@ITCC_Andrew yea it seems it was closer to the ocean my bad 👍

You can't really tell if its on land or not its hard to tell :odd:

No. 3 & 4 are.

Hope everyone is OK....

Yup, I feel bad for ribbing people about the rain now... tornadoes are bad stuff :\

@ITCC_Andrew ; What don't you like about Daytona? I'm genuinely intrigued to know.

Personally I think it's one of the most iconic tracks in world motorsport. It's full of incredible history and remains a great track that produces great racing... but only in my opinion.

I like tracks that I enjoy driving... Macau, Porto, Monaco, Spa, Nürburgring, VIR, Mosport (been there in real life numerous times,) Barber Motorsports Park, Brno, Hungaroring, etc. Because they're challenging. Daytona is just a few hairpins with a kink and a chicane. Woohoo, great track... And I don't like it.

Watching the end of last year's 500, when Johnson on the inside started coming through, why didn't Biffle or Patrick or Gordon drop down in front? The cars were hard to pass all day, so surely you're only going to win if you head one of the 2 lines?

Ok, Stig. I'll hook you up with a NASCAR car, better yet we can form a team. Race the Daytona 500 without crashing. I know I probable couldn't, but since for you, it's just 4 left turns, let's do it.

Johnson might need to do that this year, he has 37 cars to pass...

At the time I thought Danica would've won if she had gone down infront of Earnhardt at the end.

The idea of dealing with 42 other idiots, is the hard part. Driving a lap - or 200 - of Daytona without the other 42 idiots is easy. One idiot can only make so many mistakes on that course.

Surviving the race is only difficult because of the 42 other drivers.

Wouldn't say every one is an idiot... There's an element of survival to all nature of racing.

Andrew... Why the hell would they close the track for one "idiot"?

They aren't idiots, the track only holds 4-wide, with the closing rates and as twitchy as these cars are, they can barely go 3. But they have to.

To anyone who says it is easy. It is slightly now since Daytona was repaved. But can you yourself drive a 750hp+ 1500kg car with electronic aids and power to the rear wheels with ease? And then keep it together at 200mph, running in all the air and turbulence of 42 other drivers? Stock car racing can be boring, but it is also a black art to learn.

Anyone willing to get into a 200 mph car has to be an idiot. It's in the job description...

"Has to be willing to put life in danger for a tenth of a second."
