FM6 eBay Motors Car Pack Showcases Senna’s MP4/4

Forza Motorsport 6 continues its monthly DLC schedule this week with the second pack since release, scheduled for release tomorrow, November 3. A predominantly racer-oriented pack, the ride taking centre stage is one of the winningest cars in F1 history: the McLaren MP4/4. Winning all but 1 race in the 1988 season – with 10 1-2 finishes no less – it has a lasting legacy on the sport, introducing the reclined seating position that is still used today. With the legendary teammates (and rivals) of Senna and Prost, it truly is a car for the history books. It’s probably not a stretch to say it should prove a popular choice for players.

That’s not the only track-based addition this week though. Joining the McLaren are three pure track racers, from a variety of disciplines. The 1980 Lancia Montecarlo Turbo joins the existing Group 5 racers in the game; the 2014 Mazda Lola B12/80 brings the championship-winning SkyActiv D engine into the prototype division of the United SportsCar Championship; while the 2014 Maserati MC Trofeo is the championship-winning vehicle for the gentlemen racer series.

1977-Holden-Torana-A9X

Road vehicles enjoy a similar level of variety. This month, we get the first of Nissan’s Fairlady line in the form of the US-Market Datsun 2000 Roadster. Australia enjoys increased representation with the Torana A9X, the homologation special that not only won its debut race in 1977, but also won the championship in ’78 and ’79, setting a lap record during the latter. Finally, we get the 2000 Plymouth Prowler, Chrysler’s modern take on hot rod culture. It was roundly criticized when released, mostly for the disappointing V6/4-speed automatic combination, but that should be easily remedied with FM6’s engine swaps…

This apparently isn’t all that’s planned for November from Turn 10, either. Posting in the Week In Review article, community manager Brian Ekberg mentioned another Content Update will be arriving tomorrow, while teasing “something special coming”. Last month brought a free Infiniti concept car, so we’ll have to sit tight to find out what this update holds.

Pack looks great cant wait to try it out. I have played every GT since the first one but just bought a Xbox One for Forza 6 and am loving it. It is simply more fun than the last couple of GTs which have been grueling at times. A game is supposed to be fun and Forza 6 is imo. I will still likely get GT7 if and when it ever comes out but I am really enjoying FM6 in the meantime.

  2. Matvex

    Sold!

A9X Torana is enough for me to end 16 years of playing the same racing game.

For sale 1 old PlayStation 3 and a old video game that has officially been past by its competitors in my opinion.

It’s a great time to switch as most of us are not allowed to bring our wheels across to ps4 anyway. Fresh start for me.

  3. BrunetPaquet

A Legendary racer’s car which is gonna have a Legendary (Story based in my game) character’s design… could it be any Leg… wait for it… andary?

  4. Lapse

An applause for Kazunori Yamauchi and his exclusive parnership with Senna Institute… A Tribute to Senna without this…

    1. Oyashiro-sama

Indeed, my friend, indeed. Such a shame, because when someone says Senna, that McLaren F1 is the car I see in my mind.

    1. Master Weasel

So couple of questions for the people who are saying Forza’s physics are bad. What are you comparing the game’s physics to? Another game like GT or real life? Furthermore, have actually PLAYED FM6 to come to such a conclusion?

    2. BrunetPaquet

Set the driving physics to simulation. Try to keep the car from swaying too hard. Anyways… to each their own.

Anyways, not gonna hop in this dispute.

For example, I don’t like #DriveClub’s physics but other people might like it.

    3. another_jakhole

I only think Forza Horizon’s physics are bad for a simcade. I’m comparing that to Driveclub. FM’s physics are really good

    4. BrunetPaquet

@ImaRobot I’ve played these games, thank you.

#DriveClub’s controls really depended on the car you selected. Some of my favorites were good at nothing but drifting while some were too grippy. Some were just in-between and these were my choice cars.

Forza Motorsport 6’s controls are… whatever I say I’ll get flakked but I like ’em.

Gran Turismo 6’s physics are decent, but me not being good at tuning car settings in GT6 I’m absolutely not someone to rely on for accurate descriptions.

