And that's after an extensive cleaning. Was well over 2 TB prior.

~2K tracks, ~2.3K cars.

i have the same and i am checking every car/track which i have riught now if i missed some content for it

[Quark67]

I made a quick update of La Vall Street Circuit Víctor Abad by Giga10:

• semaphore fix
• replaced marshals and track cranes by RMi (using TrackDecoration app by leBluem)
• replaced the 2D crowd with Crowds texture by Kniker97 (not perfect on grandstand)
• fixed the AI
• replaced the barrier textures with No banners and new asphalt by mikeblueberry
• fixed some shaders like trees and fences

Download Update

Updated:

• added RainFX
• added windows reflections & lights
• fixed tower controll transparency
• fixed balconies transparency
• fixed pits windows
• fixed street semaphores (light mesh separated from semaphore lights)
• jumbotrones now working
• improved GrassFX

re: all the same current crop of GT3/LMH cars from modders...

The only upside maybe is if someone does release a majority of them(or all of them) maybe I can actually try to race them without having to trying of BoP between different CSP physics implementations....

[Nuttyboy812]

That SD McLaren mod also needs a polygon count reduction, 2400k jesus wept it is heavy lol

That's what I'm saying, the body along is over 400k poly, which is more than the entire URD Glick and Toyota models combined. I'll give it a shake at some point but really I just know some rudimentary things to fix up models from skyrim modding, so I may not be able to do it.

Where are FSR and SDD fans?

Do those exist?

Regarding compression, it doesn't affect performance. I believe it increases CPU usage when loading as it decompresses things, but you're typically waiting on the disk anyway so ultimately it rarely matters.

[BigJim]

Tracks folder = 98 gb
Cars Folder = 106 gb

Must be I am missing a few cars/tracks compared to you guys.

[SVRS]

I was wondering why I couldn't fit AMS, AMS2, RF, RF2, EVO, LMU, ACC, RBR full, iRacing and all other sims to my hard drive. Then I realized that my AC installation folder alone takes friggin' 500 Gigs. I'm old enough to remember when big games took 10 floppies and 30 Megs.

I bought a new 4 TB drive and now we're talking again.

How big AC folders you guys have? I'm sure mine is on the smaller side because I've only kept the essentials.

6716 cars,797 Tracks. Unknowingly, the occupancy rate has reached this level, which is what's left after optimization.

[mrtomcat66]

Out of curiosity...does compressing an AC installation also (slightly) enhances performance? Or not (at all)?

Text directly from CM Compress files:

"CM searches for all models and textures (KN5 and DDS files) - these files can be compressed, often multiple times. There is no advantage to compressing PNGs or similar, as these file formats already include compression, and this will only slightly slow down the loading of AC.

I recommend using the best compression algorithm, LZX. Although this slightly increases the CPU load during the loading process, there is an advantage due to the reduced number of total files to be loaded.

None of this has any influence on the FPS, as AC does not dynamically reload files."

And what about ASR?

[RMi_wood]

CM compresses nothing.
CM leverages the already builtin Windows 10/11 compression utility for NTFS file systems

I've got a 4TB SSD just for the AC installation - currently 2.01TB used just for AC installation - 5678 cars, 1587 tracks, 262 championships...and I don't add everything, I quite choosy now...

Ive been Working on a car for the League I run and have ran into an issue on the blender side where the model seems to not want to show reflections correctly and other odd aspects. Does anyone know a work around for this? So far i have struck out with google. If you look at it you can see how the reflection is massively warped. The UVs are good tho and it shows no warp in blender.

In other news ive got old vegas with its 2000 roval layout ive been working on and just need to do cams for. Just ive been very busy with this.

[ninezeroniner]

Do those exist?

Only in our minds, as the sheer amount of skibidi content released for skibidi cars on OT.

I use and wholeheartedly recommend Compactor, which has been posted in this thread multiple times over the years.

Fantastic compression ratio, as my picture above shows - better than CM by quite a bit. Zero impact on compatibility or performance. I just run it every month or so on my cars and tracks folders. Works a treat.

if you have 6k+ cars....how many of them have you really driven extensively?

