One good thing to do in the Egoista is to select the instrument panel face in CM Showroom and change almost all the values to zero:

upload_2019-2-12_22-32-50.png

Edit: change ksDiffuse: 1.35 above. The instruments take some subtle shadow then.

This stops the display getting blown out in direct sunlight - the surround will take glare and shade, but the display itself won't and will always remain clear. This is worth doing on many convertibles (or glass cockpit cars!) if the instruments turn white in direct sun.

@gladbecker82, I had to copy the audio from the original Egoista before your latest one would load. It's a common problem when cloning cars.
Fancy doing some more paint jobs for the Egoista?

please redownload the clear window file, a soundbank error suddenly sneaked in for me.

See my edit above ;)
I shared your glass mod on the shader discord, I think it'll be welcomed. :)

yeah, i would love to do a Grasser Racing Replica or something perhaps, but i have to figure out the skin file first

a simple fix for the crosshair. open the roof, click the crosshair and then replace the texture with glass.

I somehow managed to completely bork the whole car doing that, lol. Can you please re-up with the target gone?
I changed the material, not the texture. CM had a tantrum.

Hi

I really like your physic rework but the flames are now broken. Texture folder contains no more flames sub folder and even when replacing it by the original files, flames still doesn't appears.

edit : adding original flames.ini and flame_presets.ini in data folder, and adding origiinal texture folder and flames sub folder restore flames exhaust.

Hi unpierrot,
I'm glad you like it and thank you for the feedback.
I've updated the gtx1 adding the flames it deserved! :)

Would you be able to make a skin that keeps the orange wheels and accents?

Can't you just copy the skin from the original car?

no crosshair edition

amazing how great this thing looks if you strip it off its Hot Wheels roof

This still has a little frosted glass octagon in the eyeline, just now without the target texture. Is there any way to make it disappear completely?

Edit: a helpful chap on the shader patch discord solved it!
Add this config to \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\extension\config\cars\mods

The glass HUD and its little bracket have now gone.

Edit: here's a link to the completely HUD-free version (including the config above) with the bloom on the instrument panel fixed, and the original skin added. Unfortunately the glass fix has deleted the orange accents and orange wheels - those need separating out from the car body to be coloured differently (car body, glass and wheels share the same material/texture. Daft!)

(audio MIGHT need copying from the original mod, not sure)

So i fixed it, this file is the original color scheme/material, but without the orange roof.

It isnt a skin, i changed materials and its not possible to paint this car except for base color in content manager.

Lol, so many versions of this car floating around now I can't keep up. Does this one have my HUD removal/instrument cluster bloom fix?

Something else that would be cool and might be easy to do due to the nature of the Egoista 'roof' and the ease in removing it: a windscreen-free convertible version.
It'd be nice to drive it without those silly window bars everywhere.
Anyone?

No, its only with the transparent roof, and yes, since you have to switch materials there have to be many variants. i keep one without the crosshair and the original car without the orange roof

i replaced the materials with glass and all the textures with glass, but it looks like this

but the crosshair popped up again, i put this car to rest, there is like 5 versions out there.

I was wondering about removing the glass cockpit and frame altogether to make it properly 'open-topped', not changing the materials properties. I don't have any 3D software (or the necessary smarts) to do this though.

Paging @delpinsky ! ;)

I see what I can do.
I'll remove the cockpit and update this post.
Honestly I don't like the car at all :D

who is good at converting gmotor2 tracks (GTR2 - GTL) to Assetto ?

black_022 (the metal part of the cockpit) Renderable=FALSE
From outside you see the metal, from inside only glass. Not the nicest solution, but you should redo the cockpit glass

Version 2, better glass effect, with sun reflections.

Looks good! I'll get a chance to test it soon.
Can you not remove the glass completely to make it fully open to the elements?

gladbecker82
lets make this a GT3 machine
cc the usual suspects ;)

i do a skin for it now

It is the RTM version isnt it? Do you have a template for the car? Maybe I´ll make a skin if I can find the time in the next few weeks...

I would love to see the radical gt3 in AC. It already is in RF2 so data should be relative easy to get...

i just googled this car and saw that it has a GT3 car as well, but more under the radar, cause i never heard of this.
but from the looks, the Gt3 has no additional wings or something.

i created a template with content manager and gimp, its a 4K dds file
Radical

i discovered that on some cars its called skin, on others body, and it doesnt work when it has the wrong name. so maybe the Xbow GT4 skin will work after all if i test it.

Woop woop! I managed to hide the glass and frame completely to make the Egoista Targa.

Iybtrpr.jpg

It's brilliant in VR now - no dark glass, no prison bars, no hud. Being able to hide objects using the shader patch opens up all sorts of possibilities.
Edit the config I previously posted to the following:

upload_2019-2-13_19-5-23.png

or plop the config into \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\extension\config\cars\mods
