That's due to Larson being overshadowed by Austin Dillon, and his brother as they have been the spotlight of NASCAR for the last few years.

Meanwhile, Ryan Blaney, Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson have proven to be, in my opinion, better than the Dillons.

Racing is a privileged sport anyway. Theres no school or college to give you free equipment like stick and ball sports.

I bet Larsons family was rich just like Logano's

Why do I get the feeling that you seem somewhat bitter? You seem more concerned about their pockets then about their performance, which last I checked is still important (unless you pose scandily clad, get money from a country or make your living off false promises and insurance fraud).

According to his wiki page, Larson was attending races at 2 weeks old. Obviously his parents loved racing and gave him a chance. My father hated racing. So despite falling in love with cars and racing at 6 years old I was never given a chance. Now if I wanted to play basketball or football I could have thanks to the schools, and if I were good enough I would likely be offered a free ride through college playing the game, and then the pros would evaluate me.

Michael Schumacher once said the best driver in the world is probably a taxi driver from India who never got a chance.

If you want something bad enough, you'll find a way yourself to achieve your goals

You can say it's harder to be a great driver without being rich, but you can say that about everything. Now, post Aaron Hernandez, sports people are looking more and more into background and character- unless you are a once in a generation athlete like a Barry Sanders (Not saying this applies to Barry, but he's the best athlete of his generation quite easily), you need to have a solid background and character if you want to make it into the pros.

True but on the flip side, no amount of money allows a person to play professional football, basketball or baseball (they have to settle with ownership). How often do we see drivers in the field that basically had their seat paid for them? If you're related to a known family name, even better. Is it fair? No but life generally isn't. Even so, I do feel like auto racing has a monetary barrier much higher than most professional sports and raw talent alone just isn't enough.

Danica 4th in qualifying today.

Holy 🤬, she turned up at Martinsville and hasn't turned down since.

I'm still of the belief that it's really Johanna Long in a Danica Patrick costume, because there is no logical explanation why she's qualified well 2 weeks in a row on non-restrictor plate tracks when historically those have been her worst tracks. :dopey: Well, there is one explanation:

Wow. She goes from qualifying in the top 10 one week to qualifying in 4th today. Qualifying good once would've been just lucky, but twice? Its starting to look less & less like luck.

Well remember how John Wes Townley was nothing but a wreckfest waiting to happen? That guy hardly does it anymore believe it or not. It is actually possible for the worst drivers to stop being the worst drivers.

Also, you realize Danica Patrick is shorter then Johanna Long, Right? ;)

YEAH DANICA GET YTOU SOME MORE OF THJOSE TALLADEGA BEADS/

lmao. put harvick in the hall of fame because he's working miracles coaching her.

It could just be that SHR is unloading very fast cars on race weekends at 1.5 mile tracks.

Last weekend, in an exhibition race full of drivers that haven't won a race since at least 2012, Danica finished 10th. I think only three drivers (Bowyer, Ambrose, Menard) in the field had actually won a Cup race before.

I feel like this is correct, but don't completely discredit Harvick as a reason for her success

I think way too much credit is being given to Harvick for telling her to stop driving like she is scared, and to be more aggressive.

Could it be that in her second full year in cup she is starting to figure things out, is with a team that has good equipment and maybe...just maybe the lady can drive? Nah...couldn't be...noway...nohow, must be something or someone else, anything but that

Considering she had been floundering about in the Cup Series around 30th for the last season and up until Martinsville this spring, not counting Daytona/Talladega, when Harvick started telling her what she needed to do to get better and now she's fighting for top 10s and pole positions...

You two are rather salty about it...

I'm sorry, I must have missed the part where she has been fighting for top 10s and pole positions, in a plural manner, since Martinsville.

The only strong performance in a race was a top 10 at a 1.5 mile track where another SHR car (Harvick) clearly had the fastest car, and all 4 team cars made the top 12 in knockout qualifying. I'll credit SHR more for that one, since it has all the appearances of a fluke on her part.

The only other accomplishment of record outside of Kansas was a single qualifying effort from last night, at the very same track where she struggled to a 10th place finish in a grid comprised of three race winners the previous week. Of those three, only Bowyer is a seriously accomplished driver. Ambrose is a multiple-time road course winner with no oval victories. Menard won a single race on fuel mileage; it just happened to be the Brickyard 400.

When she starts qualifying and finishing in the top 15 for two straight months, I'll be much more willing to reconsider my position.

No, not salty...just enjoying the show :D

I wonder how long until her sponsors get tired of this BS and leave? Yeah Go Daddy has been around for 10 some years with her but that doesn't mean much anyway- it isn't like Jeff Gordon was running so bad in 1994 that you were hearing whispers that Dupont was leaving
