Final Three Cars for Assetto Corsa’s Red Pack Revealed Early?

Assetto-Corsa-LWTCHI-Red-Pack

It looks like the cat is out of the bag in relation to the final three cars that will be included in the Red Pack for Assetto Corsa releasing later this week. Eagle-eyed viewers were able to spot the final three cars in the latest Kunos developer stream, Look What the Cat Hacked In at a little over 24 minutes in.

The three potential remaining cars left to be revealed are as follows:

  • Ferrari 488 GT3
  • Maserati Gran Turismo MC GT4
  • Maserati Levante

Interestingly enough, of the three the oddball is no doubt the Maserati Levante, marking the first time an SUV has made its way into the game. With the recent announcement that Porsche is on its way later this fall, are Kunos setting things up for a virtual showdown with the Macan and/or Cayenne?

While an oddity, it will no doubt be fun to take this around the track. Image courtesy of Autocar.

The Red Pack is heavily biased towards Italy’s motorsport culture as evidenced by the 488 GT3 and MC GT4. The former, the successor to the 458 Italia GT3 was first revealed at the Finali Mondiali Ferrari in Mugello and is powered by the same 3.9L V8 engine found in the production 488 GTB.

The MC GT4 is a return to the GT4 championship for the company after a six-year absence. Heavily based on Maserati’s own MC that was developed for the Trofeo Maserati series, one would be hard pressed to differentiate between the two. Powered by the same naturally-aspirated 4.7L V8 engine, the GT4 car makes 58 less horsepower than its brethren, standing at a still brutal 430 ponies.

The Red Pack launches this Thursday, July 14. The pack will pay tribute to Italy’s national racing color, bringing the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV, Ferrari SF15-T, Ferrari F138, and others together. The pack will also include the Red Bull Ring, home of the Austrian Grand Prix.

Head on over to our Assetto Corsa forum to discuss this and more about the game. Kudos to DatNoiseV12 for the original tip which you can find here. If you’d like to view the developer stream in its entirety, and it’s worth the watch just for sheer amount of attention paid to the SF15-T alone, you can do so here.

Damn… stop releasing GT3 cars. Bloody boring and already enough there. All the same with different chassis!
Give me the 488 GTB street car, NOT the GT3 version!!! Aaaaahhh!

    Or other smaller streetcars like:
    – Caterham Super Seven
    – BMW M235 or M135i / M2
    – Ferrari 458 speziale
    – Audi RS3 (just to know how ****** it drives on a racetrack *gg*
    – BMW M4 GTS
    – Focus RS
    – Porsche Cayman GT4, 911 GT3 RS (hopefully comes with the Porsche Pack!)
    – Renault RS Trophy (one of the few FWD I can accept)

    I would rather have

    – 458 speciale
    – Ferrari F12
    – Zonda 760 RS
    – Alfa Giulia Quaddrofoglio

but however, it’s still a nice DLC.

Damn, I hope not. Why can’t it be the Ferrari 488 GTB? Not some boring GT3 version. We already have 80 other boring GT cars in AC. Give us something interesting if anything.

Personally though i was happy with the cars announced thus far. The Ferrari F1’s alone have me excited, plus the Maserati F1 should be awesome

who do you need to follow to see the dev streams?> pretty certain i saw nothing on the official ac twitter.

SUV in AC? That’ll be fun. I’d quite like to see more types of vehicles once their planned roster is filled.

Variety is always good. I think not having variety is always the biggest mistake racing games make with their car lists. It’s the one thing I’m really disappointed about GT Sport.

If I get to finally drive a GT3 Ferrari, I’ll be a very happy camper. Life is good.
    Thank you KUNOS!
