I am not going to lose sleep over having to wait for the game. My life doesnt revolve around GT5 nor does my life depend on buying the gam at midnight. There are more important things in life than a console game.

  9. lone_racer

hey does everyone here have a racing wheel thats the only way to enjoy gran turismo you know and there’s none were i live :(

    1. Benny44

I have one. It made a HUGE difference in my lap times. I’m actually trying to sell it – it’s a homemade seat. We’re moving and our new place can’t fit my seat. I got the actual seat from an old Honda Accord. My family runs a muffler shop so my brother took exhaust pipe (about 20 feet in total) and bent, cut, and welded my frame together. We sanded it, primed it and painted it metallic blue. Then we welded the chair on so you could still adjust it, put a platform to mount the wheel on, and stuck on a dfgt wheel. Like I said, it made more difference in my time than I thought. In GT prologue, on the small, winding country course (can’t remember the name right now) I think I cut off like 7 secs. a lap. Anyway get one if you can.

  10. i n i t i a l

This is a great idea ! Thanks for this ! Ill tell you off the bat. I haven’t seen anything at best buy in miami nor miami beach !

  11. Polly

Why can’t we have a demo over here in England , can’t wait for this game + the cars u have won in prolouge do there run over into gt5 I herd this a long time ago but not herd owt since any1 know please put a post on here

    1. neem'

At first I figured it was so they controlled how long the demo was available for, but then I remembered the Indianapolis demo had a period of validity and after a certain date you couldn’t play it any more. I suppose in this case it’s a deal between the retailers and Sony to get GT fans into their shops, and from what I can tell from these comments, it’s working! Frankly if there were GT5 kiosks anywhere in the UK I’d probably be in those shops more than I’d be at home.

Do any UK people know if the SLS AMG Nürburgring demo is still at Mercedes Benz world?

    1. Andre

That’s a funny thing to say, especially on September 11th, Steven…
I sure prefer waiting for the demo to hit the PSN, standing here safely in Portugal ;-)

      Cheers

    1. Chris

Of course…we have to keep the USA happy you know!

Seriously though, it’s a bit of a ‘P’ take that they only seem to be promoting GT5 in the USA, while the rest of the world gets…well…nothing so far. Cheers PD!!!

    2. faraga

I have heard of Gamescom, but that’s in Germany, and I’m not prepared to take the train to visit a gamesevent outside of the Netherlands just yet. I would, though, like to see a booth in a Dutch gamestore, or at least anywhere in Europe, so I can hope it’ll come to my home country as well.
But apparently the world just forgets the fact that there are countries outside of the US.

    3. Reims

      You can’t be serious…

      One word, nae, continent: Australia.

How long would a train take to get to Germany from the Netherlands? Because it takes us Australians 14 hours to fly to America and 22 hours to fly to Europe. That’s the closest we are to a demo let alone a full on games convention.

    4. Jordan

It’s hard to listen to complaints from those of you who were eligible to participate in the GT Academy and the upcoming SLS AMG GT5 Signature Edition Challenge… :P

    5. HugoStiglitz_420

Tell em Jordan! LOL it’s completely true. I understand the dissapointment but this a demo at a store that is not reachable by our whole country. the GT Academy was something you could participate from home with your steering wheel, not some busted controller on a bad a TV. plus this is what, 2 or 3 times get cheated out of massive GT competitions? I’m not complaining, I’m grateful we have the demo as you should grateful for having these competitions & the signature edition gt5

  12. Vivian

well…realistic and beautiful game WITH nascar. sony will be stupid if they don’t advertising it in USA. maybe next time there will be V8 super-cars for Australia or Le Mans Series, then they will be advertising in europe and usa.

  13. Mickeyd

A little off subject but I couldn’t find a thread for it.. Just discovered that they have hacked the ps3.. But I guess they’ll just make you update your ps3 to play this game… If it’s just the online part then I’ll probley just live without that, probley buy a 2nd ps3 to play gt5 and have a hacked one there to play everything else offline :)

    1. Reims

What the hell are you talking about and what does this have to do with GT5?

And FYI, illegal software isn’t viewed highly with the people on this website.

    2. d3br34k5

      Welcome to two weeks ago.

And the proponents of this hack try and rationalize that they’re doing it for ‘homebrew’ software. /roll eyes

This is the second piracy reference in this thread alone.

    3. neem'

Maxiboy, first of all I’m sure you’ll find that although you own the unit, you don’t own the software it runs. I don’t mean games, I mean the actual PS3 OS; I don’t know about Microsoft but technically speaking you only lease Mac OSes from Apple, I’d imagine Windows is the same, thus meaning they can take away your privileges to use the software if they see fit. Read the PS3 EULA and I’m sure you’ll read something to that effect. Of course, by using the PS3 you agree to the EULA, and by agreeing to their terms you won’t have a leg to stand on if you break them and suffer any consequences.

Secondly, hacking the PS3 isn’t a massive problem as long as no one uses it to start stealing games, and come on, how many people do you think will actually genuinely only use the PS3 for ‘homebrew software’? That is piracy and the PS3 Jailbreak is opening the floodgates for the PS3 to become what the PSP did; in other words a platform which generated very little revenue for any developers due to the huge amount of piracy going on. Without cracking the PS3 it will remain profitable for every developer currently making PS3 games and therefore they will continue making games instead of giving up and moving on to another, more secure, platform.

In other words, unless you’re a child with no real income, piracy is very much not in your best interests, I don’t understand why people defend it.

    4. Mickeyd

@Reims – that’s why I said it was “off subject”..? Anyway hopefully you don’t have as much trouble reading this post.. I think the ps3 hack is great news, and like I said above I’d be willing to buy a new ps3 just for online gaming and another for offline games. I had a mod chip in my old ps2, and my iPhones jailbroken, there’s just no better way to live I’m sorry.

    5. Maxiboy

      @neem
Yeah I totally agree that piracy is, in the long run, damaging for everyone involved in or with the gaming industry, and agree that it IS illegal to steal games, but the point I was sort of getting at is that you own the consol and you do infact have the right to load any software you like onto it . Its what you use that software for that could be illegal.

  14. ponyhorse

so bestbuy & target has this demo, but sony stores dont have this game? neways the bestbuy mentioned here is it only in the US or canada as well?

  15. syaieya

Oh cool, one of the pictures I took ended up as the main image for this article. The 46″ Bravia at that store is good but the volume is down really low so you can’t get much use out of that sound bar and subwoofer.

  16. Devin

Best Buy on S. Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando, FL has the demo, just finished an hours playing on it. Sad to say driving the NASCAR around Rome was the most fun thing on the demo, and the NASCARs sound the most like their real counterpart too, which is disappointing.

  17. GTbyPlaystation

Lol. I love the link to the other post. Allow me to quote:

    -AU
    – :(

    Australia misses out. Yet again..
I guess I’ll have to wait till I can actually play the whole game.

  18. paskowitz

So far the rest of the world is not getting much GT5 demo love. As par for the course with anything related to video games.

  19. madaz75

Would love to have a copy of the disk here in Australia. A local game store is piecing together Sim-Racer seat and wheel combo leading up to GT5’s release as part of an in-store promo.
The GT5 Kiosk demo would be perfect for it.
