I think it’s time for the Cts V, BMW M5 F10, E63amg,ZL1 Camaro & GT500 to show up in the next DLC! We’ve had some Italian,German & Japan models, It’s time for United States to show face in my opinion!!

  2. SmellyWallrus

More dog sh1t B spec races, again same PP limits, how boring. Come on Kaz get a grip and give us some real decent racing.

  3. DYLAN777-is-not

It would be nice if the b-spec had a change in performance points for ONCE. B-spec is just good free money in my mind and afun way to watch your favorite car race, but it would be nice if they would put 550pp or 600pp etc, so i can use my supercars or highly tuned sports cars. The SAME pp EVERY time is gettin old. And as for forza 4, its a good car game NOT a good racing game plain and simple.

  4. makisferrari

Does everyone knows about the new DLC?it is boring without updates…on forza 4 they put 10 new cars with 7euro….i hope for a new update or DLC for more action….

    1. TokoTurismo

I was told by Uppmas it was a good thing, and I agree with him for it. :) It’s PD’s idea to keep us from going at them to release something in a rush to the open. Remember GT5’s release? That’s why. This April, lets try not to get to hyped, so us and no one won’t fall into disappointment.

  5. TokoTurismo

Okay guys, it’s up in the feedback section. It’s called “Seasonal Event Idea”. :) Who knows, you’ll may like it yourself.

    1. Foxiol

I´ll never going to do that. That´s why i have my PC with tons of other racing games as a complement for what it is missing in GT5.
For the sound and having fun racing against AI i play Race 07 / GTR Evolution / GTR2. For point to point races and the best physics i play rFactor and rFactor 2 (despite the graphics). And many more but still i have my hopes for GT6.

GT only needs real engine sounds, livery editor and more tuning options + race modifications, event creator, a better track editor (which is also a new feature and it is going to get better for the future), a new car list with all cars premium (no excuses from PD anymore and despite if they don´t reach the 1000+ cars mark again), remake of the entire tracks of the series and the old licence system. (i played GT5 as i did with the previous games…first i got gold on every licence before start playing and it took me the entire first week, but i knew that it was not important as in GT4 for example).

If PD fails with all that (i think it is what everyone wants) it is going to loose, i don´t know if fanatics, but it is going to loose adepts for sure.

    2. TomBrady

a better idea is hooking your g27 to your computer and getting some PC sims. rfactor, LFS, and netkar pro all have demo’s for you to try the physics and test your computers abilities.

Forza 4 is not the answer unless you’re more into unrealistic driving games with a touch of realism. Forza is really only a small step above Grid or the TOCA series. It’s bright shiny with all the cool features but it fails where it matters, gameplay. Plus the track list is unimpressive.

Go for netkar pro. It’s got the best physics of any simulator to date, incredible force feedback, great graphics (for the PC), and it will run on even the most basic computers. Plus over 50 free add on tracks, and recently, an add on car (gallardo balboni) with more to come.

if you want to play a sim on your xbox, don’t waste your time with forza, get Race Pro for simulation, and get Test Drive Unlimited 1 to satisfy your arcade racing craving.

    3. TokoTurismo

First try out Modnation Racers for the PS3. Best kart racer to create your imaginations for racings. (PS3 Only)

    4. HKSBro92

@MuoNiuLa Nevermind him. People bash Forza for being unrealistic because of the rewind feature. Yeah the physics arent as real as GT but its not like you could drift a corner at 200mph like Midnight club.

    5. MuoNiuLa

@HKS: Yeah. I have no problem if people prefer GT’s physics over Forza’s. But I really have to question people who go so far as to say Forza is unrealistic or arcade.

    6. TomBrady

      @Muonila
have you ever raced a real car? do you use a controller or something? Forza just isn’t even close to the real thing. it’s semi-realistic, but still unrealistic. it’s not hyped fast like grid or pgr 4 but it’s still just way too forgiving and inaccurate to be called realistic. Even shift 2 with it’s floatiness is “realistic” compared to forza. I’ve just never liked how it fronts as a sim but it’s really not even close.

  6. colj00

Wow people gotta stop hatin’. its a great game, im glad PD give us fresh events every week. even if they are lacking, they aint ignoring the game.

    1. TokoTurismo

That is true what PD is doing, and I like it. They should start releasing A-Spec and B-Spec together, and TT and DT by themselves as separate. Doesn’t that sound better? Maybe I should put that in the feedback section. Make sure to vote it guys, please and thank you.

This will give PD time and peace to make up the event creator.

  7. kalboski69

GT5 is a great game but I just don’t see the fun of B spec. If I want to watch people other than me driving a race I will watch F1 or even other GT5 racers online. Fair enough, others may like it but come on PD – there is no way it should get anything like the attention it currently gets in the Seasonals.

    1. spikeyhairdude

Its for people who dont have the time to race. I like b spec races alot as i can put it to race then walk away and do something else. Not everyone in the world has time for racing and getting money or leveling up.

  8. Olegonic

So, instead of PD create a really GOOD game , WE have to be MORE CREATIVE to make GT5 more interesting?!?!
Is it future of next years gaming?

    1. GT_Die_Hard

Yea i’m looking out for those events too! But not in a standard fiat 500 which takes 15 minutes to complete, but maybe some stock supercars (: Those are the only challenging AI races…

  9. Maddens Raiders

DLC – the scourge of modern day gaming. Look at all the folks in here griping about DLC. Why don’t some of you all get together and run 50 laps at Sarthe or Spa in prototypes with full simulation on? (Insert ridiculous excuse here)
Good God when is enough enough guys?

When they release it, they release – in the meantime there’s soooooooooooooo much more to do in this awesome game besides complain. Hell, I’m away on business right now and can’t even play this wonderful game, but I do travel w/ my PS3 and have the game on in the background just so I can hear the awesome soundtrack & watch my purchased episodes of GTTV.

