David Pearson. May actually be better than all of them even at his advanced age.
His last race was actually a Bristol Legends race a few years ago, a late model race with a field full of former Bristol winners.
It was scary because his son Larry was in a really bad accident with the great Charlie Glotzbach, and during the red flag David withdrew from the event to be with Larry.
But he had started near the back and had already moved up to 5th by the time the wreck happened, and was fast enough to win it. AKA a typical Pearson race.

Totally off topic here, but apparently we (I'm not sure when it started) are getting NBC Sports Network on our Dish package now (channel 159). :dopey: I don't have to worry about missing any races next year (except for when I'm working) and can actually catch all the F1 coverage now as well.

Welcome aboard 👍

One thing I'd strongly encourage you to do (if you haven't already) is make a list of the channels you watch the most. It'll save you a lot of trouble of scrolling through the channels and you'll get to watch only what you want to watch.

Noticed the same thing with Dish here. I hope its not a free preview. F1 is a nice bonus, but I really want to catch all the Indycar races Ive been missing for a while now.

I'm hoping it's not a free preview either. However, I don't think they would do a mid-late week free preview. Usually they reserve those for weekends. Here's to hoping it stays.

Danica wasted no time crashing in practice, and she took Kilgerman out with her. 👎

NNS practice on now. John Roberts mentions Dylan Kwasnieski has won his only race at Bristol in the K&N East Series. Jeff Hammond goes on to immediately say that this is [Dylan's] first race at Bristol.

:irked:

Yes!!! Thank you!!!

My old friend Pat Staropoli is racing in the K&N East series. Just finished 6th at Bristol. Apparently he won that Peak stock car challenge-- NASCAR's version of GT Academy. Proud of that guy. 👍

Did you see the show they had it on?

Nope. Missed it. Might wind up at med school with Pat when he's done with his sabbatical though. He grew up in my neighborhood and we used to hang out, then they moved out. Funny part is that he's best friends with one of my really good friends from middle school-ish days. They moved away a long time ago... didn't even know about him until I saw a Peak's sponsored feature on Jalopnik.

Since it's probably gonna be rain delayed, here's something to watch

This shows why I think the SAFER Barrier affected the racing negatively, without the barriers there was a whole extra lane to race on. Not saying that I'm against the SAFER Barrier's themselves, I just don't like the effect that they've had on the racing on the track. Between them and the increasing size of the cars, the tracks are not designed for the walls and the cars.

It was probably cheaper to just install the barriers instead of modifying the track/walls to not lose the 3-5 feet of space they took up.
