This is quite an astonishing story - you were basically ripped, if this is true.

There's another comment earlier that says that modder did "amazing job" on buildings , track itself etc. - it's weird to have such different views on the same work.

But yeah, with paid stuff, it's best to be careful, ask for some comparison images/videos upfront so you can decide for yourself, etc.
It was me saying they did amazing job... on buildings, and all the "around" track. Looks like they put all energy into the cosmetics, and maybe less into the track. But not a lot of people tried the track itself.

Hi all,
Hope you are doing well.
See picture, driving full throttle but brake-discs remain glowing.
Is someone familiar with a solution for this? Many thanks in advance.

Yeah, they probably won't, at those prices! - But it's good that people feedback here, useful info for the future for those looking for that track.

I simply can't believe someone pays 16k for 4 mod cars. It has to be made up surely. Kunos themselves wouldn't pay anywhere near that for the cars they got freelancer's to make. If you are really parting with nearly 4k for a pixelated car you deserve to get ripped off IMO.

I drive 45 championships so i use allot of carpacks or combos. If you don´t mind manually BOPing (with ballast and restrictor)
i could surely suggest some to you.

What I can warmly recommend to you is this BOP project, which I am also a little proud of, because it is already very very good and a final update is already in the works

How do you set the "BoP" values so precisely? Do you do a lot of testing over a long time?

I used to think that was crazy money too, still do, but then I got some inside info on what HSS charges for customised stuff and how much they were paying their modders to do the work and, yeah, the world is working on a far higher pay grade than I am, clearly.

The mods of Jugee8 are really good (maybe the old ones little lesser). I pay him normaly 1 Euro for one mod, because its converted but there is still a lot of work
Yep, they're an absolute pleasure to drive in VR, the shader work in the cockpits is flawless. He obviously takes a lot of pride in his GT7 ports, the attention to detail is commendable when so many modders are happy to release cars with glaringly conspicuous graphical glitches.
Having said that, the wipers on the two Mitsubishi GTOs don't work, despite both having configs for them. I'm guessing there's a simple typo somewhere, so can any wiper experts here shed any light?

Just catching up after a couple of months away from AC and just wanted to say thanks to @shi for this great version of Adelaide, it's leagues better than the Terra21 F1 1992 version.
I don't suppose whoever added the flag-waving spectators to the F1 1992 version would be interested in adding them to this 1985 one?

You paid 15k for 4 mods?!! For that sort of money i'd of wanted at least once to go and visit where they operate from or at least a video of their set up.... I mean they are disgraceful, but people are clearly making it easy for them to act this way....
Why in hells name would you spend that money on mods like that?
It was $3K per car. At the time, four different teams told us their Lamera Cup cars were just as good as VRC, RSS, URD, and IER in terms of physics which was all we really cared about. Plus, they were supposedly cheaper too. (I probably should’ve looked into it more, but I wasn’t the one in charge of this whole fiasco back then, so I didn’t find out until we actually got the mod back.)

So yeah, $3K felt fair for a full 3D model with physics. We could’ve sent someone to check things out, but we trusted the teams we talked to, so we didn’t bother.

In the end, it didn’t really matter. We made the money back like a week later after signing four sponsors onto our cars. We ended up putting that cash into another 3D team we met at an event they’ve worked on a bunch of racing games over the years and honestly, it was totally worth it.

There’s a lot of really cool cars that have been modelled before but we’ll probably never see in a sim, like the Lamera Cup, Vortex V8, Ligier race cars, so many FIA Group CN sports prototypes.

I wish racing teams would make them available to their fans to drive, but I know there’s licensing issues and such.

But seriously though, providing a car mod in AC for your fans and hosting hot lap challenges or a server for racing seems like a pretty easy and solid way to drive engagement on social media. Why does it seem like only the Russians (SMP racing) of all people are doing that lol?

Hey just testing MSF F1 2004 cars. Anyone knows if they're a commercial product or not? Sometimes pretty much impossible to know. That was a boring season though... total Ferrari dominance so I haven't paid that much attention to these before.

They have some skin issues and some problems to make them perform realistically (with eachother) and McLaren has very annoying flames from the rear when shifting... but they drive really well.

Were just adjusting them the other day. Nice work whoever made them.

PS: 2003 would be much better season to create... but those cars are made by <drum roll> SimDream. No more SD for me. Ever again.

Is there any chance of an update in CSP compatibility?

They are. If I recall it's 15€ for the whole squad?

