GT5 Preview in Next Month’s Official PlayStation Magazine

June 9th, 2009 by Jordan

playstation-offiical-magazine-logoNot long after the dust settled at E3, people started to ask when we could expect the next batch of news from Yamauchi and his team at Polyphony Digital.  It didn’t take much time to find out: the PlayStation Official Magazine is expected to preview Gran Turismo 5 in next month’s issue.  Of course, there are no guarantees as to what this “preview” will contain – indeed, it may simply be a re-hashing of what we already learned at E3.  With that said, it makes sense for Sony to drive “official” magazine sales by using its own media property to announce new information.  Keep a close eye on those newsstands!

I saw this get mentioned somewhere aswell. Is this to be the July Issue thats already out at the moment here in the UK or is this the August Issue which gets released in July? Sorry bit confused. The July Issue here at the moment has a Preview of COD Modern Warfare 2 and Fifa 10 Etc but I didnt see any mention of the Front Gold cover of GT5 at all? If someone could clear this up for me i’d be greatly appreciated :)

  7. Jordan Says:

@Marky: I’m not sure about which specific issue will include the preview. It’s not the new issue that is just now hitting store shelves, though – it’s the next one.

@tsuchiya: Nobody knows if Porsche or Lamborghini will be in the game at this point.

  18. STEPHEN M Says:

for all us GT fans….better mention a release date

  19. AngerdX Says:

Don´t count on a release date anytime before October, and PD would never announce it in a magazine but rather at an event, now which one is the question!

But atleast we will get some deeper info in OPM i hope!

  20. lock_down Says:

A 2009 release is a cast iron lock.

    I think that’s clear.

  21. seinfeld Says:

kaz said to that guy who got to visit PD studios, that it will be released sooner then you think, and we will do it as a surprise so its gana be announced in the next month

  28. DarkMan Says:

How many times I have to say that GT5 will be released 25.9.2009? The information that I have are 100% right. I look forward to as much as you do and i have no reason to lie.

  29. Jack_uk Says:

who is your source? I think you could be correct & its a real possibility

  30. DarkMan Says:

My source is a man who works as a software engineer in a software company that makes part of the game engine for PD. Now get ready for the GT test. Testing should be completed by 18.7.09, the game could be released 25.9.2009.

  31. Jack_uk Says:

Thankyou for telling us this. Do you know if OPM is one of the testers? Plus what software company is he working for?

  32. STEPHEN M Says:

can anyone source their claims? where the hell has a release date 25-09-09 come from?

  33. Jack_uk Says:

Of course, there are no guarantees as to what this “preview” will contain – indeed, it may simply be a re-hashing of what we already learned at E3. – YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!
