Congrats to Alex, Nico and the rest of the Toyota team. Well deserved. Somewhat mundane race but the result really makes it worth it.

Glad the Strakka was able to get 5th position back at the end, would have been unfair that they would have lost the position due to Primat's terrible attempt at an overtake earlier in the race. Shame the coverage didn't show Strakka overtake, instead focusing on an Audi circulating by itself. 👎

Also, good to hear that Interlagos has been confirmed for the 2013 WEC calendar. 👍

So, Toyota go 140 races without an F1 win before getting a WEC win in their 3rd go.

Nice to see Audi won't dominate Le Mans next year, and we're in for a good LMP battle.👍

Just came back from Interlagos. The sound of the Ferraris echoed the whole straight until they braked and downshifted for Senna S. The Rebellion Lotus (P1) sounds are awesome as well, and the most beautiful car in the whole grid. Gonna upload more pictures and videos from yesterday (not from my cell ) and from today as well. I "took" a picture with Tresson, while he was signing autographs. He wasn't that happy at the time so I prefered to not disturb him and took one with Bernoldi. The guys from the Morgan Nissan team had smiles, played with children while signing autographs, while others didn't want any relation with the people it seemed. Stayed for 5 hours, after the Toyota #7 was the only car in the lead lap, me and my father came home. We live across the city, so it was good to get out early and avoid traffic.

Congrats to Toyota. I missed the end because I fell asleep. Sounds like it was real close at the end. Is there a replay somewhere that I can watch?

So proud of Toyota! Feel so lucky to have seen the car running around Silverstone, and now they've already won in their first season, awesome!

Not even Audi won in their first season. Toyota did it in the 3rd (2nd full) race. And they think Bahrain will suit their car even more! Bring it on. Loving this result, obviously. Hopefully Nakajima can be a part of it next race!

Yeah I have to be honest in saying I never thought much of the Nak but now he's really been showing lots of awesome driving, can't wait to see how the rest of the season goes, this rivalry playing out through the whole season is already so much better than Le Mans xD

I'm a big Audi fan, but I feel that Toyota deserved to win after being unjustly denied a chance at finishing a WEC race three times (The testing accident that cancelled their Spa debut, Anthony Davidson, and Nakajima).

Also, I'm going to have to officially declare the Ferrari 458s the absolute worst race cars in all of Le Mans history. They are a safety threat that have had constant incidents with LMPs at nearly every race, including at the start of this one. I honestly think that the car should be redesigned/replaced, as I believe there is a flaw with it that's preventing those drivers from actually seeing the prototypes.

EDIT: The main crash that occurred at the start of the race:

You can't really fault the Ferrari itself in this case because the accident looked unavoidable anyway.

As for the accident history of this vehicle, I'd say a lot of them are due to driver error than inherent design flaw.

I hope this means something that isn't an Audi will win at La Sarthe next year, but I wouldn't bet against the Germans...

Toyota's facility is in Cologne Germany, so they're technically a Japanese German team, with a head Frenchman in Pascal Vasselon!

Anybody catch Hindhaugh saying that BMW had wanted to enter the WEC in GTE but couldn't because too many rounds clashed with DTM rounds?

He said BMW wanted to use it's crack Schnitzer team run by Charly Lamm.

With 10 DTM rounds and 20 Formula 1 Grands Prix which never clash, that's 30 race weekends that every other series including the WEC is trying to fit their calendar around, mean it's unlikely to happen.

Wasn't he in the Peugeot camp running the engineering squad?

No, you're thinking of Olivier Quesnel who also used to run the Citroen rally team.
Pascal Vasselon has been part of Toyota at Cologne since 2006.
