... great games but I'm absolutely sure that nothing will ever replace AC1 for me...

Anyone know what this is called?...
A bit delayed, but perhaps this could help?...
YES! yes it bloody well would help...
Bloody hell, that Community is amaaazing... 😊

Just came to tell that while playing my new 2002 F1 season (and using the 1998 track pack as a base) I have to say that those are the best F1 tracks ever made.

@shi gets full credit for making them to look absolutely accurate and perfect. But @Thockard AI's are insanely good. I can drive those tracks (Imola, Interlagos, etc.) blindfolded because I've driven them for years in AC... and many times even AI 100 isn't fast enough... but driving these 1998 tracks against AI actually feels like real hardcore racing.

The ai's are SO good, it's amazing. The guy doesn't get enough credit for making them so competitive. His AI's should be mandatory for every track. No crashes, no crazy stuff and insanely competitive.

People who say AC's ai is not good are wrong. When the track fastlane and cars are very well done, AC's ai is actually very good.

Sure the blue line/outlap AI doesn't exist and you have to use moderate driver AI aggression to avoid crashing (and that causes the idiotic behaviour sometimes when they can't overtake outside the racing line)... but ironically when the season is built around just skins (same base car) you can get much more even grid and in 20 lap races there is not going to be that many backmarkers.

PS: Played a few hours of EVO and LMU yesterday... great games but I'm absolutely sure that nothing will ever replace AC1 for me. The ability to tweak everything is just so unique. Ahh... the kerbs are too slippery... well go to the car data and adjust the suspension then. With those other titles you're at the mercy of the updates and programmers. Communities and niche hardcore stuff will never see the light of the day in those "locked sims". You know like... "I want to drive the 1982 Caesars Palace or 1984 Dallas"... sure... but only in AC (and rF1/2). :D

I love Parrilla's work on vintage tracks too, but I agree with you. I recently acquired LMU and I can see how its AI is more advanced and does a lot more - it's better. AC can't do multiclass.

But for short races, a car with a good ai.ini file and a track with great line, sidelines and hints.... still an absolute pleasure to race.

Third AI this month! I told you all I wasn't lazy. (Yes I am).

Anyway, this one has been badly needed for years - a rework of early Reboot's Cadwell Park.

From the post:

This Cadwell is a classic - and given how close later sim renditions are of this track to this one, no doubt it will more than stand the test of time. With Masscot's updates, it looks modern and performs excellently.

However, the stock AI has always been disappointing for as long as I've driven this track. The undulating esses and the hill chicane have always caused problems, but the killer is the final corner.

The fast lane hits the apex too hard and the right hand sideline doesn't compensate - meaning that each and every AI car I've tried hits the small hill/bump on the apex and flips cars over the barrier. Generally, it leads to 7 or 8 retirements in a 20 lap race - all of them in spectacular fashion.
With my rework, I sacrifice a few hundredths to slightly miss the apex and keep the fast lane clear of the hill - and compensate with a tighter sideline to essentially eliminate the issue.

Of course, this line is also much quicker - about ~1.4 seconds a lap faster in Fuzo's TCRs in comparison to stock, and about 1.1 a lap in small formula cars.

Few housekeeping notes - I did actually fall through the floor in Turn 2 once while testing, so perhaps there's a seam in there that may be worth looking for.

Secondly, I learned that the Guerilla GT4s really need a car AI expert to completely overhaul their .ini files. Each Guerilla GT4 failed miserably throughout the lap, mostly in sector 3, slamming into walls with reckless abandon. I tested more than a half-dozen other cars, from pretty much every car maker you can think of (Kunos, RSS, URD, VRC, Fuzo, Shaun Clarke) and none of them had any problems once the hints file was dialed in.

I went to the post to hopefully give them a nudge about it - but to comment, I have to pay into the Patreon. No thank you. So if anyone can get a hold of them, please consider passing on this info. It has to be said, though, I was not a fan of the pre-1.0 GT4s and how they drive - but the 1.0 update is a huge improvement (drove the Mustang and the McLaren specifically). If only I could race them solo...

Feedback welcome as always - don't hesitate to reach out. Cheers all.

Hey folks, is there a version of Circuit des Remparts for Assetto Corsa?
Hi, there is an Assetto Corsa version of Circuit des Remparts, a very good one created by J3DModding studio (link)
BUT... It's a professional studio who created the track in cooperation with the city (some sort of official 3D stuff).

They didn't share any links of it.
Some condition to have it (mentions they ask) : you have to pay for it and you have to ask the track officials to use it.

Frustrating, they did a amazing job to recreate the buildings, the track itself, paddock, etc...

Again sorry if i'm bothering you, but there is still the same problem with the liveries, i still get that executable, and non of those methods works

Just a question to the community here, is there anyone which it can work on the Kunos Monza to make it looks like more like nowadays? The 'vanilla' version now is too much outdated, if i may say

Kind help from car modelers, I have just started learning to fix various track effects, now I would like to learn how to fix cars according to my tastes, I noticed that there are some cars with splendid reflections, others with very few reflections on the bodywork or in any case that seem too "plastic", can anyone tell me which are and where the files responsible for the reflections on the cars are located?

Thanks 🤝

Happy to report that the 2025 BTCC cars (FSR, not really 2025, but liveries, right?) also enjoy your new AI.
10 laps, 18 runners, NO silly accidents or retirements. Great work!

Final update to 2005/2007 Season leaderboards.

Added:
Tyre manufacturer info
National flags for each driver (as per original broadcast)
Team information for each driver

Improved the graphics to match the era of grey/black/white look.

2005 and 2007 are season specific and are designed to work with my custom championships.

The third white, generic one works for any season, with any grid.

I added preview video to the original post and a video tutorial how to install the leaderboard. This is based on the same code that all leaderboards use, I have just adapted it.
