2TB Xbox One S Nearly Sold Out; Microsoft Won’t Replenish Stock

Xbox One S 2TB Launch Edition 05

The Xbox One S seems to have had a great launch: the redesigned console has caught the attention of fans thanks to it’s sleek looks, faster operating system and slightly increased performance. One such version of the One S that has flown off shelves is the meaty 2TB model which is nearing the end of it’s first batch of stock. However, if you’re hoping to land the white 2TB console in the future, prepare for disappointment — Microsoft will not be restocking this particular model of the console.

Speaking to Eurogamer, a Microsoft representative clarified:

“We’re excited by the reaction from fans for the Xbox One S. While stock of the 2TB has sold out, gamers can pre-order the Xbox One S 2TB Gears of War Limited Edition console.”

The Microsoft representative clearly states that the white version of the 2TB model has sold out its allocated stock, but assures players that there will be an opportunity to purchase the larger memory variant in the special red Gears of War edition console. Although it should be noted that this will be sold in a limited quantity and price more expensively than the original white model.

For those not inclined to purchase the unique GoW variant, the Microsoft rep gives some hope that the 2TB will arrive in other forms in the future:

“We will be sharing further details on other Xbox One S bundles and variations in the coming weeks.”

Microsoft are no strangers to limited availability consoles with each iteration of the Xbox bringing many different colours and variants to the consumer throughout each respective console’s lifespan. So, if you’re one of the lucky consumers who managed to pick up the white 2TB model of the Xbox One S, it seems like it will be rarer than initially anticipated, so be sure to keep it in good condition!

I was lucky to get hold of one of these. Its nice having 1.6TB of disk space left. They integrated the psu, took out the Kinect port. But it now leaves me with more shelf space, a lower power bill, 4k blue ray playback. And better performance in games which have unlocked fps at least i think so. Other than no Kinect port whats not to like. Now all i need is a 4k tv to watch 4k amazon netflix and 4k bluerays. The controller now has bluetooth so you can pair it easily to a gaming pc. Sweet. It comes with a vertical stand too and a hdmi lead. But no headset. All in all im well chuffed with this.

is it so hard to just buy a beast of a 2.5inch hdd and lob it at the xbox one. it should save you a nice wad of cash. at most you would have to format it.