I know, I know most of you hate that too because PD just sucks & it was all a terrible idea right? Man, if I were them, I wouldn’t ever release DLC to any of you spoiled brats. Not all of you obviously.

    1. DA6righthand

      I agree with you 95%…

People act like the only thing to do is the career mode. I stopped playing career mode once I discovered organized series and found a group of people I enjoyed racing with. It’s much more fun than racing a computer driver.

    2. Maddens Raiders

Well, thanks righthand. I dunno… maybe I’m just an old school GT addict but I find racing online (when I can) w/ my mates or even compete strangers HIGHLY satisfying. I’m not a mean racer either. If I can tell someone is not up to speed I will adjust my entry to make it as close as possible. In the instance where I may go up against other apt driver’s (that I don’t know) I just race as hard as I can and thoroughly enjoy the competition and even look for things to learn that I may have been taking for granted or getting lazy on…

Maybe I’m just an old school gamer that cherished racing against my buddies (sitting right next to me) in 2P battles back in the day & saving my games on memory cards with no AUTOSAVE or checkpoints & no thought or hint of anything called DLC. It was the game [GT] I wanted, so it was the game I played over & over & over again until the next iteration came along….. gamers have become too dependent on DLC and not appreciative of what’s there. This is the MW/COD effect I think. I can’t even begin to imagine how difficult it is to create a “game” like GT5 and maintain the high level of integrity in their product, yet some of you want them to spit stuff out like they’re bottling water… gah just give it time ppl and get back to the track & race some humans!

      /rant

  10. biftizmo

well i;m disappointed with you all..sitting around moaning about D.L.C…A-spec..B-spec…gt6 gt7 gt8..ps4 ps5…get with it…this is it …You need to get a bit more creative the game is just the start.not racing A.I for ever…
have you all forgotten your connected to the internet…get out there race real people .. there’s an online revolution going on…
try facebook type in GT5 ..see what you get ..create your own events, even make your own tracks..set the regulations even change the god dam time and weather..if you got time to moan about it then your not doing it right…ha ha…

    1. MuoNiuLa

Love how a lot of people tell others to stop complaining and to just race online, as if it’s the grand answer to all our problems. Not everyone cares about racing online. People play this game for different reasons, like the career mode.

    2. MyFavoriteGame

^This…Online can be fun, but so is aggressive and challenging AI. Have you played race driver GRID?, not the most realistic game, but damn,…that AI would keep you on edge for 10 laps!

    3. researchALLwars

online blows. The true physics are MISSING online. All of your opponents are jumping around and going in and out of existence like quantum particles!

      Donkeysnacks!

    4. DA6righthand

That’s funny, I’ve had a fine experience racing online. If you’re a competitive person, online is where it’s at. Open your mind and go race online. Don’t hate on it because you tried it and got beat.

    5. MyFavoriteGame

Dude no ones trying to fight you here, everyone’s just stating their opinions, “If you’re a competitive person, online is where it’s at” WTF?…who says? I’ve played quite a few racing games which have very competitive AI which GREATLY test my skill (Like the aforementioned GRID)….No one mentioned anything about getting beat, he only complained about the lag (which is valid), why you tryna start ish, your comment is completely unwarranted. If you enjoy online and its your preferred method of racing, then that’s fine, but some of us would really appreciate better AI.

I’m a member of a race club, which was formed right here on GTP, great group of guys, very good racers too. We all have fun racing and holding regular events, everyone races to win, no ones a sore loser….clean racing and good fun. but what about Tuesday mornings when I’m off work and no ones online?, do I go into the lobby and search random races?….join random rooms?, yeah?, because that’s “fun” right?….I’ll pass. To each his own son.

    6. Maddens Raiders

“go I go into the lobby and search random races?….join random rooms?, yeah?, because that’s “fun” right?….I’ll pass.”

but what’s wrong with that lol? note: I don’t think this was directed toward me, but just wanted to say I’m not trying to fight anyone here at all. I love GT but it’s not worth fighting over.

    7. Quakebass

I’ve found a “challenge” with AI on Route X; you don’t need to do much; just find a car that will have AI with a very close performance range; it turns into a slipstream race, and the AI aggressively cut you off after passing, and there’s a good amount of rubbing and bumping; sometimes the cars put you into a fishtail or spinout. The only problem is the lack of corners, and it can get boring after a certain amount of time. I try different performance ranges and start experimenting with the transmission; I usually set it to a high top speed to allow a large amount of speed to build up in a slip stream, pass the opposition, then lose speed as I exit the slipstream, and the opposition catches back up. because all of the AI are doing this, theres cars flying past you, and cars coming back at you.

I do have issues with online; there seems to be a slightly different feel, like the grip acts slightly different… I’m not exactly sure what it is. What I am 100% sure of, though, is that you can’t roll the car over online. There’s been a few moments online where there should’ve been a rollover (two people in front of me collided on Daytona and hit the upper wall of the banking and just flew through the air, parallel to the ground. Rollovers allow much more excitement in racing, even for clean racers. I usually like to use my personal challenging custom tracks; there’s several places where you can make a mistake, go off the racing line, and get in a messy accident… in arcade, me and the AI are able to get in rollovers with these mistakes, and its terrifying fun to have to avoid spinning AND rolling cars; I just want all of the physics that you get from offline races in online races… I don’t know why it isn’t this way already.

  11. montecarlo87

I gave up on B spec races on level 15 offline. We don’t need a game full of watching others drive your cars and more championships to race on our own.

