I've done this several times with original cars and tracks (Nordschliefe to name one) and I've never had any problems, steam only checks original content, anything that is modification should be coupled anyway without deleting or modifying anything. Obviously, you'll need to reinstall the mods associated with (Imola) that you reinstalled with this method.

As I said, 6k+ cars with ALL the same preview, not a possibility to Steam check the file just for ONE small annoyance (track still drive great, but still have some visual problem with it)

Rename "assettocorsa" folder to something like "assettocorsa_old".
Rename "Imola" folder to something like "Imola_old".
Install AC from Steam and copy the files from imola folder to "assettocorsa_old".

Now delete "assettocorsa" folder
Rename "assettocorsa_old" folder to "assettocorsa"
You should have everything back with the original "Imola" track (and the corrupted one in "Imola_old" folder which you can delete or leave and copy files you are sure to work fine)

That would require me to have additional storage which I dont.
And getting Imola only, its a simple drop in the right folder, overright when prompted and done!

Beautifull , but I had hoped the update would run better...
still it's using approx twice the gpu power compared to average other car... and so unusable to me
(not being able to keep steady fps in vr is a no-go)

Please put focus on this for a next update?

I just dont understand, after looking at your system specs you posted in your signature, why you cant just get an extra HDD or external drive. Surely having a backup of this AC that you are so concerned about losing, would be of utmost importance, then of course having the backup on an external drive, would be no issue. Another HDD or external drive would be a fraction of the price you paid for the wheel, or graphics card alone and something that I would think is necessary, since you are so concerned about your current install, if you don't already have a backup, you're playing with fire...

Just curious, does anyone know how to force AI to use CSP options? Is that possible?

For example, a car with CSP extras changes its bodywork or aero package using CSP Extra Option 1, so you can equip that by hitting the key bound to option 1 on your keyboard, but the AI will still be driving with the default car. Is there any way to force the AI to use that extra option?

The rFactor 2 version is totally off on this part of the work, in 65-66 the tarmac was way more dark.
I can try to figure that

You just saved me hours of tedious UI and tag editing. Had some messed up sounds and was putting off a verify files, but I found a new missing sound tonight and remembering your post, I tried that and I was back up and running in 20 min. Thanks for the simple idea!

I would add (for those that have the HD space / internal or external) is if you go through the first part, you might as well throw the clean AC download there for future issues. It is only 41GB. Renamed mine assettocorsa_Original_backup on an external, but it doesn't matter. I just wouldn't keep it in the steam folder so there's never a mix up.

In my experience, turning OFF some of the extra stuff helps on certain tracks, especially navigating tight corridors like hairpins or the pits, etc.


Try turning off: Steer More Carefully in Tight Corners and Use Simpler AI Spline.

Also, try troubleshooting by turning off the Advanced AI mode, if they run fine then it's def a setting on that page. Sometimes I have to disable basically all the AI Tweaks and Extras for them to behave on certain tracks.

This fixed it! AI works great now on Nordschleife!

Breathe's list says Kunos version is folder name "imola" (so not ks_imola as I expected it would be named),
for me that is a 2023 version by Fenryr here (patreon but free to download) .
I guess I must have hit "clean install" when I installed it and in doing so instead of adding his layout I erased the Kunos one completely and am left only with the (working mind you ) 2023 version of Fenryr.

So if anyone here still has the original Kunos Imola layout, please put a copy of your imola track dir up on easyupload (or some other temp solution).

I also do not keep a backup of my AC content folder ( which is already 2+ TB )

Maybe I should get me a 3 or 4 TB extra drive for Black Friday... and start keeping a backup...

Yep, I'm well aware just saying it would be cool to have a C6.R with RSS quality, you know? And since we are on the subject, I've talked to him about the car a while ago and he's doing a great job with it, he already had some skins for the car. We've exchanged work on both of the C6Rs and safe to say his is better. It has the "Corvette" and "GMAC" window stickers and the light indicators on the sides that was missing from my version. I have a bit of a nit pick with his car, I like the wheels on mine better and the black mesh materials look more accurate too (IMO). Side by side comparisons. And don't worry he has a non restrictor plate version coming too.





My progress on the skins were going as planned, I wanted to go by chassis to chassis, skin by skin in order. I am on chassis 001, I've worked on the 2005 LM and ALMS skins and even new European on from GLPK. I wanted to transfer my skins to his car, but his has a completely different mapping then mine, therefore I kind of felt like I've wasted my time a little. Not sure where to go from here... He's already working on the skins on the cars so they're isn't a point to press forward with mine and or his car. My car has been sitting put, left and abandon for a long time, that's the status as of now.

The guy is not asking for these DKWs. The ones he is talking about are the ones made in Brazil (VEMAG), licensed from the German manufacture (DKW).

Answering this question, I doubt anyone ever converted or did VEMAGs cars for AC.

P.S. I would love to see more FJs in AC. A Lotus 18-FJ would be beautiful in this game!
