Wondering now what Fastenal will do.
Seems like Advocare is the only primary sponsor secure for 2015.
As @Justin said, Fastenal is moving to the #17.

#6 Bayne: AdvoCare, maybe Fastenal at Charlotte 600.

#16 Biffle: Fastenal will probably sponsor the Coca Cola 600 again, Meguiar's returns (more than 1 race?)... I have a feeling the Roush Performance sponsor he's running this week end for the first time this year will show more often in 2015. NESN for both Loudon races?
Is Aflac a Carl Edwards or Ford sponsor? if the latter I could see them sponsor a bunch of races.

#17 Stenhouse Jr: Fastenal + probably a mix of Ford Ecoboost, Zest, EcoPower oil, NOS Energy Drink, Cargill and Fifth Third Bank again. Are Valvoline and Best Buy gone for good?
That's a looot of sponsors for Stenhouse, some will possibly switch to other RFR cars.

with (Edwards) looking more & more out of the picture at Roush
more and more? he's for sure out, the team said so the Friday before the Indy race, and the driver revealed he already has a contract with another team. We won't know which until September at the earliest, though.

Apparently someone high up at Ford revealed CE won't be with the manufacturer anymore, that leaves few options:
1. CGR (would be a better mentor for Larson than Jamie Mac, who's a Free Agent)
2. JGR (as 4th team, but would really be number 1 bis)
3. MWR (as 3rd team, but would become their number 1)

3M wouldn't really work as a Jr. sponsor. Outside of the Guard, Jr.'s sponsors have mainly been products you can buy on a daily basis. 3M is much more a Gordon sponsor in that respect (How many fans drink Budweiser on a daily basis versus paint things with DuPont?)

Nice to see you posting
Roush has dropped the ball the last few years. Kenseth, Edwards, and Biffle were all great talents. I think they all made it into the Chase every year(or almost every year) but couldn't win a championship.

I don't like Stewart-Haas racing this year. Kurt really hasn't been that strong this year, Kevin Harvick was much better with RCR in his 29 car. I really don't know what to say about Stewart, and Danica is a waste of space.

Really this season has seemed like Penske vs Hendrick Motorsport.

I don't see how I'd easily put Harvick as one of the top 5 finals guys of the chase. He's been fast every weekend and is just having his share of bad luck now more than anything. He was probably the better of the RCR drivers which is why he was pissed off when he left, but he has driven arguably better this year than the past couple years at RCR. I feel that last great year Harvick had there was 2009 or 2010. I'd even say he's shown to be on par with Logano but has had more race ending weekends than Joey.

To be honest really I find it hard to see (knock on wood) anyone but an HMS driver winning this. I say that because of the attrition rates of the next top teams SHR and Penske, I'd also say the dark horse or horses of this season are Kenseth and Edwards. I may not see a ton of worth in finishing anywhere below 15th but it's due to that that SHR and Penske should be worried. They either have a great top ten weekend or decent lower top ten or they're finishing 25th and below due to some issue. Can't win on that type of stuff.

Misread and thought you said has, not had in the OP

It's fine thanks 👍

Harvick's 7th in the standings..? If I knew that I I probably wouldn't have said that.

Joe Gibbs Racing has been a top 10 team this season. If Kenseth got a win they'd be running 8th, 9th, 10th.

I think Kenseth has a strong chance at Michigan. Hasn't he won there before a couple times?

How is Newman there?! He's been virtually anonymous all season

Which is all of RCR, you hardly ever notice them when they actually finish top 5 because it's not expected of them. Same goes for top ten. The problem is that all the guys at the top have had frequent problems (some more than others) which is why these season will be quite crazy to the end I'd say. As well as why those drivers like Newman are up as high as they are, he's been more of a top 15 driver all season.

Actually Harvick is 8th and JJ is 7th, that image I posted was where the current seeds for the chase sit. So if the chase was tomorrow Harvick would be 7th. JGR as far as Matt goes more so has been top 10 all season the other two have been average as far as the chase goes, and I don't expect them to do any better. Kyle hasn't been driving like he wants to really win and Denny I don't know what he's doing. There is a reason why I'm giving RCR drivers a hand as well as Edwards because they are ahead of the better performing cars at JGR and SHR. Kyle is 15th, Denny is 20th, Kurt is 23rd and Tony is 21st.

While Menard is 17th and Dillion is 14th. There is a bit of bad luck or rather issues out of those drivers hands that RCR hasn't had on the same scale (though they've had it).

Just been announced that M&M Mars has renewed their sponsorship with Kyle Busch, which is a good thing because they would have been an odd sponsor for Carl Edwards.
You think? I always thought they were an odd fit for KB. With his nature Monster Energy seems more appropriate :D

Come to Subway and get the new 6" M&M sub. Add some Cheez-it for just 39 cents!
And introducing the newest addition to our menu, using JGR's newest sponsor Nabisco on our awful pizza-

..... Another thing I've heard is that Biffle's new sponsor is a current Edwards sponsor- supposedly only Subway is following Carl to JGR due to sponsor commitments.

Well Kurt has the Monster sponsor in NASCAR as well in lower series and his brother has it also in lower series for his team. I hear when you mix M&M's and Monster energy drinks something magical happens :sly:

Options are limited if so, Aflac or Kellogg's. Who's your mysterious source?

close, that's Mentos and Coke lol

18 teams are now in the RTA. Furniture Row Racing isn't one of them.