  12. 555WorldRacing

i actually fell asleep during a 3 lap b spec around london, that is how boring b spec is but i understand it can be useful at times

  13. Moglet

More B-Spec? Seriously? This just as Forza 4 gets Porsches and a new car pack with a great combination of race and road cars from around the world, all fully modifiable. Oh, and you can apply your own liveries to them. There’s no contest for me anymore. If GT5 didn’t have such a good photo mode I would never even play it anymore.

  14. leeson65

    I can’t believe I’m saying this:

I’m tired of Gran Turismo Five.

It would be so simple to make this game so much better, yet… we get more of the same tired events.

I really don’t think anyone who works at PD ever actually plays GT5. If they did, they would know how unnecessary racing suits and b-spec is, and spend five minutes creating some fun challenges.

Until the game changes drastically, I’m pretty much done with it.

    1. Lambofanghini

Go play something else then come back. I do sometimes, usually when I’m unwilling or having difficulty beating an event. But this is still by far my mostest faaaavoritest game to play, and I have the whole collection of GT but haven’t played a GT this long since GT1. When I’m ready to drive I’m like the Stig on the test course, but when I’m not my lambos bite me in the butt and throw me in the ditch noob style. Love this game and it’s replays.

  15. honda32v

Bspec arrive is ok, odd of 400,500,600….no exticed news yet about dlc…..going be three months now…..what happen? Maybe no time between dlc and working on new GT6. I don’t think GT6 come this year but I want DLC now. Call them now and bring the news. Will this game appoved Porsche what Foreza did…40 Porsche will be nice than they getting 30 in May by Foreza. Porsche 959 oh yea…….

    1. Quakebass

DLC would actually be Net-On schedule if it falls in April… remember that after the December DLC we got January DLC… so DLC 3 was 1 month early. If DLC 3 followed the “2 month schedule”, then it would’ve been in February, and DLC 4 would be in April. If the DLC comes out early April it will still be about 2 weeks ahead of the 2 month schedule, just not 2 months after the last DLC. If DLC 4 comes out after April 18, then it will be behind schedule. I’m just a impatient for DLC, but you’ve got to consider the facts. I just hope we get a large bundle whenever it comes out, because PD’s had a good amount of time on their hands. I’d like it to be bigger than DLC 2, with only 4 cars… it was a bit of a disappointment, except for the wheel changing on standard cars. I’m hoping for 1-3 tracks (it could include multiple layouts like with Kart Space 1 and 2) and 6 – 10 cars. I don’t know what’ll actually BE in the upcoming update, but I hope a paint shop and simple livery editor (simple as far as adding a stripe or two or other decal/shape and being able to paint it), and some more aero kit and race-moddable cars. It would be nice for Porsche to find a place in GT5…

    2. honda32v

Yea I would love to paint a livery sponsorship like Vodafone, Marlboro, Red Bull or many kinds of livery to paint on the road car to look into race car by any sponsorship livery…why not?

  16. Giygas

I still dont mind the b spec races at all, but i feel this uniform idea of 400, 500 and 650pp is getting old fast.

An endurance race would be nice too, but im not aware if there are any limits on how long a seasonal can be.

Also the prizes seem kind of weak, but at least most of the time its not a car i already own.

    1. Dekropttiv

Me too. Quite honestly I’m kinda sick of GT5 in general. Some epic DLC has to come out soon to keep me entertained…

    2. carfanatic45

+1 Ive goten to the point where all i have left is endurance races and they’re all the ones over 2hrs (except Miata 4hr). i did the Nurburg 4hr but it froze halfway into tthe race write as i entered the pits. I was so maad i stopped all endurance races all together and resorted to photo taking. For some reason I CAN NOT win the A-Spec or B-Spec challenges at all! With or wothout my wheel. So now for racing games i’m playing Shift 2.

    3. Quakebass

I think B-Spec need to be toned down a bit now… a while back, a few people wanted it, but this is getting a bit excessive; If B-Spec is to be used in the Seasonals, there should be an A-Spec counter part or have about 2-3 times more A-Spec events than the B-Spec events in one Seasonal update. I’m getting tired of the B-Specs, and I can tell pretty much everyone else is too.

  17. BRP17

I don’t mind a challenging B-Spec race, but the last 3 are way too easy.
The 10 lap Sarthe race was fun.
I would prefer more challenging A-Spec races.
And as far a the lack of a new DLC, I really don’t care about cars, unless they are current LMP’s.
I would prefer more new tracks

    1. Quakebass

I agree – there should be an A-Spec counterpart for every B-Spec, and a B-Spec counterpart for every A-Spec race. much like the in-game races, only have equal laps; notice on the “Like the Wind” A-Spec race you’ve got only 5 laps, and the B-Spec counterpart has 18. this is true for nearly every race in-game… the only ones with equal laps (to my knowledge) are the Endurances, FGT Championship, NASCAR Championship, German Touring Car challenge, and Volkswagen Lupo Cup race. And if the races are equal, don’t make then the usual 5 laps, make them 10 – 15+.

  18. FishyJuice

Well… We can at least conclude that Fyshokid’s image is awesome. And yeah, just… I see why, but B-spec is just too boring. I like the idea of babysitting the drivers, but then why can’t they be like 1.25% of A-spec races in length rather than 10omgtehlongracez00% it feels like it is.

  19. craigc

B spec is awful, I hope to god the reason we have gotten no DLC in two going on three months is because they are now working in depth on GT6 for the new console… Jordan could you try and find out why we have had no DLC as I remember hearing here that we could expect one pack every month.

    1. No Sorrow 13

It was a new dlc release every two months if I’m not mistaken, but they’re late even for that.

    2. Quakebass

They actually aren’t late; the January pack was one month early, so if this pack is 1 month late, it will be net-on time. It just won’t be 2 months after the previous DLC.