      P.S. I’m just stating my opinions… I’m not up for a debate.

    5. ImaRobot

I was not talking to you, although me posting right after you might have given you that impression.

Still, if you are going to go around posting opinions, you your self are introducing yourself into the debate. That’s how it works.

    6. another_jakhole

If you’re talking to me, my opinions are based on my experience with these games. Why are you effing with me?

    7. infamousphil

      Reasons i don’t dig Forza…
      offset buttons on the controller,
      limited and/or non-programmable controller buttons,
(I have a 360 wheel and faster with controller… go figure)
      not enough cars,
(horrid car selection imho, and it’s american… where’s my ’62 Fleetwood Eldorado Brougham Convertable, ’62 Thunderbird Roadster, ’69 Eldorado Brougham, ’75 Grand Prix LJ and ’76 Cutlass Salon… if they’re gonna cha-ching the dlc, a much greater selection is justafiable)
      micro transactions (dlc)
stupid silly gamers (waaay too much adolescents online… d..ned spoiled american children ;(

  5. TeamCZRRacing

I have to say, FM6 is looking better and better! Can’t wait to jump in as soon as I get a CronusMAX and a new wheel.

    1. another_jakhole

I’m waiting for a smaller Xbox and when I’m able to afford money for a stand and two wheels. I wonder if an X1 slim will come next year. If they don’t announce it at 2016’s E3, then I don’t think I’ll wait any longer.

    2. Johnnypenso

I thought that the Cronus Max had a ton of input lag and no real FFB. At least that’s how it looks in the videos that I have seen.

    1. another_jakhole

Heh heh hehhhh lol that’s hilarious.

Anyway, this a good pick of cars and it’s not the full package? The Prowler is a fun car to drive. Really stable

    2. another_jakhole

Whoops. My comment was in response to ImaRobot’s comment.

For sure though, T10 normally knows how to pick them. I hope I can get a setup for FM6 in the near future.

  6. Scuderia Paul

I am not an XboxOne owner but that is a pretty nice pack. The Mazda LMP, Lancia MonteCarlo, Maserati Trofeo and McLaren MP4/4 being the highlights for me.

Are all Forza DLC packs now shamefully featuring sponsorship for the name now? Dear oh dear.

  7. jimipitbull

Dan, whilst I would certainly bang your A9X, it’s more bogan than long drives to the shop when you want a sausage roll. GTR-XU1 is the real people’s champion.

Never owned a MS console, don’t have a PS4…GT Sport doesn’t appeal to me and i am assuming that GT7 is a LONG way off yet, so not sure what to do here. MS exclusives never have appealed to me before and i can’t afford both consoles, but Forza 6 just keeps on drawing me in to get an XB1 over a PS4. Every bit of news i read about FM6 just seems to look better and better…hmm, what to do…

    1. cfc

Thats what i did (was racing GT’s since very first one) – i got ps3 for GT5 – was MAJOR disaster, sold ps3,didnt bought ps4 since there was no GT7 in sight (still isnt and probably more than few years away),saved money, got XB1,got FM5,got FH2,got FM6 (and during this time there is still no sight of GT7) and simply enjoying racing ;)
Aaaaand Porche DLC coming soon ;) Happy times

    2. JoeH187

I bought fm6 xbox and a wheel, returned all but the xbox, car details are poor and innaccurate in forza, physics poor.

Play it somewhere, somehow, before you buy.

    3. ImaRobot

Lol Joe, you’re still going on about that even after you ignored my post about the comlete lack of detail in more then 50% of the actual car list? Ridiculous.

    4. cfc

JoeH187 – oh dear, when i think ps/gt fanbase grow from such delusionism, here another strikes ROFL – i can bet on my house, car and dog that you where never bought those you mentioned,im actually think you dont even have ps4 (not that it matters anyways, there is no GT on ps4 and wont be for few more years at best) – been racing since 1984 and very first GT’s,but Forza is so far ahead of GT now, only deluded and shortsighted fanboy like you can say such BS,which knowing your love of talking BS is no surprise.Any unbiased driver will say the same (taste preferencies aside) – car details is best ive seen so far (all Premium models as well cough cough),physics way ahead of GT,tracks dont feel sterile and dead like in GT,and the last and most important – its FUN.
Splosh – get XB1,get Horizon 2 for free roam and arcade fun and get FM6 – it will keep you accupied for long, and probably well see FM7 sa well long before GT7 comes to remasterstation 4 ;)

    1. Thomas2012

cfc, GTPlanet still covers sims and if he is referring to GT my guess would be at least it’s somewhat more sim than Forza which is closer to Arcade.

