A new Seasonal Event has just gone live in Gran Turismo 5, featuring classic (pre-1979) Japanese cars in the following events. Tuning is allowed up to 450PP with unlimited tire selection.
- Tsukuba Circuit (5 laps, 166,100 Cr.)
- Suzuka Circuit East (5 laps, 150,000 Cr.)
- Trial Mountain Circuit (5 laps, 170,500 Cr.)
- Clubman Stage Route 5 (5 laps, 159,400 Cr.)
- Toscana Pavement 110A (5 laps, 185,300 Cr.)

1974 Lancer Rally Car did it without tuning.
I won against the dome zero with an old tuned skyline GTR.
I got bored of winning so when I got in first I’d go through and spin anybody who passed me while I slowed. :D

Alot of people complain about so much focus on Japanese cars and events. I am somewhat disappointed in the lacking of certain classic Japanese car content. No BRE Datsuns, no Newman Racing Nissans, no Shelby 2000GTs. Not all of Japan’s racing history was confined to its own country and some of the coolest Japanese race cars were run in other countries. Polyphony needs to stop modeling only what is immediately outside of the windows of their offices.

I’m happy with anything they send our way. I just play the game, knowing I’m not the one putting in countless hours trying to please a bunch of ungrateful fair weather fans. still amazes me that I own a game, that after almost 1 year, I still look forward to playing after work almost daily! Thanks PD. I would love to send some more money your way for even more cars and some classic Gran Turismo tracks!

i cant beat the dome zero…in a dome zero stock on tskuba on comfort soft…why is this. also scrap the seasonals and bring race events with tyre imitations. currently the seasonal time trials with actual online board are great.. but problem is they get removed after a few weeks, all that hard work rising the online ranks…gone. and the seasonals just seem like a quick cash maker every 2 wks…i rarely replay them, as online is better. pls some more races. not just repeatedly beating the ai or in the case of this seasonal…the guy is off into the distance.

this is my favourite game by far but i did a truck race on dirt 2 the other day then did these races this morning and felt sad at how cold the AI feels. also i made the mistake of buying test drive unlimited 2. how bad can handling be? bajesus! got me thinking though, if kaz made this game it would be beyond compare. even if there was traffic on special stage route 7 it would be immense, gt5’s physics make me impressed every time i drive so putting them in less traditional situations would be ace. as for the idea of gt5 driving physics in a gta game, i don’t think i have the vocabulary to express how good that would be!!!

Hahaha…. If GTA 5 had GT5 physics, you would never need to buy another game…..ever! Pity GTA5 is unlikely to be released until 2013… Annoys me that they have relaeased the trailer when the game release likely to be over a year away – Rockstar are dirty teasers…. reminds me a bit of waiting for GT5 lol…
As much as im not a Forza fan 4 fan, I watched a mate of mine doing a ‘rival’ race; him against another car, on the ring, but with loads of traffic (same direction) to overtake. I have to say, it looked great fun, except for the movement of the car which still looks all wrong… great concept though.
The producers of Forza have borrowed ideas from the GT series for years.. What’s the harm in ‘borrowing’ a few of their better ideas back?…. food for thought Kaz?
Before I start I just want to say gt is my favourite game of all time, the amount of hours I have spent on it is shocking but I have to admit that gt5 is really only half a game and ppl must realise this and stop moaning, it is what it is.
Just read kaz’s q+a he even says that there are 800 standard cars because they didn’t have time to render them in premium! They could of done soooooo much better in nearly every part of the game but it took them 4+ years to bring this edition out , and I’m convinced they released it early because of the out cry from all the fans, I give up last time when they delayed release for another year and went out and brought an xbox just to play on forza.
I LOVE both games but when forza can bring out 2 games in the same time gt manages one and only being half done I just don’t get it? Its not like forza is crap, it has beautiful cars good selection of tracks, great online etc.
Anyway I just want gt6 to be the mind blowing game we all know it should be, everybody knows what it should be like so lets hope kaz is going to give us the greatest racing game ever!!! (plz no more 70 variations of the same car, or make a europe version for the supercar lovers :)

The thing I hate about these events is that al the 5 races are al the same for 450 pp, why not more choices like 1 race for 450pp the next 550pp and so on.
Better make the races open to all cars and just set PP and HP, and then give my 5 different races with different PP and HP. I want to be able to race different cars and al my cars.
And PLEASE PD make them more difficult then they are now, racing with comfort tyres is A joke. Especially when on car takes of into the distance. I like close racing and A fight.

Chasing that lead car that pulls a mile ahead is MIND MELTING. Why in the world do they continue to program the A.I. to do that?
Dear PD- make that ‘leader pulling away by miles’ a rare occurence. As it stands in GT5, that happens in 90% of the races. Why?
It’s called a rabbit car and is easy lazy way to program Ai.
I think you will find its due to the fact there is nothing in front to hold it up so it can pull away from the pack
Dude. Your whining about something you can fix yourself. Adjust your pp bro and the tires your using until it’s competitive. Try running a stock car etc. I whine about a lot of stuff with this game, but hating on seasonals is dumb. They increase in difficulty from left to right, unless of course your a beast on trial mountain or whatever course, but they can be dialed in if your willing to quit a few races until you have found a competitive balance.
Anywhere from 10-30 pp down will do the trick and force you to get good runs off the corners.
The best thing about this game is that if you run with the AI at their pp level. You will learn and improve. Not always possible in the A-spec offerings, but definitely in the seasonals.
Tonight on Man vs boring racing game: I try to stay awake while driving another 5 laps of the lamest and most overused race track of em all… Its the Nippon Crap Car @ Tsukuba Challenge! Let the yawning begin!
Pretty funny, but a little bit over the top. Try adjusting your pp if you want more interesting races. They are there.
i love classics, but this is one of the most uninteresting seasonals yet. Oh, and PD, please stop using Tsukuba!!!!! I am so sick of that track!! Give us a reason to whip out the DLC cars!!!!!

For me personally, this is a welcome event. There’s plenty of classic jap cars in my garage which I’ve not used yet. Classics are great to drive, the have a more ‘loose’ behavior that demands a different driving style. A welcome challenge imo