  20. Caio

Come on, guys. Put your B spec driver to race and go to have dinner, or lunch, or take a shower. When you are back, you are going to be 1MM more reach. GT5 has been a online game for ages.

    1. SimonK

Yeah you know what, I bought this game to play it, not walk off and let it play itself. I can’t believe people still defend B Spec in this way.

    2. cbabb

@SimonK I completely agree with you “I bought this game to play it, not walk off and let it play itself.”

    3. Quakebass

One defense for B-Spec; if you go to school or work, you can have GT5 work for you while you can’t play. I really don’t see the use of B-Spec when you actually want to play the game. I completed B-Spec when I really had no time to play ANY game; and I ended up with several rare and expensive cars, and had enough cash to buy the other expensive cars that you can’t win from races or licenses. I just don’t really have time or patience when trying to use B-Spec in the time I actually want to play a game – mainly because all of my Bobs are all just James May on a track day not wanting to be there. (You won’t get that if you haven’t seen Top Gear).

    4. Quakebass

      @MyFavoriteGame:

He drove the Veyron SS, yes, but not at 270 MPH; he only reached around 258 MPH, and Bugatti’s test driver reached 268 directly afterwards. This was in a straight line; you won’t see my Bob’s or James May making mistakes there… (hopefully.) Theres just so many mistakes that my Bob’s make in the wrong places; they will fly off corners that they should be going half the speed the took them at, they’ll randomly mash the accelerator in the middle of a bend (occurs a lot in the middle of Grand Valley Speedway) with a low-grip car and spin, and when the Bob’s get in a wreck, they’ll wait in the off-track zones for the opposition to pass; usually 2-5 seconds before and AFTER the opponent vehicles actually get there. It’s like they don’t know ho to drive any car fast for a time period longer than a minute or two. The B-Spec AI (and AI in general) needs to be improved; there should be slightly varied skill in opponents so that you don’t always get that rabbit car at the front, and to expect an accident to occur in one car/driver than another. I’d like to see AI make mistakes, and attempt aggressive moves; I’ve never really seen a proper overtake except for when I’m in a car with a longer stopping distance than the opponent. The most aggressive AI I’ve seen is, surprisingly, on Route X. The AI will use slipstreams for overtaking, and is REALLY fun in a large group of equal cars; they always stay in a pack, and there isn’t really ever a rabbit car, in fact usually theres a tortoise car or two that has a bad transmission ratio. The AI don’t like going wide around cars, and they end up cutting you off sometimes, and causing some fishtails and even spinouts, you and the AI. It impressive and terrifying when your a little bit in the back of the pack and smoke blocks your vision. If every track had AI like that, I’d probably enjoy them a bit more; I usually make very difficult-to-drive circuits from the course editor, which has a few fishtails or spinouts every race. When the AI is improved, the game will be 110% more fun to play than it already is.

  21. HuskyGT

Just a friendly advice: If you all feel kind of bored of doing the same, try buying cars and leaving them almost stock, except for a few things like oil change, ECU, or something simple like that. Buy Sports Hards or Mediums, fave the car and go to Arcade.

Choose the hard difficulty and go to the Nurburgring 24 hours or a similar track, set the clock to 6:30pm and the time progression to 15. Choose 3 or 4 laps, weather to 50% (if you’re lucky it will rain) and tire/fuel consumption on.

Trust me, you’ll have a lot of fun. I spend most of my time doing that now. You can try other tracks too.

    1. researchALLwars

awesome advice. try matching your tires so it’s hard to keep with / battle the main pack of opponnents. Let that rabbit in 1st place run away and do a time trial by himself!

Fight with the pack! (my goodness why do we have to resort to such silly measures to extract some fun from this video game?)

    2. HuskyGT

I know. It’s strange because I havent had this feeling of not knowing what to do in previous GT titles except maybe after five years or so.

I fired up GT5 yesterday and found myself sitting at the garage thinking what I could do. I tested the Subaru that you gave me (Which was better than I ever thought. Thanks again.) but then I was like what next? Even my method above is starting to loose it’s appeal.

    3. advent

Haha… and I thought i was alone in doing this… This is pretty much all I do unless I come across an interesting car to mes around with.

My personal favourite is Nurburgring 24hr. Time set to 6pm. Time progression setting set to 15 for slow cars of about 400pp and 20 for faster cars. I always turn the weather off totally and run with comfort soft tyres. Some times I stop on the start line and wait until the other cars are around the first few bends before I head off, or start 30 seconds to a minute later, so there’s the extra challenge of catching them up. I always turn off the map so I don’t know where the other cars are until I see them…

The best bit is crossiing the finishing line just before its dark with the lights on, sometimes in first place, sometimes a bit further down the pack. Great for replays too.

    4. MyFavoriteGame

Yes I do that too….I do it mostly for the replay. I try really hard not too make any contact with the AI and race as fairly ad possible while keeping a good line. Nurb and Sarthe and my favorites . It’s fun but I really crave a more aggressive AI sometimes . Like how race driver GRID was.

    5. researchALLwars

oh, the A.I. in GRID. What an absolute blast. Those guys know how to drive a racecar. Compared to our Time Trial Simulator they just feel….. alive. I still play GRID and dirt2, and will probably pick up F1 2013 in the fall. Rumors are flying that CM is working on GRID2.

…I wish rumors would fly that Polyphony has begun doing actual reconnaissance on other racing games and sims. : /

//HuskyGT, you’re welcome. I’ve reached the 20mil limit and just buy rare cars and give them away.. Good vibes mon.

  22. Flagmo-T

Ohhhhhh B-Spec :o) What a Fun Gameplay it is, and How I’m not!! loving it – Look there is a bird, Nahhh it’s a spoon for your porridge Ohhh Doh!! thanks Gheee :o)

  23. apexpredator100

Quit whining like little babies everyone. You are not required to play the B Spec, why would anyone want GT6 on the PS4?

