Him and Jr. have been the top 2 all year long
I think Keselowski should be in the conversation. Both Penske cars have looked absolutely dominant at some of the tracks this year.

EDIT: I would also nominate Harvick. He has been very inconsistent, but this is the first Chase ever where consistency won't matter if you have the speed to win once every three weeks. Harvick could definitely do that. If he's in the final eight (likely), you have to like his chance to win at Phoenix, where he was in his own area code in the spring race. That puts him in the final four showdown at Homestead.

Oh and Danica got the free pass
That was Danica being dumb on that restart....
SMH! she ended up 18th after wrecking Allgaier (who I'm rooting for to top her in points, took a hit today, scored only 2pts and is now 45 behind), Kenseth and others.

Does anyone know if Harvick has used an Outback Steakhouse livery this year? I bought a 1:64 model back in January with Outback as a sponsor.
Richmond in April, then Martinsville in October. Only scheduled races for Outback.
Idk if this would count as a third one? he ran it at Sonoma (see pic at bottom, too). "Outback" & "Bloomin' Monday" were on the right rear of the car and "Bloomin' Monday" could be seen on the right side of Harvick's seat.

Is there any word yet on if Chase Elliott will be in the cup series in 2015?
Chase Elliott could run some Cup races in 2015: Rick Hendrick's plan for NASCAR Nationwide Series phenom Chase Elliott evidently entails a few NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts next season, the champion car owner said Wednesday in an interview on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. The 18-year-old Elliott tops the Nationwide Series standings and leads all series regulars with three race victories. Dale Earnhardt Jr., co-owner of his JR Motorsports race team, has said that Elliott is likely to run another full season on NASCAR's No. 2 circuit next year. Hendrick, also a co-owner at JRM, sounded as if a few premier series starts will also be sprinkled into that mix. A test session in which Elliott tested the cars of Hendrick Motorsports champion drivers Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon convinced the team owner the youngster was ready, even before he took the Nationwide circuit by storm.
"We haven't arrived at a decision for sure, but I think you'll probably see him run a few races next year," Hendrick told the satellite radio network. "Before he ever won a Nationwide race, I watched him test Jimmie's car and Jeff's car at Nashville, and Jimmie and Jeff both commented to me, 'This kid is super smooth and super fast. He takes care of his equipment, and he doesn't get in a jam.' Although Hendrick currently fields four full-time cars, the maximum for one organization as allowed by NASCAR, rules do permit teams to run an additional vehicle on a limited slate for prospective rookie drivers.(NASCAR.com)(8-6-2014)

I'd love to see either of them take it home.

I think we can count Smoke out now... I don't really think we are gonna get a 2011 miracle
he could win one of the following three races and get in.

Because he didn't attempt to qualify for Michigan, he's not allowed into the chase even if he comes back and wins unless he gets an exemption from NASCAR
it's possible, two time Champ, incident happened outside of NASCAR, he'll still be in the Top 30 in points... TS could have run the last 2 races but wisely chose not and/or wasn't in a state of mind to.

I see Harvick in too, a Penske and 2 HMS guys.

So why was Shrek mad at JJ?
It was more JJ mad at no-neck-man to me.

I see :( So you could only make it on account of full timers?

Given the circumstances, if it does happen, who knows...

he could win one of the following three races and get in.

3 time*

Austin Dillon would be the ultimate upset/super-troll imaginable. Just picture him pushing the 88 car out of his way coming out of turn 4 at Homestead to put the #3 in victory lane.
Or Dillon being passed by Jr with 1 lap to go and Danica taking out Jr while being lapped coming out of 4 on the last lap at Homestead so Dillon wins then his car fails post race inspection so Aric Almirola wins finishing 19th in the 43 car

Its realistically impossible for Wise to get to 30th unless people in front of him stay home. On the other hand, if AJ can keep this momentum through the chase, he very well might get past the first elimination of the chase.