    2. Fat Tyre

Thomas now you are trolling. If you would have played Forza Motorsports you would have never said that, I switched from GT and it was hurtful to accept it at first but Forza is way ahead of GT in terms of simulation.

    3. another_jakhole

Jesus. Hurtful to accept, Fat Tyre? What’s up with some of you people. Quality is quality. There are should be no picking sides with video games unless it is an issue of morality. For me, it’s fort to be “hurtful” to support T10. I’m buying the game used, for sure, when the time comes for me to get an x1.

    4. ImaRobot

The problem here is people coming in and spouting these things as if there is any sort of truth to them, and then comparing it to GT as if GT is superior in some way. They are both the same type of game, which is the funny part.

    5. another_jakhole

For me, it will be “hurtful” to support T10 in any way. I won’t be buying any DLC packs either. Forget that. I won’t even contemplate buying one. Do they even have track packs? I think I remember one pack which included a track from a previous FM. Ah well, GT5 finally got the course maker feature back after a 21 month wait lol. I just don’t know how much more freedom we’ll get with the PS4. I mean, holy crap. Technically 16 times the power of the PS3 even though PD have been able to take advantage of its tech. They named to apply adaptive tessellation on the PS3 after at least 8 long years of dedicating their lives to make GT as amazing as it is. Whether it’s tangible or something that gets overlooked, GT6 is a technical marvel in its field whilst being constrained to the technologies the PS3 offers.

    6. ImaRobot

I have no idea what your going on about being hurtful. It’s not anymore hurtful then you continuing to go after anyone that supports the game. You are essentially doing the exact same thing, literally.

FM5 had 3 tracks set out for free as well as about 20 DLC cars for free, but because the track roster is pretty much doubled, I’m not sure if they’ll continue that path.

    7. another_jakhole

Oh, and I am completely content about playing GT6 for another full year, as well as pCARS on the PC from time to time.

    8. another_jakhole

I have nothing against people who like FM while thinking T10 are doing a great job. Personally, I just can’t stand T10. I think they’re doing a great job, aside from whay came out of FM5. I’m defending the shortcomings of PD’s recent games, but it doesn’t have me disliking them in the way I dislike T10.

    9. ImaRobot

I’m still a little lost. What you are doing is different from what the people defending T10 are doing, how?

They’ve done more then rectified the problem that plagued FM5 with loads of free content with that game. They’ve done it even more so now by almost doubling the car list from the last, as well as introducing features while still staying true to their 60fps claims. I’m not exactly sure you can hold such a grudge with them, considering the main problem from it was lack of content, while giving PD a pass. It’s just odd.

    10. another_jakhole

I only used “hurtful” because Fat Tyre used it Hyatt because for some reason they had to admit to themselves FM’s physics are great. I agree that they are, but the only thing I find hurtful is that in some ways I’m supporting T10 when in the past, their practices have left me bitter.

Much like how, personally, I don’t like MS even though from ’08 to’10, my main console of choice wss the 360 and the original Xbox. Halo helped a lot with that, but I won’t be able to play that since my brother’s a general in that game and only cares for Halo. It would take him a few days too get to level 50 general on pay Halo games whereas I could only get up to 44 or so from what I remember.

    11. another_jakhole

I get what you mean. But I said T10 are great at whay they do but they had people paying for content that was in previous games. They were taking advantage of their consumers and fans. They certainly have turned a corner. I’m still trying but to support them with money. I’m depriving myself of content sure, but I’ll still get the free stuff. I’ll pay nothing for any other content in the Forza series unless it’s a huge game-changer like a track creator.