    1. BIOHAZARD9519

Because the PS4 is rumored to be able to play in 4k resolution and in order to support that resolution, the processor and GPU have to be really powerful. This means a better looking GT6, even on 1080p instead of 4k. Now the 4k resolution is a rumor from ign’s “reliable source”, I don’t know if true or not. Remember that GT5 is made using nearly all of the PS3’s potential, now just imagine how GT6 would look on a more powerful PS4.

    2. HarVee

Personally, I’m tired of the whole GT6 PS4 thing. Like you, I just don’t understand it. I’d rather have GT6 on PS3.

If GT6 were to be developed for the PS3, not only would you not have to pay for a newer console just to play the game, but the release date could be cut by a year or two because PD doesn’t have to figure out how to optimize the game for the newer hardware that this PS4 would be using.

    3. TokoTurismo

That’s why I want GT6 on PS3 instead. If it was on the PS4. Kaz and PD will attempt to “make a new engine” to go with it…

    4. Quakebass

GT5 is already pushing the PS3’s limits, along with a few other games (like Uncharted), and having a new, MUCH more powerful system will allow GT6 to do SO much more than what it could do on the current PS3. GT5 wouldn’t have been possible on PS2, and GT3 and 4 wouldn’t have been possible on PS1. Yes, you would have to spend a large sum of money for a new console. If GT5 came out near the PS3’s initial release, there’d be people whining because they couldn’t get the console for the game… which was so much more powerful than their PS2’s. I’d like to see GT6 on PS4, even if I can’t afford the system. It will just have so much more capabilities. NO ONE should be whining about having to purchase a new system.

And Toko, I don’t think a new engine is necessary; they just started with this new engine for GT5, which allowed for roll-overs and other features that wouldn’t be possible in the old engine. PD wouldn’t want or NEED to use a new engine for GT6 because they’ll be using the one they’re currently using in GT5.

      Finally @apepredator:

B-Spec is becoming tiring. Yes, we don’t have to play it. But what do we do when we’ve beaten everything else we LIKE to do? I my opinion, there should be a B AND A-Spec counterpart for every seasonal with EXACTLY the same requirements and restrictions, and most importantly, LAP COUNT. Have you noticed how we’re always getting A-Spec races that are shorter than the B-Spec counterparts? I want some A-Spec races that have a length between endurance and the short races we get; somewhere around 20 laps on 1-2 mile courses, 10 -15 laps on 3-4 mile courses, and then 5-8 lap races on Sarthe, Route X, Special Stage Route 7, Nordschleife, and Spa. Route X is surprisingly fun with very equally powered cars; it turns into a slip stream battle, and the AI can become a bit aggressive. I want to be able to play a game, not have a game play itself. I like B-Spec, but I only really use it at times when I can’t actually play; like during school, homework, or chores. If I want to play, I do A-Spec; B-Spec is just boring, and enraging at times.

  24. TokoTurismo

Oh btw. Awesome picture Fyshokid. :D Looks really artistic, like a painting you’ve painted based on your photo from the game. :)

  25. ElGreco

About the DLC I just saw a picture of a Toyota GT86 drift spec from HKS with “Gran Turismo” stickers ! Maybe it have something in common ???

    1. Amac500

Where did you see it? I hope to hell you actually say and aren’t one of those people that try to stir something up. Do share where it was cus’ I’m frickin’ itchy for some new content! Lol. And as long as it isn’t another GT-R I’ll take anything :)

    2. ElGreco

The name of the magazine I saw it is from Greece and it’s title is “power techniques” . I din’t know if it’s ok to scan the photo for you to see in public.

    3. Jordan

Many racing cars – including every car that competes in the Nurburgring 24h race – carry Gran Turismo sponsorship. That does nothing to suggest they’ll be part of the game in the future, unfortunately.

    4. ElGreco

Well its ok to hope for something like that ah ?? It would be great if we could have cars like this gt86 or the cars from 24 hours!! At least for me ;)

    5. Amac500

I deffinently hop for some 24 hour cars, both Le Mans and Nurburgring. those kind of real world race cars is what makes racing games fun an GT5 has a large lack of real world premium GT and prototype endurance cars :)

    1. Quakebass

Turn 10 has about 400 employees at the moment, and PD’s got around 140, and not all of them are working on GT5… You can do the math… theres just so much more workforce working on DLC, so it’s easy for Turn 10 to release DLC every month… its also why it’s only taking them 2-3 years to release a game.

  26. Turkey :D

It’s easy to mistake many of the comments as coming from whiners and complainers, but Polyphony Digital didn’t deliver a game worthy of the Gran Turismo name. It’s also painful that the only news I find out about the series is from GTPlanet.net. Polyphony Digital should get a site going to keep in touch with the online community, or at least join us on the forums.

    1. TokoTurismo

I hope one of them at PD at least joins the forums, it’ll make everyone and even me happy. :) You know. Making a thread about the bug fixes, updates, not sure about DLCs, and stuff like that. They should also make a thread called “The Ideas Thread”, sharing them our ideas with them straight away. ;)

    2. rjcraft16

that is the best idea ive heard so far on gtplanet +1. i would seriously love a classic rally car pack & a porsche 911 GT3 RS DLC but its only a thought

    3. lancashire lad

Agree, been a disappointment from release and they need to stop trying to please every car company and just make a good racing game with proper engine sounds that give you a smile when you race em.

    4. TokoTurismo

Hmm. I should write that down to get votes in order to get one of them to come here to GTP to do so.

