Does GTA actually have to be linked to GT6? I remember that you just downloaded it and it was separate. Why didn't they use PS4 to show a teaser of what GT7 can do now that most people own one? 2 years time to develop a 'next gen' academy demo is more than enough you would think.
There's still about 60 million more PS3s in the world than PS4s.

Gran Turismo 7 PS4 Release Delayed; May Drop In 2017

However, the franchise creator has explained the delay, saying that they are still in the process of making the title and won't be able to release a new game this year. As it stands, Gran Turismo 7 is projected to be out on the market in 2017.

There is no actual information in that article that we don't already know, and nothing indicating which year it will "drop" in.

2017 is mentioned once by the author, and she doesn't even attempt to come up with a reason for us to believe in that number.

It's best to just pretend the article doesn't exist.

You forgot three titles.

If you remove your GT7 prediction, you have three data points. It's not exactly a lot to make a projection from.

In reality, it is 6 main installments in 16 years, which makes an average of less than 3 years per game. There is one single game that could be called an "anomaly" in the main series. One game out of 6 does not indicate a trend.

Well although it's an arcade racer you already had Driveclub and with the release of PCARS next month, now would have been the perfect time for PD to show off some PS4 footage with GTA in order to counter the PCARS threat. But i guess i'm talking too much sense here and they decided to stick with PS3 .
It would also benefit Sony. Driveclub is out, Project Cars on the way, F1 2015 is coming here soon, and a big GT7 announcement would be the final piece to make a ton of racers get a PS4.

...plus 100+ million of PS1s, by your logic. 💡
Not my logic, if you want to make a point by showing how much previous consoles sold compared to the current one i might as well bring in PS2...

Assuming those all work.
PS3 is still being produced and supported, PS2 isn't.
It's a console that's past it's life cycle and you know that as good as i do. Once developers don't bring out new titles on it anymore it is surpassed, and that is now the case bare some lower grade conversions of current gen games (and even that is crawling to a hold).

Anyway point being GT6 players may still be based on PS3, but you are fast getting outdated compared to everything else that's released nowadays so it would have been wise of PD to jump ship, baring in mind the delay of almost 2 years they already have.

I'll agree that it is in the process of being phased out, but there are still many games coming out for PS3 in the future. The consoles are still being made and sold and officially supported, so it's not past its life cycle. Just near the end of it.

Obviously, the Transmission Fix is something the majority of users have been wanting, so that's fantastic that we finally have it. Not everything can be fixed with a Hot Fix. While I applaud PD for fixing the sound of a vehicle, it's disappointing to know it's a Vision GT car which I never drive. Oh well...The game doesn't revolve around me! I'm sure some of you will be happy to hear improved sound with that car. 👍

Sick to death of turning this game on for online racing only to find I've got to waste racing time doing yet another ******* update, part of which is to correct the **** up the last update did.
Just release the game when it's a complete game you ****wits.

Correct.
Or at least let me get online without having to do the stupid, pointless updates which I'll never, ever use, B Spec, crappy vision cars and **** knows what else .
The only updates I would bother sitting through are new tracks, at least give us the choice, rather than forcing them on us.

I just like getting updates to know that they care about us and are still developing the game

The update to me overall comes up as "meh". I mean, there's nothing more added than the VW Golf GTI Vision GT and GT Academy 2015. Those are the only things that spark my interest. With that said, I do wonder what GT Academy 2015 has for challengers and also wonder if I'll get "GT Academy" themed prize cars like in GT5.

I'm now very curious what the original thread title was.
The Original title was "1.18 CONFIRMED HYPEHYPEHYPE! GTAcademy!"
The Updated title was "1.18 CONFIRMED, GTAcademy has began!"
The 2nd updated title was ""1.18 CONFIRMED, GTAcademy has begun!"
Then the server came online and GTAcademy doesn't start until April 21st. So with much disappointment I updated the title to its current state, which is "1.18 CONFIRMED GTACADEMY begins April 21st"

Even PD are not so slow to release GT7 in 2017.

Remember GT5? Everyone thought it would be released in 2008. (I think). And all we got was a prologue.
