GTD Turner Motorsports converting Z4 to GT3 spec and heading to World Challenge St.Pete http://sportscar365.com/gt/world-challenge/turner-set-for-pwc-entry-with-bmw-z4-gt3/
http://www.imsatiming.com/I'll formulate some of my own ideas later, but at the moment I'm more curious can anyone find results for Daytona including best lap? I can't find anything on the crap for navigating IMSA site. Grand Am used to have such things. What I'm really after is the fastest lap times for all the different classes (TUSC AND CTSC).
So basically what I've been saying all along, (albeit worded better) use a DTM style chassis as a base for the top class. I very much approve of that article.
That's what I would want. It has the sheer strength of the tube frame chassis with the rigid carbon cell.So basically what I've been saying all along, (albeit worded better) use a DTM style chassis as a base for the top class. I very much approve of that article.
Just read the article... guess we'll find out if they are leaving TUSC Monday? As a Grand Am fan I hope they stick around!
Not too sure, but I think we know now why L5 left. ST may be in deep doodooDo we have any further info on Turner and if they're leaving TUSC?
With CLK Management now in Colorado’s crosshairs, Tucker would make the situation even more confusing. He filed corporate papers in Kansas claiming that CLK no longer existed, that it had merged with a new company owned by the Indian tribes. The new company was called AMG Services. Tucker said he had no control over the company’s books.

Pickett Racing are gone too (for now at least) http://www.motorsport.com/tusc/news/pickett-racing-to-skip-long-beach-and-laguna-seca-rounds/
Funny how they are skipping 2 rounds where they have the big advantage.Pickett Racing are gone too (for now at least) http://www.motorsport.com/tusc/news/pickett-racing-to-skip-long-beach-and-laguna-seca-rounds/
I think it seems like there's a lot of unhappy fans due to all the negativity being blown into the stratosphere. It's not nearly as bad as it seems, but it certainly can be betterI hope this is a wakeup call for the series. I know between unnecessary yellows/full course cautions, lengthy cautions, NASCAR style late cautions for an "exciting finish", poor officiating, poor broadcasting/tv exposure, etc. there are a lot of very unhappy fans and quite a few have already written the series off.
I love the series as I loved ALMS and Grand Am, and I love multiclass racing. However I expected more of the main concerns early on coming from BoP issues, not all the ones I mentioned above.I think it seems like there's a lot of unhappy fans due to all the negativity being blown into the stratosphere. We all expected the problem to be the hard part. That being the BoP. We all expected the easy parts: race control, tech bulletins, race procedure, etc. to be a given. IMSA has done a pretty good job of BoP, but they've missed the party on what should be simple stuff. That's what's getting everyone caught up so far. There will always be those same 9 or 10 idiots in the IMSA "fan group" who foam at the mouth to spew negativity. Those same people claim to be done with the series only to watch the next race or not but yet still keep complaining over and over and over. I wasn't at Sebring, so I can't say what the atmosphere was there, but at the Rolex 24, the atmosphere was amazing. Fans were excited to be there. There wasn't any animosity from what I saw.I love the series as I loved ALMS and Grand Am, and I love multiclass racing. Truth is there are fans already walking away from TUDOR so things need to be addressed soon. I was at the 12hrs of Sebring so I saw it all live. The people that didn't only got to see about 45min of racing on TV due to cautions/commercials from the already short 3 hour coverage of a 12hr race.
From talking to various other people who were there, that was their big complaint, and I have to agree. The amount of cautions as well as the time per caution was unacceptable. They have to get better, but I'm not writing it off either. Pointing fingers doesn't help, but when IMSA has it this bad with race control and caution procedure, it's pretty obvious that there's some issues to resolveI'm not writing off the series, I enjoy it even with its growing pains but improvements need to be made. I was at both the Daytona 24 and Sebring and the crowds at both were packed, full of excitement, and overall enjoying it. However at Sebring the amount of cautions and whether or not they should of been local or full course, and the length of them was very frustrating and many people there were vocal about it.
Funny how they are skipping 2 rounds where they have the big advantage.
I also see this in the same vein as AMR. The "I'm not winning, so I'm not racing" mentality. At least they're coming back to give it another go
MM should have known this could be an issue going in. We've seen Signatech have the same problems with the car in prior races. In order for MMPR to race in 2014 no matter what series here or overseas, they had to get a new car. They could have gone with a safe route and gotten the HPD. Then, they could have collaborated with ESM and shared data while working on a car that's very similar to the one they had been using. Also, Pickett at least used to own a DP chassis. If he still had that, he could have used it. There's also plenty of DP chassis out there, or he could buy a new one.Except unlike AMR, Pickett Racing only five weeks between receiving their car and having to be on track at Daytona so they don't have nearly the amount of test data on their car (that and having a power steering problem is both a competitive issue AND a safety issue).
