But the first mod I've downloaded was this:

Lada 2106 :D
Like a real Lada, it didn't work from the first attempt. I had to tweak something to make the setup validable.

What exactly did you tweak, because I was going to use this bad boy and my setup wasn't valid either :(

Guys, I have a model of PS13 Silvia (including an Initial D skin), it drives nicely but the sounds don't work on the 1.00 version. Is there any way of setting the sound files to make them work, or at least put sounds from another car?
Such a cool model but too bad it doesn't have working sounds.

Sounds stopped working for all modded cars a few months and patches ago when Kunos switched over to the Fmod sound engine.

Many of the mods have been updated to work with the new sound engine so scout around for a newer version of the car. If one of them hasn't and you want to use another car's sounds as a temporary fix go to:

Your "SteamLibrary" folder >
"SteamApps" folder >
Common >
Assetto Corsa >
Content >
Cars...

All of the cars you have in the game will be listed in their own folder here (you probably all already know that if you've installed community car mods). Enter the one that you want to take the sound from, then enter the "sfx" folder. In there, you should see two files:

A .BANK file with the same name as the folder you are in/the car
A .txt file called GUIDs

Copy both of these files, go back to the list of all of the car folders, enter the folder of the car you want to add sounds to and then it's "sfx" folder, paste your two copied files here.

Next, open the GUIDs .txt file in wordpad or notepad >
Press ctrl and H on your keyboard >
Type in the name of the car/folder you have taken the files from in the "Find" box (example: lotus_49) >
Type in the name of the car/folder you are pasting the files into in the "Replace With" box (example: ford_escort_mk2) >
Press the "Replace All" button and save the file. >
Click on the .BANK file and rename it to the same name as the car/folder it is in (example: ford_escort_mk2) >
You should now have sounds on your modded car donated from another vehicle.

If anyone needs more clarity, I'll record a .gif of the process, it only takes a minute to do.

Help, I re installed AC today and now all the downloaded tracks I have won't work. The track shows up in game but won't load. I have done a few fresh downloads but they don't work either. Any ideas ?

Copy and paste your downloaded content into another file for safekeeping. Delete them from the game. Try one track and put it back and see if it works. If not, download it again and see if it works.
All my mods work, cars and tracks, but I have sound issues with some of the cars as in no sound. Haven't had a problem with the tracks.

Some of the mod cars have pre-FMOD sounds and haven't been updated to support FMOD and that's why they don't have sounds. There's a way to copy/paste sounds from another car into the mod car folder to get sounds though, scroll up a few posts to see how.

There is no good reason for this to be happening, I recommend to just re install the whole game again, I have a LOT of add on's track and cars and no issues what so ever, it is most likely a faulty install.

I had installed steam to D/ drive and it seems that was the problem :\ . Once I re installed steam back onto C/ drive everything worked. Strange thing is that the mod cars worked when steam was on D/ drive but not the tracks ? Now I have steam on C/ and AC on D/ drive :) and everything is happy

I finally stopped putting it off and figured out how to create engine sounds in FMOD. Once I looked up on how to get a project started on the AC forums, I was on my merry way to restoring my modified Supra's sounds within around an hour, and half of that was experimenting with the program. It was pleasantly similar to some of the various Magix Music Maker/Editing programs I have been using since 2002.

I tried my highly tuned Supra in AC just now and it worked first time, just needs a couple of adjustments! Now all I need are a collection of real and high quality sound samples so I can start fixing some other modded cars.

Edit: LMAO, ten minutes after posting this and I recieve an email from Magix thanking me for my loyalty. Coincidence, or are they following me? :nervous:

Everythings fine :)
And you??

We need to meet eachother online so you can beat me by miles like in the old days :P

Yeah, good mate. I think you beat me in my first online race on GT5 lol! We do need to get in a race though. :)

Also tried the 787B for the first time yesterday... miles more entertaining than GT's.
