Kinda sucks how P1s and P2s are all moving towards this standard look of really high-angle headlights, flat sides, and closed cockpit with the central rear plane. Why is this the case? Is it purely a safety angle or what?

One word...Aero. You have to look at it like this, designers are stuck in this box (regulations, physics etc.) and they have to maximize the design. There generally is one "best practice" given this box and once one finds it the others will quickly follow suit, or be left behind.

That is true. I guess I think it's more an issue because I purely don't like the aesthetic of the new look cars. I prefer the open-top cars we've had recently, even the coupes of recent years and yesterday (Bentley Speed 8 anyone?).

Also I think the FIA's fixation on not letting a car 'submarine' under another isn't helping, meaning we have these very raised-up headlights on the LMPs and stupid noses on F1 cars. I assume that's the reason why anyway?

Agreed. Martini is one of those brands which looks good on ANY car. Kinda like any oil/fuel company: Texaco Havoline, Gulf, Shell, Pennzoil, Mobil 1, Valvoline...

i was pulling for Flying Lizard. I saw a driver swap at Sebring right in front of me. The driver that got out was quite small... not Spencer Hes pretty tall

He also seems to have a nasty habit of when he goes wide in a corner to keep his foot in it.. That's racing I guess... Good race though, I'm gutted for the Lizards..

Big day for the BoP in Prototype class. If DP dominates again I can see a lot of P2 teams getting very frustrated/angry.

I don't like the rule that allows teams to not start the driver that qualifies the car. It ended badly in Long beach, and it almost ended badly again in Laguna

Either way, the Gus bus is rolling!

It makes absolutely no sense to me that the DPs get such a huge horsepower advantage. It means they are better in a straight line, and powering up off a corner, and being heavier means they get heat in the tires quicker meaning they can spring out into an early lead. With the P2s only really having an advantage under braking.

Strange. Seems to me like TUSCC is still reluctant to completely even up BoP?