Also 2003 I've heard that theraceproject will update the simdream mod and make his own improvement on them.

Is there a possibility to make a texture only kn5 ?
Or replacing a texture file without openning in fbx?

What is the purpose you're trying to achieve?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but if you want to change a texture, putting the texture with the same name as the one you want to replace in the skin folder would be the better idea? That is the "Replacing a texture without opening fbx" way if i understand.

Because else if you want to use kn5, and the way I understand it, it would mean that you have the same object with your texture and material on that kn5, then use csp to replace the old track part with your kn5 that has the texture you want?

But kn5 definitely needs materials

HELP NEEDED (from cars modders if possible).

I almost never ever worked on cars, only tracks, but i have some mods that requires some fixes for the driver position.
Except doing it via blender which requires too much time and effort, i remember that was possible to move the driver in CM.

I tried yesterday, but i was able only to move forward or back, up or down. It was ever possible to move the nodes of the elbows, knee and other parts in CM to make the perfect position, or i remember totally wrong?

Thanks
I'm necroposting this.

I've dwelved enough in driver animation and trying to get that thing go through. Writing a guide to at least help with the static position of drivers.

This should work for exporting the base driver_base.knh file that shows how the driver seat.

I'll also add on how to move the hands and arm per frame to fit with the steering wheel.

Hopefully this would help people who have an issue with base mods driver seating but couldn't put a foot in the realm of howtfdoiputthedriverragdollinblender issue.

Moving the driver into the correct position is not the problem, its what settings to use in Blender to export it that then doesn't confuse KSeditor and literally put his head in his arse... or am I the only one that seems to have that issue? 🤔

While on Frame 0, select the DRIVER_DRIVER node (in pose mode), then export using fix driver:driver and the "export driver_pose.knh"

EDIT : I should add also that DRIVER_DRIVER should never be touched, its coordinate needs to stay at 0.0.0 and 90.0.0, if this is touched it messes with the position when exporting

So you are no the only one that has been scammed by them lol

The company i work for commissioned and paid for their Ligier JSP325, JSP320 & both the JS2R's as we run both of them as a team.
They are truly terrible. We paid an combined figure of $15K for all 4 models, and we ended up using all 4 cars ONCE before binning them taking the L and contacted another company instead and got something that is of quality of VRC. Biggest waste of our company money ever spent & everytime we try our hardest to warn other teams from buying their terrible stuff.

They are not even worth leaking.
I wonder how much you paid for the better, VRC quality mods.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. But this last edit part is probably where I'm going wrong because I have tried to replace the helmet before, and that was probably inside the Driver_Driver part.

FULL 2008 F1 season, with co-operation with CIMMERIAN ITER.
=======================================

First co-operation project with a fellow GTPlanet member Cimmerian Iter/Kakauiyt. His 2008 cars are masterpieces and FREE. They {really drive well and are comparable to VRC 2005/2007 cars.

Video has a commercial track (2010 layout of Singapore). The downloadable track is the free version. I don't spread paid mods.

I created all new track skins with period correct ads for genuine 2008 season experience. I also did new 2008 TV graphics used (Used Vuluth's 2022 leaderboard as a base).

User is set to Kimi (King of cool) Raikkonen who actually had a bad season. Hamilton at McLaren with AI level 100 and Massa/Ferrari at 99 are extremely hard to beat and title will be decided between them (unless you make outstanding performances).

Of course you can easily change the season to play with anyone you want from the champs files.

100% correct schedule and extremely realistic results/performance. Video description has all the downloads.

I worked for days to get the correct 2008 sponsors to each track. Monaco was the biggest job. I don't have the modding skills of the experts but I work hard and I actually love to play these seasons. That's my only motivation, I love F1 and AC is the only platform that enables us to make F1 gaming history like this, at this level.

I want TV graphics, I want the correct atmosphere.

All tracks are carefully hand picked and the absolutely best there is to offer. Great AI, only Magny Cours 2011 is an easy(ish) pole (for me). Very challenging season but the cars don't do any idiotic things at all (great job) and the track ai's are great.

BRIDGESTONE is the main sponsor for all tracks so it goes without saying all BRIDGESTONE banners are there of course.

PS feel free to use/modify my 2002, 2005, 2007 etc. track skinpacks anywhere you want. I don't want to see any AC classic F1 videos with ARAMCO, SALESFORCE, Crypto.com and HEINEKEN ads anymore. Now there's no excuse to use them (or DRS signs) anymore in your classic F1 vids. Those are just horrible to watch for a HC fan like me. :D