[StoffelWaffle]

@BruceD do you have a template for your awesome CART 1993 mod ? Trying to make John Paul Jr's T91/00 from scratch but it's kinda hard without a clean file to start from.

edit : didn't need one when you can do it yourself ! I eyeball'd it so a few inaccuracies here and there (couldn't quite decipher the logos beside EARL'S nor the logo on the front). Obvs for the T91/00 - Buick model

ISO didn't make any, but I'm currently making templates for someone else to do the 1991 season skins. It's probably not the best because I'm doing them in a hurry, but should be ok. The wings file is seperate to the body file. Includes wireframes and AO layers for road and oval versions.

LolaT91 Template

MediaFire is a simple to use free service that lets you put all your photos, documents, music, and video in a single place so you can access them anywhere and share them everywhere.

PS, been meaning to ask you if you would be interested in doing a 1992 season set, or helping with the 1991 set? I'm too snowed with other mod stuff to look at those but I think people would want them and I've got 1 person working on the 1991 cars soon.

It's not about the number of times... It's something you, mere muggles, can't understand, no matter how hard we Proud Hoarders try to explain it to you all...

lolz. I've seen you say this SO many times, I'm pretty sure at this point you have a Google alert and an auto-responder to handle it for you

[fleskebacon]

And what about ASR?

Do rather anonymous creators making really good mods, mostly for free, have fanboys? Or do people just happily drive around in their cars and shut up about it? Sounds strange.

I'd love to but come September I won't have much time to do stuff for AC, maybe I can manage some skins but not a full season sadly

Is there a listing somewhere that describes available variables for suits and helmets? How do I know that the suit is available in type 2? Is there a type 3 (or 63)? How do I discover what other gloves than <sparco_roadcars_rg3.1/red> are available? Does it vary for each driver? Help!

Ok, I just found a tutorial thing by Ben O'bro describing it... https://www.overtake.gg/threads/change-driver-suits-helmets-and-gloves.232527/
and of course in retrospect it's all logical... It's taking me a while to wrap my brain around drivers, suits, helmets etc. The VRC Alfa skins I made didn't have the correct suits when I used them on the non-csp Alfa. Turns out it was because the driver model was set different on the non-csp version...

[MaxSTDTDesign]

Hello!

IMPORTANT: you can use them for what ever you want, skins or mods. Up to you, only thing, just be so respectful and give me the credit as the author. thanks!

As we often need better wheels over at TomSim and as i really enjoy modeling rims, i decided to upload a set of 27 Rims, they are ready to CSP swap. AO's for each wheel included

Almost all of them are build with centerlock, just a few have 5 Lugs, some models are older some are just done a few days back, so quality can vary a bit

Mine is 250 GB - mostly compressed. 712 cars + 68 tracks. I'm quite picky, and I immediately delete skins that I don't really like righ after installing. Oh, and when I’m bored, I shrink down some ridiculously large skins and textures.

Has somebody registered this post yet? Citta di Aria was shared with that google link. Now we need some volunteers in helping to complete the track and give some proper treatment...

[sab001]

Is there a way to change a driver model with an ext_config? Skin.ini doesn't seem to do that. The VRC Alfa has the model set to driver_80 in driver3d.ini, I want it set to driver_1998. I know I could just distribute a replacement data.acd, but that seems rude in changing the settings for all other skins...

[Quark67]

Years ago I found these instructions about driver model.

Install the Driver_60.kn5 model in your Assetto Corsa\Content\Driver folder.

Open Notepad and enter the following:

[DRIVER3D_MODEL]
NAME=driver_60
POSITION=0.0,0.0,0.0

Where driver_60 is the name of the model you want to use as listed in Content Manager.
Then save the file as ext_config.ini into the folder of the skin you want it to effect.

If you want it to effect all drivers of a car, regardless of which skin they have, you can save it with the car name into \Documents\Assetto Corsa\cfg\extension\cars.

Please be aware that the new driver will not show up in the CM Showroom, but he will be there when you race.

If you want to replace the driver for all skins of the car, and you want the driver to show up in the showroom as well:

In the car folder, open the Data folder.
If the car does not have a data folder, you will have to unpack those files by putting Content Manager into developer mode.
Paste the driver3d.ini file here, and click yes to overwrite/replace the file that is already there.

!!! IMPORTANT FOR ALL THE WIN11 USERS !!!

Maybe you already aware of it, but BE CAREFUL with OS Updates. With latest Win11 update with specific drives you can have crashes, slowdowns, and even drives disappearing from the system

Check this out and stay WINDOWS-SAFE
