Still struggling to gold the gt3 and huayra overtake races got the lancia and jaguar. I did finally find a way to win the nurb survival race but didnt get the 200% log in bonus so have to do it again, not sure why but only got 550k im going to do it in a bit again and it better give it to me. I really didnt want to use the same car for suzuka so not sure what ill use. It took me a long time to finally gold the nurb just couldnt find the right car(im no expert and am not going to use some lm type car to win in like the mazda or toyota which I saw a lot of when I checked here to get ideas I was looking for something that was going to challange me and probobly make me do it 100 times till I got it) anyway the stealth gt500 GT-R ended up being perfect for me. I tried the subaru touring for the awd but couldnt keep pace enough. Now I want to try something different for suzuka preferably a non gt500 car if I can if not thought about stealth NSX or toms supra. I really hope these seasonals keep paying out like these I really want the Miura nd the 20 mil ferrari and still dont have the chapparels and few other high priced cars and need some credits. It was nice getting the Jag for a 20mill prize.

That Huayra one was a nightmare. The broken AI which shoves you off the track or into the wall or turns in on you at every opportunity does not help.

Man I must admit Im struggling with the holiday seasonals both sets have been tough for me especially that jaguar overtake. I got the drift ones which I hate drifting but managed to get them fairly easily its the ovetake and 10 lap races Im struggling to get gold in. I really want them credits I have all the cars except the Jaguar but it would still be nice to get the cars and mabey sel them.

With a GT 500 cars like the HSV-010, start on racing soft and get as many positions as you can get in the dry and the early rain of the first shower. Once the tires begin to lose grip (which is after the track wetness or gets close to 30%), come in for a pit stop and change to intermediates. This will be your only pit stop (I know the tires wear is fast, but it will save you time and give you the win) . Then as you complete laps the first shower makes the track wetness in the 70% range. Then the rain will stop and it will become dry, but not completely at 0%. You should be 1st or close to it. Keep those intermediates on, because another rain shower is on its way. That shower makes the track wetness in the 70% range as well, the the rain will stop, drying the track. After this, your around the end and the intermediates really begun to wear off. The car make sure you keep your car on the track. Then, the second place car will come to take 1st from you online last lap, so you must block him because his tires are way better than yours. It gets hard to stay on track, but battle to block him and you win. Simple and fair enough…

LM55 RS, no pitstop… tyre management important.

I always begin these races with an appropriate car; SuperGT for SuperGT races, LMP car for LMP races. Sometimes their easily won, sometimes it’ll take more than an hour. By then, I’m in an overclassed car, as mentioned above. Zero headway was made using the Nissan and Lexus SuperGT cars. The sector times would flash… 27, 35, 42secs behind the lead car. I can take only so much humiliation ;)

FiveHundred, 550 and 600 street car races can be easily won by tuning your whip to the pp maximum. I prefer to use minimum (stage1(?)) tuned machines here. Maxing out a fwd Honda to schooch around Vipers and Corvettes feels ridiculous to me.

PD has improved the online races. Even the quick races are fun, in their arcadian way.

I did Suzuka 10 laps with Honda Weider and failed several times on intermediates… Then switched to TS030 (still intermediates) and won with a 70 second margin and 21:10min total. Made a pit at the end of round 6 to get new tires, no fuel. Although both cars had 600pp the difference was massive.

Wow, These survival races are NO JOKE, the best place I got on the 1st survival race a week ago was last, but I only tried it once and didn’t have time, will have to see if it’s still there. This new one at Suzuka my best is 2nd place. What kind of strategy are the rest of you guys running?

Good job PD for making some races that are real challenging. The feel of the offline grip when it’s soaking wet on the rain tires and the dry line grip to slip on racing slick tires is well done I’m frustrated and pleased at the same time.

You can get your login bonus to maximum from nothing in 90 minutes if you time it right – you don’t need to wait for five actual days.

Set your PS3’s timezone to the one that will reach midnight next, login to GT6, wait for midnight, navigate to anything and then return to the Home screen, receive login bonus, manually save, quit and set the PS3’s timezone to the one that will reach midnight next. Lather, rinse, repeat.

    2. Scheer

Thanks so much Famine, I did not know that could be done! N00b here. Been sitting out (or unable to access thanks to LS) seasonals over Xmas, I can now go get my million billion credits :-) Merry Festives to you, Jordan and all at GTP!