    12. ImaRobot

So what exactly was your problem with the game then? If it was the lack of content, then why are you still holding onto that grudge if that has obviously been changed? It was changed within that very same game, and then changed even more when FM6 came out, yet your still going to hold on to something that is irrelevant now, as it’s not a problem anymore?

You’re holding onto something that doesn’t matter anymore, while giving PD a pass and pretty much turning a blind eye. I don’t understand your views, and it comes off extremely odd that you don’t hold both games in the same regard since they’ve both have had bad their problems.

    13. another_jakhole

*I’m still trying NOT to support them with my money, unless they come out with a game-changing feature as DLC. But even then, PD releases the course maker for free and are allowing it’s to share them easily enough, especially with GTPlanet being the middle man in helping people find the tracks they’re most interested in. It’s for the fans and it’s free. Doesn’t matter how long it took. I was even beginning to have doubts they’d release it for GT6 after waiting 21 months. Eek!

    14. ImaRobot

No, it matters alot how long it took. It’s false advertising, and was supposed to come with the game. That is a major problem, and one that plagues them with almost everything. Look at the horrible time scale of the VGT’s, its the exact same problem. It SHOULD be free, because it’s advertised as part of the base game. That’s what I’m talking about, you are blindly giving them a pass for things they are STILL doing, yet holding a grudge against T10 for a game they released with a small amount of content, that they’ve done more then fixed.

You don’t have to support them with you’re money, but they’ll still support you, the playerbase, with loads of free content anyways. You get the benefits while not having to spend a dime.

    15. ImaRobot

I don’t have a problem of the way you think of T10, it’s the way you let the other company slide because you’ve grown accustomed to it.

    16. another_jakhole

Last time I will talk about this, nothing against you, I appreciate that your not forcing this on me.

My feelings and grudge I hold over T10 are mine to deal with. For better or worse, I won’t change how I feel how T10 FM3-FM5. Again, for neuter or worse, as irrational as likely it’s, I choose PD over T10. I don’t pick sides when it comes top the games though. Not everybody chooses what happens after the employees’ work and end product turn out too be as special as they turn out. The sounds have become less over-the-topwhich is great. For the most part I favor GT’s sounds, but the tire squeal in GT games is soooo annoying. And I hate that the C8 doesn’t have an interior (such nasty on those cars’ interiors.

    17. ImaRobot

No problem. You at least approached it levelhead, so even if I don’t agree with you I’d figure I’d do the same.

As vocal as I can be about the subject, I’m still looking forward to GTS. I’m hoping it’ll rectify the problems I have, and if so it’ll likely be the reason I’d finally pick up a PS4.

    18. another_jakhole

Damn it. My comment got erased. Frckin phone. Bottom line, I don’t back PD 100% mindlessly. They could have let us user the first course maker while we waited for the GT6 version. There are more things that I don’t back PD in the decisions and I’ve started them multiple times on various occasions. Yet, they haven’t charged us for tracks, cars, and crazily enough the course makers since they’re Major frickin features.

    19. another_jakhole

GT Sport will mosey likely be an advanced version of the prologue testers but with final product elements to it, if that makes any sense. I think Jim Ryan said it was more than just a prologue. But I think it’ll even surprise me though anything can happen l. It’s seems like the FIA sanctioned events will actually feature the VGT cars too.

Btw, if I could have, I would own FM6, a stand and a steering wheel by now. I’ve said it before, the physics are great and the car list is damn good and the sounds for weaker cars have become less exaggerated from whay I can tell. I did say T10 are turning a corner and also, I’m not mindlessly backing PD 100% in their decisions. I still prefer PD’s ways and products more than T10. My feelings toward that dev team won’t change, but my feelings about their games can and have changed.

    20. ImaRobot

While I would prefer free DLC as well, I don’t mind it at a price, either. PD’s model is good in theory, its just the time they seem to take is a bit out there. You’d be correct to say that T10 has alot of DLC that costs money, they do also release tracks and cars for free. I believe the free content they released has been as much, or has passed, PD’s. They just offer paid packs as well.

If FM6 will follow FM5’s method, then we /could/ be in for a treat, but that’s yet to be seen.