    5. Quakebass

It seems PD’s been ignoring the complaints of too many B-Spec Seasonals… I’d like to know what they actually look at; just the feedback section, or are they reading the news section too? They could look here for other complaints that can help with deciding on Seasonals, and fixing bugs or adding/tweaking minor features.

    6. TomBrady

you’re out of your mind man
“didn’t deliver a game worthy of the gran turismo name”

Seriously, where do you get that from? Name one thing besides lack of events that they didn’t improve over all the previous GT’s?

You people are pathetic. The only things you have to back up your lame complaints like that are nit picky pathetic little things that you find wrong with the game. What about all the little things that went right with it? like custom soundtracks, adjusting cockpit view and hud, PSP importable garage, car/paint/parts/racing suit trading and gifts, racing suits, COURSE MAKER, better tracks and cars, BETTER PHYSICS AND GRAPHICS, license tests intact, special events/driving challenges even better than before, ONLINE!!!!! better AI, COURSE MAKER!!!! more real life circuits, EVENTS EVERY WEEK!!!!! (even if they’re B spec), friggin DLC.

It’s easy to forget all the brilliants things about this game once you have them and focus on the negatives, but all that says is that you’re about as disapointing of a person as you think this game is. Sit down fool

  27. aronh17

So… You don’t get everything you want in a game? Still… Could be worse. We all used to play GT4 without updates, DLC and customization. Now we all ask for so much because it’s possible now. We all played GT before for the essence of a driving simulator, we should do that again. Not to mention we never had multiplayer.

    1. HarVee

Yes, but GT4 had more content than GT5 does. There was more thing to do that will keep you entertained. The only main thing in GT5 that can keep you entertained is the online aspect, but that was proven to be awful since online is infested with those who just want to race dirty instead of clean.

    2. Maddens Raiders

Really? I played GT4 incessantly. What was so much mooooooore about it? Please explain. Boy, some people are just *never* satisfied w/ anything.

    3. TomBrady

GT4 did not have more content. It had more events that came with the game, but if you really thing GT5 hasn’t surpassed it with seasonals you’re out of your mind. Plus, I for one would rather have fresh events to do every week, then have just a bunch of events that came with the game.

And even if you don’t include the seasonals, do you seriously have to be told what to do? you can’t just pick a car and go to a track?

I mean seriously, GT5 has more content just based on the course maker alone. Not to mention all the new cars, DLC, and better tracks.

Online isn’t perfect but it’s no different from any simulator/game. Even iracing has lunatics that just crash you off the track.

You’re forgetting the most important part, physics. GT4 was an arcade sim game. GT5 is a simulation. you people need to wake up, and stop whining

    1. Maddens Raiders

…yes wtf is wrong with them because they are soooooo terrible for not offering you more dlc. ¬ ¬

    2. HKSBro92

@Madd?ens Oh please Mr. Sarcastic don’t act like youre actually happy with what PD is doing lately. Don’t tell your fans you’re gonna give them dlc every 2 months if you know you can’t do it. The only good dlc we got was spa and the aventador, no a-spec expansions, classic tracks…this game is dead.I hope gt6 doesn’t do the same.

    3. Maddens Raiders

Lately? I’m happy with PD period….been playing there games since PSOne (without a drop of DLC!) & now in 2012 I come in to read about B-Spec news only to see the usual group of whiners pining on about their horrible horrible problems with a….wait for it….video game.

You do realize that there are other consoles and simulators out there right? No one from Sony or PD is forcing you to play Gran Turismo so why do you feel as if they owe you anything? I’m only two trophies away from a Platinum & I highly enjoy racing online in both modes and I love to take photos. Perhaps you should try to get more from the game as well or just boycott GT.

    4. MuoNiuLa

@Madden: I have also been playing GT since the PS1 days. Doesn’t me I’m going to be happy with some of their decisions just because I’ve been playing their games for a while.

People complain because the game play structure and career has been much better than this in past games. Since PD is know to do better than this, of course they’re going to complain.

  28. Lambob

Anxiously awaits PS4 and GT6 as Premium Launch Title in late 2013.

Let PD work on that, I’m afraid GT5 is done, but it was the best driving game for me, and I will still be playing it online to the very day GT6 is installed at home.

Let bygones be folks, don’t let BSpec discourage you, just appreciate what we have in place.

Oh BTW, I spent time with the DLC Aston Vantage V12 yesterday on the Nur, and try it with longer gear ratios, meaning, set your top speed to 320/330, raise the FD to higher rev a bit, and enjoy gunning out of the apexes in extended Gear. Total new discovery for me. I’ve been driving with shorter gears for wayyy too long now.

  29. researchALLwars

    Event Creator Choices:

–Choose the Tracks for the series (including order.. duplicates should be allowed)

    for each track, choose:
-Time of day/Time Progression including Weather/Weather Changeability/Surface water
    -Laps
-Qualifying / Set Grid Manually / Random Grid
    -Standing / Rolling start
    -Penalty Level

    next screen, choose:
    –Your car

    –Field size (2-16 cars)

–A.I. cars (choose individually, by PP or HP or Weight high and low limits, by Drivetrain, or by ‘class’- Touring Cars, SuperGT, Kei Cars, Sports Cars, Wagons, Supercars, Classics, LMP, Multiclass, etc… It would be ten times cooler if we could *create and save a Class- for example being able to choose from our garage AND the entire car list of gt5 to create a grouping of what you, personally, would call “Classic Sports Cars”. Save this class and it will be in the list until you decide to modify/delete it.)

–A.I. group or individual Tires (sometimes you just don’t want that Ford GT to run away from the pack by 2 miles. Seriously. That ish is boring. I’d rather hang out and battle the pack than chase the rabbit.)

–A.I. group or individual Difficulty (1-10 like arcade mode)

–Tire wear, Fuel depletion, Grip on wet/off track, Slow Car Boost, Slipstream on/weak, Visible/Mechanical damage off/light/heavy..