    3. Scheer

Just have to add that there has been little mention here of the LS XBL and PSN attacks that have probably affected most of us all over the past few days. It even made BBC News (with interviews!). I understand not wanting to get involved, but they were A Thing that affected many GT6 players over the holidays. What are your opinions?

    1. DeadlyDemon

If you want a good drift car, you should try the Toyota RSC Concept. Tried the event about 25 times in a silvia, after about 4 tries in the RSC I won with 300 extra points. It is 4WD which is a little less desirable for drift events, but it does it so well. Almost feels like you are driving a big version of Ken Block’s fiesta.

    1. Keithdoom

Progress823 is talking about the S-class races not the license test. They all have tire wear and fuel consumption.

    2. kaori

OK I know that, there are only 9 events with some bugs, like slick tires faster than the intermediate or extreme, even if the humidity of the track is 100%. With the IA pitting every lap…
So yes Survival race should be an option in arcade mode, where we can choose every track, every car.

  7. MGTTTTT

Congratulations must go to Polyphony Digital for really giving us what everyone has been asking for with these seasonals. The longer 10 lap race, tire wear and weather change make a huge difference. Also the ai of the cars seems a little improved with cars maintaining decent pace and not just falling back when you overtake. More of the same please PD

  8. Tuppence870

PSN is back, but I missed my daily bonus by 5 minutes. Guess I’ll have to wait till Saturday to try the seasonals and Mazda.

  9. Whodoyouthink

Oh boy these sounds interesting. And those payouts! Hope the PSN attack (or whatever is keeping it down) ends soon so we can play!

The Speed 8 used for the Nurburg 600 failed me at Suzuka last night. Sleeped on it and decided upon wakening to try the LM55 time trial.

Considered matching the 55 with latest Audi and Toyota prototypes and concluded that the AWD Mazda didn’t jive well… however, it was looking kinda similar in size to the RedBull Jr car in the garage so that may be a reason to keep it. I tend to sell cars that stand alone. At 717ppo, the RB and Mazda racers felt promising as a pairing at AutumnRing mini with times in the 0:33s and 0:31s respectfully. Both had virtually the same suspension setups.

Back to Suzuka, with the Mazda VGT this time… I’m sure that awd system saved my butt many times over those slippery (and relocating) spots. Luckily those RS tyres lasted the entire race. Good luck using anything else.

I’d say well done PD but it’s a mismatch for me. Using a prototype to beat up on SuperGTs doesn’t appeal to my intellect. I don’t dig bullies. Why not 20mil credits for a 1hr race?

  12. sorg

Great! The second interesting VGT car. Too bad, only two – Chaparral and Mazda. Other bubble-kind VGT are ugly and uninteresting.

Pagani event locks up slim model PS3 after multiple attempts. I use interior view whereas bumper cam may not lock it up. Be sure to save progress before attempting. I tried downgraging to 1080i and disabled background music. Turning off music allows more attempts but will eventually overheat system. My system is cleaned out and has decent airflow.

    1. GTO_VR4

Yeah my slim model is locking up as well. I use bumper cams. I dont know about overheating though. Temps seem normal.

    2. sind3ntosca

Yeah me too!! Lock several times, i had to hard reset… but mine is FAT PS3 40GB, very early model. Maybe i should try 720p.

  14. BrunetPaquet

I’m not doing these race events… just plain and simple. The moment I’ll try this survival race the panic’ll fill me up…. seriously, ten laps without the slightest collision or you get ejected? Scrapes and dents happen everyday in the world of racing… whatever.

Just my 2¢ here. Gonna play something else than racing games, I’ll need it.

    1. Scheer

No, you don’t get ejected from the race for a collision or track excursion. Give it a try, I’ve never had so much fun coming last the first time I tried the Nurburgring survival race. Finally some challenging seasonals with big prizes. Check the forums for the best car/tyre choices.

    2. Croatian_STIG

The opponents are decent drivers, they’ll even get in your way so the game thinks you rammed them and penalise you. -_- ffs

    3. BrunetPaquet

Well then, I’ll try it out I guess now that I know that there’s no eject. Still… it’s weird that the game treats the A.I. like kings and the players like peasants concerning this penalties thing…

Once again, getting punished for scratching or accidentally colliding isn’t right to me… It happens everyday. Sure, a big collision or something wanton like a full-blown ram should be severely punished, but when it’s something tight, they can’t just expect spic ‘n span.

    1. GTO_VR4

Yeah, the drift challenge was extremely easy. With the 200% login bonus, gold got me 3.4 million credits. If I can get gold on the rest of the challenges, I’m going to be one rich mutha effer!
