There was almost no content, just the VGT, a bug fix and a menu link. GT Academy did not go live so I don't even count that and really all it is for most of us is another TT. So very little in the way of content and still no course maker nor even any word on when we may eventually get it. How can anyone be happy with that?

Is it somehow wrong to not be as unhappy as others are? I get that this game has issues and features that still haven't been brought, but I don't understand why its somehow frowned upon if someone is happy with what they got.

Ugh, why must GT Academy start in the middle of Finals week!?

Not like I have a chance anyway, but still... :P

I said yes because I'm judging it based on the actual content of the update; I like the VGT, I look forward to GTA, and I'm pleased for bug fixes, even if the bug didn't really affect me.

The people that vote no are possibly doing so in protest of the yet to be released features... which is fine, but doesn't actually relate directly to the content of 1.18.
Or they are possibly voting no because the only actual new content is a VGT and nothing else and obviously not everyone cares or even wants another VGT.

I would have been thrilled with the 1.18 update even if the only thing changed was the Transmission Bug was abolished and we could go back to tuning transmissions the way we did before 1.17... But that's just me.

Learning of the cars used in GT Academy 2015, I feel a bit happier about the update. I just hope I can keep the GT Academy Cars this time round like I could in GT5.

Not every 'update' needs specific content. Theres features like course maker still not in the game, but we have received a lot of cars (real or fantasy), updated tracks, new customizations, fixes etc. I can forgive Kaz for not having something major for every time the game has an update.

Well if you are "not as unhappy as others are" that indicates that you are at least somewhat unhappy. The poll only asks if we were happy with it so that sounds like a no to me ;)

You ask " How can anyone be happy with that?", almost suggesting that nobody should be happy. I may have worded that post wrong, but I'm simply asking what exactly seems to be the problem with anyone being happy with the update as opposed to being completely dissatisfied with it.

I have sadly never ever participated in the GT Academy. So I have some questions and I hope you could answer them :)

- Do you have the possibility to make a setup for the cars you are using in each round or can't you change anything on the car?
- How many people of each country advance to the next?
- Do you have to be at the top positions round by round or does it only matter if you are the best at Round 4 in june?

Thanks in advance guys!

1. The cars are pretty much locked so you cannot do any setting up.
2. I want to say top 100 but I could be wrong. I think @Famine can give you a better answer on that.
3. If this runs the same way it did last year, Round 4 should be the one that determines whether you move on or not.

Depends on the country, but typically there are 24-32 people at the national final - including any wild cards like the various official time trial winners (usually including, but not limited to, GWFOS in the UK) or Facebook game winners.

That will be whittled down to 3-6 from each country for Race Camp, with the exception of nations that have standalone Race Camps (last year that was the USA and Germany), which will typically take 12-16 from their national final.

However... previous race camp finalists can no longer participate and that means that in countries like the UK, a top 50 spot may well be good enough to qualify for the national final with 36 people now ineligible through previous race camp participation - while in Germany even lower could well do it as there are around 50 people ineligible now due to the much larger Race Camps.

To add to what @Famine said, there are always people that qualify but don't go as well, for personal reasons, sometimes not being old enough etc.

Well I just sprained my ankle today. (I think) So I wouldn't be ready for it either, even though have 2 weeks to go.. :)

USA wasn't standalone. There were 4 drivers from Canada too. :)

A sprained ankle?.....is that all? :mischievous: Come on, I just had a stroke and I'm still competing. I had to switch my pedals around and everything to compensate for the loss of dexterity on my right side and you're complaining about a sprained ankle. :mischievous:  I wish that's all I had to worry about was a sprain. :p

I'm just messing with you. :) I know not everyone is a crazy fool like me.

It's just a minor sprain... The cause: Quick Match. XD

Don't worry Ill be in the top 28 eligible USA drivers by the end of June. :) (I hope)

You mean Canada wasn't standalone and there are also 28 drivers from the U.S. of A.:sly:

I'll just leave this here.

Just saw it on Facebook.

Perhaps, we will have the Abu Dhabi's track for GT6 or next Gran Turismo :)

Well, this would be quite awesome. A slight chance is there, but I won't raise my hopes up too high. :)

Good find.

An official advertisment showing the LMP1.
Looks promising.
I like it. :)
Yeah, looks indeed promising. I'm hoping it'll be the car for the final round of GTA, because WhsitleSnap hadn't found it in the car database and stuff, so I hope it'll be brought to the game with an update inbetween the GTAcademy period. :)

I prefer for the next-gen...But, if it comes to GT6 i will not complain...

Wouldn't be lame for GT Academy players (and Gt6 players overall) on the ps3, that they participate in a world cup of yound driver talents and it's all between winning or wining , that a new track would be revealed on the next-gen after the final round ended ??

Nah... this summer, we've a new track to discover (in gt6, on ps3) and I'm pretty sure it's a 24h track with day/night time too :sly:👍

I wouldn't be surprised if Abu Dhabi popped up in GT6 somewhere during the competition, considering it seems to be the new headquarters, but clearly that remains to be seen.

Maybe it'll be used with the LMP1 for the final challenge?

First round will start with using the Nismo GT-R road car.

Oh...mah...gawd. So that would actually mean then that the Rounds may go like this:

Round 1: Nismo GT-R at Silverstone
Round 2: Nismo GT-R GT3
Round 3: Z11SN Greaves Motorsport
Round 4: Nismo GT-R LM

Of course, still a guess. Now comes the question of the next tracks. Of course it could just consist of the other FIA approved tracks already in game.