–Finally, you decide points awarded for each finishing position/ or use the pre-programmed formula. Creating and saving different Points Systems would be nice.

–Prizes will be selected by a program that factors the total difficulty after all options are set- hopefully not by PP alone, as we’ve seen the crap results from that method (generated opponents in arcade, anyone?). Tire selection and # of races + race length should play big roles in deciding prizes. How about helmets, suits, car tuning parts, rare paint chips, and car tickets of all levels?

    –GO RACE!

    1. TokoTurismo

I want this to be in the game. This could make PD’s time a lot easier. :\ I want to drive ALL my cars.

  30. TurboProp

Oh look! Tsukuba! Again! Shocked! Very creative PD! I don’t mind B spec but they are just mailing it in now…

  31. scottypinthemix

    yawn…
what the heck is wrong with the folks at PD?
I figured they deleted all the seasonlas after the update in order to make room for new GOOD ones.
    WRONG!
B-spec. just get rid of it. It has never made any sense to me.

  32. deadcat777

Where the DLC?????? This game is getting boring.

And 10 lap of B-spec? What a freaking waste of my time.

  33. rallymorten

To be honest, I don’t like B-Spec events for 2 reasons:

1: The races are often much longer than they would be for A-Spec
2: It doesn’t pay off. Look at this: for this 650PP will be around 15-20 minutes and gives (with 200%) 831.200 cr. The last A-Spec 650PP takes me about 7 minutes and gives me a million! On the time one of these B-Spec races are finished, I can have made 2 possibly 3 million! See what I mean?

    1. BladeRunner4000

Maybe it doesn’t pay as much as A-spec because you don’t have to work as hard to win. Even though half of the B-races end up in frustration. It’s supposed to me the ‘passive’ mode.

  34. roamer2629

Im not a fan of B-spec and have only two Bobs at level 13, but ANY addition to the game is welcome as far as I’m concerned

  35. Kratos_Q8

they will keep bringing those stupid B-spec races its seems that some people are injoying it !! i realy dont know whats the fun in it sitting there and watching bob race for you seriously this B-spec crap need to be droped off the game

    1. HarVee

Id agree with you. This B-Spec mode was a horrible idea, and should just be cut from the game entirely. Hopefully, they’ll remove B-Spec for GT6 and focus on delivering us more A-Spec events.

  36. gpjeff

Two week’s and we get b spec races Really!!!!????!!!! No DLC forever it seems…. Truely disappointed !!!

  37. A_Higher_Place

    B-Spec sucks.

Put some further detail into the part of the game, or take it out. It’s useless and not fun.

    1. HeXoSKEL3t0n

You may be entitled to your opinion on which game is better, but if you’re are only capable of creating these shallow comments please leave.

Anyways if you really think forza is much better then why are you wasting time here, just go play your forza. Theres no need to go through all the trouble to make a GTplanet account just to make these type of comments…

    2. MyFavoriteGame

I never understood why people seem to think they have to choose….its like monogamy, can’t play both games, cuz its wrong. I only just got to 100% of Forza 3 and I’ll be picking up Forza 4 sometime in the future. I prefer GT5, but the game isn’t all that bad…I also play alot of F1 2011

  38. Phouchg

b-spec is good for bringing in the cash.. but who needs cash anymore? there’s nothing new to spend it on after getting all cars and even a couple of duplicates of the rare ones. I’d rather have some fun challenging races, i will grind no more.

  39. hairystig

meh, bring back the mega pay out expert b spec seasonal but of course everyone cried about it because they weren’t up to the challenge of working out how to win it so it was removed.
PD can’t win, its either to easy or too hard either way everyone still moans, I don’t blame them for not listening to us anymore.

    1. HarVee

PD could win if they were to find an intermediate level of difficulty. Not too hard, but not too easy.

    2. hairystig

      That suits everyone? Not likely.
I loved the old expert b spec, it was a bit tricky at first but once you figured out it was all about tyres and pit stops you could largely leave bob to do it by himself and collected a relatively easy 6 mil.
Its like the people who complain a spec seasonals are too easy when they’ll only do race in car with maximum pp, if you think its too easy try find out what’s the lowest pp car you can win it with

    3. hairystig

To that end perhaps we should get more money and or experience points for doing race when you use a car with less pp.

    4. HarVee

Or perhaps there could be a setting you can change before you enter a race. That way, the people who want it challenging can choose to do so, and those who just want to whiz right through it with ease can do so also.

    5. hairystig

But you can already set your own difficulty, by which car you pick to do the race in.
Lower the pp = higher difficulty

    6. HarVee

True, but having to choose a slower car to race with in order to make the race harder is a little pathetic. If that is what it takes to make the game more challenging, so bet it.

I just think it is a little wrong to have to do so just for the sake of making the game more interesting and giving the player more challenge.

  40. Foxiol

Wow wow wow yes yes yes!!! :D (hope someone gets the idea and smile…if not i´ll go to jail…lol) ((hope understand the “jail” thing)) (((if not i didn´t say anything))) ((((yeah i know that sounded crazy)))) (((((OMG)))))

  41. Kratos_Q8

im sick of fanboyz telling us we should be thankful for what PD / kaz is doing and supporting the game well loool , why would i be thankful for a ps3 game with 800 car of ps2 quality ? make us pay for a test course ? career mode that is shorter than gran turismo 1 career ? broken online mode ? this game still feels like a demo what they are supporting and updating and making us pay for should have been ingame from day 1 so dont tell me to be thankful i payed 600$ for ps3 just for MGS4 – GOW3 – GT5 both games were epic but GT5 failed big big time

  42. G35US

B-Spec is awesome. It allows you to multitask: make a sandwich, shower, brush your teeth, talk on the phone, read the news, while you earn some extra cash.