Front Row
Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates

Go Green / FAS Lane
Hendrick Motorsports
HScott Motorsports
Joe Gibbs Racing
JTG Racing
Michael Waltrip Racing
Phil Parsons Racing
Richard Childress Racing
Richard Petty Motorsports
Roush Fenway Racing
Stewart-Haas Racing
Team Penske
Tommy Baldwin Racing

Martin Truex Jr will miss practice and qualifying on Friday to be with his girlfriend who was just diagnosed with cancer.

Still no timetable for Stewart's decision on whether or not he will race this weekend.

Wood Brothers are going to be announcing their 2015 plans tomorrow.

And, the #4 team was fined $25K for the weight that was left in the car at the beginning of the race on Sunday. #98 team was warned about improperly adding/removing fuel from the car in the garage area (they were doing it inside the garage structure when it's suppose to be done outside of it).

That's the news for today so far. :dopey:

It's a union that isn't a union, or something.... No one really knows what the purpose of the alliance is, except for those that are part of it.

So a comment on NASCAR facebook about the #18 sponsor deal :

I'm glad to see that I am NOT the only one that has stopped eating M&M's because they keep sponsoring Kyle. I have been on an M&M strike for about 5 years now. Even the Bible states not to be a supporter of evil.

Like what?!

To me, that spells redneck.

Hmm. Kyle Busch is the Devil. This is news to me. I learned something new today.

I love that this person thinks they are really making a dent with what they are doing, nevermind the countless other people that don't watch NASCAR but still love M&Ms.

Dat crazy wheel be spinnin'

Two things. Never read FB comments on anything since there tends to be a collective there that makes our crazies on GTP look sane, and don't read the NASCAR websites Instant message-chat-comments on any of their articles or during races due to trolls.

CONCORD, N.C. -- Nine NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams will remain at Michigan International Speedway one additional day on Monday to test aerodynamic and engine combinations for the 2015 racing season.

According to NASCAR officials, the test is designed to validate extensive work done by the sanctioning body's racing development team.

Gene Stefanyshyn, vice president Innovation and Racing Development for NASCAR, said two different packages featuring various changes would be tested on the 2-mile track at MIS.

"We have a prime rules package and also will be doing a low downforce package, because some of the drivers have been very vocal," Stefanyshyn said. "They think (low downforce) is a solution ... so we're going to try one of those."

Under the low downforce package, approximately 28-30 percent of the downforce generated will be taken off the car by removal of the radiator pan (which was integrated into the current package which debuted this season) as well as the use of a 3.5-inch spoiler.

Stefanyshyn said Goodyear will bring "a sticker tire so we're going to give that a go, see what that's like."

The prime rules package will involve much greater changes and will include the use of dive planes, a 9-inch spoiler, six-percent rear differential gear ratio, three different power levels (engine horsepower) as well as a driver adjustable track bar. Dive planes are small strips on the left and right side of the front bumper areas about halfway between the splitter and hood.

The engine changes will vary from the current 850 horsepower to 800 and 750 hp. Stefanyshyn said those changes would be made during Monday's test through the use of different sized restrictor plates in order to gauge the effects. If it is determined that less horsepower works best with the aerodynamic changes being considered, how best to accomplish that for next season would still have to be decided.

"I think the aero changes that we have are the right ones," Stefanyshyn said. "We've still got to figure out the power variables ... we'll see which one provides the best racing."

The test is slated to get underway at 9 a.m. ET with six different sessions scheduled throughout the day. Teams are expected to make single-file 15-lap runs in every other session, with double-file runs making up the remaining 15-lap sessions.

Drivers scheduled to participate are: Jamie McMurray (Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates No. 1 Chevrolet), Kasey Kahne (Hendrick Motorsports No. 5 Chevrolet), Danica Patrick(Stewart-Haas Racing No. 10 Chevrolet), Paul Menard (Richard Childress Racing No. 27 Chevrolet); Brad Keselowski (Team Penske No. 2 Ford), Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (Roush Fenway Racing No. 17 Ford), Aric Almirola (Richard Petty Motorsports No. 43 Ford), Denny Hamlin(Joe Gibbs Racing No. 11 Toyota) and either Clint Bowyer (No. 15 Toyota) or Brian Vickers(No. 55 Toyota) of Michael Waltrip Racing.

Prior to the start of the 2014 season, NASCAR unveiled a rules package that included statically setting the race car ride heights and eliminating pre- and post-race front ride height rules.

A square leading edge was added to the splitter while adjustments were made to the rear fascia and side skirts and the spoiler height was set at 8 inches. The addition of 43-inch by 13-inch radiator pan completed the changes.
Interesting.

I'm hoping for low-downforce or no change. That prime package looks to be very expensive, so prepare for 36 car Cup fields

The funniest kind of Busch hater is one who worships the Washington Redskins and views Joe Gibbs as God, but then turns around and calls Busch the devil.
Also, if you all were wondering, the only two full time teams not in the RTA now is the 78 (I'm guessing due to it being based in Denver? Either way they are still an RCR team) and the 66 most weekends (Don't think Andy Petree is staying awake at night thinking about that one)
