Assetto Corsa’s Pre-Order Prestige Car Pack Will Be Made Available For Purchase

Assetto Corsa Bonus Pack 2 Muscle Cars

Assetto Corsa recently completed its roll-out on consoles, arriving in North America yesterday. Gamers looking to maximize the available cars could seek out pre-order exclusives from various retailers, in the form of the Performance and Prestige packs. For those unable to do so — or for the significant portion of players that pre-order digitally — Kunos Simulazioni have now announced the latter pack will be available for purchase at a later date.

The news comes straight from the official Assetto Corsa forums. The smaller Performance Pack included the Audi R8 V10 Plus (first-gen), 2014 Corvette Stingray, and Ferrari 488 GTB. The Prestige pack triples the car count to nine, including the following machines:

  • Audi A1 S1
  • BMW M4 Coupe
  • Ford Mustang 2015
  • Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
  • Nissan GT-R Nismo 2015
  • Toyota GT86

As the Prestige Pack represents a 10% increase in the car count, it should prove a highly-desirable addition to the base game.

Kunos has confirmed the pack will not be included in the available Season Pass. An availability date and price for the Prestige pack has yet to be revealed, though it can already be viewed on the respective digital marketplaces of both consoles.

As is, the only way of driving any of those nine cars is via pre-order incentives. We’ll have more news on the availability of the Prestige Pack, as well as any other news on DLC for Assetto Corsa, as it develops.

Late September on pc and two weeks later on console because QA takes 0 minutes on pc and 2 weeks on console.

Everybody knows that when any given industry becomes a multi million dollar one, things change quite a bit and the first thing people start noticing is how much fans or general people’s opinions about it starts losing weight or importance.
Sports fans over 35 years old know exactly what I’m talking about.

This game is pretty coool. I think it’s much a friendlier with the DS4 then Project Cars which is a huge plus. Is anyone else here like me? Being that you bought a PS4 for GT and ended up buying Project Cars and Assetto Corsa to hold GTs place. Only games I bought for PS3 are GT5, GT6 and Driver San Fran.

I’m exactly like you – PS3, PS4 just for GT for the most part. Except I’ve used a wheel since GT5P. I think it’s time for you to take a leap and get one as well ;-)

Yeah me too. GT5P, full game and GT6 on PS3 and yep I was holding out for GT Sport before I scooped a PS4.
However, I’m going to take a leap once Neo comes out and buy an ‘old’ PS4 which’ll hopefully be cheaper. Then I’ll get a chance to have a look at AC and possibly Driveclub to keep me busy throughout the winter.

Who knows when GT Sport will finally be released? It’s daft but I’ll probably have to run GT6 alongside my new setup to keep my hand in.

Haha I know the feeling. And I wouldn’t be surprised if in a couple of years from now you look back on your PS4 and you realise that you actually liked Project CARS and Assetto Corsa more than GT:S (whenever it may come out).

I had the exact same thing happening to me, I had a PS3 and played GT5 & GT6 mainly. I waited and waited for GT7 news but nothing was released. At the same time there was this fancy Ford GT presentation in january 2015 to announce Forza 6. So expecially for Forza 6 I bought a XBox One (instead of PS4 and just waiting longer for GT7), this was around summer time 2015. While waiting for FM6 to be released I bought FH2. And looking back to today, I must say I liked FH2 a lot more than FM6. I love sims don’t get me wrong (I have Project CARS and Assetto Corsa for XBox One as well now) but the FH series is so fun to play when you are in a chillout mood. FM6 IMO is a weird game, it’s not even close to a sim since the handling is so incredably poor and just outright weird in corners. Is it more an arcade then? I think so, I now see the FM series as a difficult arcade game that is camouflaged to look like a sim. It has it’s fun moments though with that superb car roster, but for actual immersion / handling / FFB / driving experience give me PC, AC or Dirt:Rally any day.

I’m really not happy how they’ve handled DLC so far. At least the preorder cars will be available at some point, but not part of the season pass? Seriously? Cars that should be apart of the base game (well actually, THEY ARE APART OF THE BASE GAME),and some people got totally for free, yet even the season pass isn’t enough? Ridiculous.

Not to mention the idiotic fact that the original trailer for the console version showed the Ferrari F1 cars and they’re not even in the sim yet.

This is literally the only time I know for a fact that DLC content was literally content from the game. People love to throw around accusations at other games but this is the only time it’s clearly true. Other than the porsche DLC, it was all literally held back to be sold as DLC. You could say that the red pack wasn’t held back since it released on PC after the console version went gold, but the fact that the F1 is in the original trailer of the console version kind of negates that in my opinion. Not to mention that the 488 GTB and Fxx K was released weeks after the red pack, yet that made it into the console version.

Add this to all the disappointed console noobs, things aren’t looking good for Assetto corsa on consoles. I’ll still support it because it’s the best sim on consoles by a mile and PS4’s my preferred platform, but this was handled poorly.

I haven’t paid much attention to this but it seems to me they are simply backdating the DLC to when the game was supposed to be released last year. Since then pc players have paid for DLC packs and perhaps they felt it wasn’t right to give the DLC packs away for free when the game isn’t quite full price to begin with and it might have an adverse effect on the pc community that has supported them so strongly from day 1. It might also have something to do with 505. Pure speculation though. If the game was released on time, players would have had to pay for the DLC anyway.

Same, While i’m dying to drive the P1 and FXXK I’ll also wait till they fix all the current problems i keep hearing about before i buy it.