  43. shepzki

    yawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnn

I would rather pluck out my heart with a spoon than be forced to do more B-Spec, sadly i’m short on spoons. :-(

    1. HarVee

He’s talking about the silverware you eat of off, not the vehicles created by the manufacturer entitled Spoon…

    2. hairystig

Lol really??? Well I have even more of those and he/she can have one for free, if they use it to pluck out their own heart.

    3. MyFavoriteGame

I was eating ice-cream in my CIVIC once and dropped my spoon underneath the seat…..never found it…true story.

  44. SavageEvil

Like clockwork a B-Spec event and the usual complaints, PD releases races for both A Spec and B Spec. I don’t see the problem with that at all. I have a boatload of cars tuned specifically for 500PP and 400PP, some are better than others and to ensure that the car is very competitive I race that same car in Arcade on the hardest setting on the tires cars in that PP range use 400pp use comfort med and 500PP use sport hard, well anything up to 600PP uses sport hard for me anyway. If I can make it to first or second place by the end of a 4 or 5 lap race depending on course length then the car is good for the A Spec races as the AI there isn’t as tenacious as Arcade mode at all.

Now I am only waiting on the missing tracks from previous GT’s to make a return, not sure why I don’t really care for more cars, one day I might get around to getting those but I want courses and I hope that each on has at least day to night shift, I’m pretty sure that Daytona can be driven on at night, heck Sebring in it’s 12 hour layout would be sweet.

  45. Olegonic

    What is GOD (PD)?
If You wish something too much and ask for it,
the GOD (PD) is a one who ignores You……….

  46. TokoTurismo

Ugh… Sick of the PP. >_> I rather it get fix better and properly in GT6… Don’t want to use the same cars everytime… l:\

    1. MyFavoriteGame

Things are grim PD, you arguably biggest fan and apologetic is getting edgy…..Grimm….yes, very grim indeed.

but I digress, this proves you aren’t a “fanboy” Toko, just someone who loves and enjoys the game….your complaint is valid, unlike many other here.

    2. Kobooi

      Haters gotta hate, Tokoturismo.
If you hate the game so much, go play FM4 or NFS, Tokoturismo.
I’m so sick of people complaining about the PP. You should be thankful that Kaz gave you PP, he didn’t have to do that, EA never gave you PP, so stop complaining Tokoturismo.

    3. HarVee

There was really no need for the PP thing though. It should be measured by the Horsepower of the car, not by some fictional measurement PD created. Last time I checked, automotive races in the real world weren’t restricted to certain fictional elements that real cars can’t possibly acquire.

So if such fictional limitations such as that don’t exist like that in the real world, why would such a thing exist in a “Simulator”?

    4. Peasantslayer

@HarVee – Because it’s fairer, it ensures seasonals aren’t easier than they already are. PP is based on numerous car attributes (power, weight, downforce and handling I think which could be measured by a test driver if you want the race to be much more competitive) so there is nothing stopping it from being applied to the regulations of a real life racing event.

  47. HarVee

On the plus side , if you ever wanted a low-quality “pre-owned” BMW, the OCD is filled with them now.

PD is really slacking off with this game.

    1. TokoTurismo

I think they rather GT6 over GT5 now. Guess it’s not, “perfect”, for them anymore. *Growls at perfection*

    2. TomBrady

Slacking off with the choices they make yes, but seriously, what other simulation adds content like this every single week? We should appreciate that they didn’t abandon this game the way that 99.99999% of all games do after release and a couple of updates. We not only get updates, and content, but we even get major overhauls (spec 2). I think we got it better than we realize but it’s easy to complain, because really, I don’t know what goes through polyphony digitals heads when they make seasonals, and decide DLC. It’s like they want to give us what we want, but they don’t what to give us so they give us what they would want or someting. It’s like someone who’s really bad at getting people christmas gifts

  48. XianSpeed

Meh… I just use B Spec to test out other cars/setups/tunes. Yes, I agree that it is getting a bit boring though…

  49. Mac K

As much as I like free content ever week, B-Spec in my opinion isn’t something I usually look forward to. I wish PD wod use a little creativeity for the next batch, these set PP races are getting a bit stale in my opinion. But hey.

    1. sind3ntosca

I agree about the PP set… they always set 400/500/650PP …so we end up using the same car again and again hohoho… they should make it random PP. Maybe 380/520/680.. or whatever… so we could use much more cars in our garage :)

    2. SimonK

That’s the other thing I don’t get, it’s always the same three PP brackets/classes. I’ve no problem with brackets, in fact I think GT5 needs some overall but hey, how about creating more than three of them PD?

  50. TomBrady

Wait, why is SECA in Laguna Seca capitalized? is it supposed to be that way? I’ve never noticed before if so, that’s odd

  51. Adamater210

XJR9 finished my lvl 29 bob 20 seconds behind the Zonda race car :( what cars are you guys using for laguna seca?

  52. SimonK

“In what will surely be much to the chagrin of increasingly restless Gran Turismo 5 fans”

    You don’t say.

    1. TomBrady

My thoughts exactly. Don’t know why they give us even helpings of A spec, b spec, and time/drift trials. I can’t be alone in this but I do at least 50 a spec races, and 40 time trials for every b spec race I do, so why do we need more? I don’t know but hey, at least this sim adds content every week unlike most. Still the best game around IMO but I definitely don’t like some of the decisions PD makes.

  53. sind3ntosca

YEEEESSSSS!!!! NEW B-SPEC!!! …I’m grinding for the money in B-Spec Seasonal, as i ‘speak’. Now i have to switch to these new seasonal events… Yaaa yaay… thx for the update ^_^
