Hi guys, just a question: Do you know if there´s a mod close to this? An off-road Volkswagen Bug or Baja Bug.
Ok maybe its too generalized. At least the whole DTM 1989 pack, whoch i liked before is no more driveable with my Fanatec. In fact i did not drive his other cars since the wheel change..Surprised to hear that. Never had issues with my Simucube DD wheel when driving Tommy's cars
Only thing i dislike about ALL of the DTM he put out are the "injection mold marks" (?) he put on EVERY ONE OF THEM!!
See actual 1984 635CSi DTM:
I know. It can pretty much be solved by editing car.ini and setting STEER_ASSIST=1 and FFMULT=1. Don't know why he uses odd values for these, probably as you say, to make it feel ok on weaker wheels.Cool thing BUT at least in my case his cars become useless as soon i moved to a direct drive wheel. The physics/ffb are just broken. It seems he addapts the physics to older wheels. Earlier with a T300 everything was ok. It´s the one and only case where a DD wheel works that weird
As said, i'm pretty sure is a not-properly-saved .dds file leaved for mistake in the folder. Can you DM me the source of that particular car so i can see (if is possible to find and download it) have the same issue on my side too? Anyway, i'm pretty sure about what i said above
As far as I can see, those are both valid DDS files. The guy with the ~ added is a bit larger and has been saved in a DXGI format not supported by GIMP. After a rename, it does however open correctly in Paint.NET which has wider support for DXGI formats. Both 4k (in the case of f85_main_aomp.dds). The DDS~ files are date-stamped 2022 and the DDS are 2024. My guess is, recent updates were "let's do this in a compatible format" or "I'm using GIMP now, so lets redo these".
This fixes nothing?Opel Calibra small fix
I have rendered the internal windows and everything should now be fine, just overwrite the kn5 file with the new one

Also three rather nice BTCC '89 cars, all of which unfortunately suffer from bad sunlight entry into the cockpit around object joints and seams.

Drive into low sun (after raising ksDiffuse on the internal glass to 0.4, so it can actually be seen) and it's obvious that the dirty glass texture is still mirrored down the middle of the windscreen and the side windows are still just frosted glass.
Third time lucky and at the risk of repeating myself once again: the texture needs remapping.

Thanks for the correction, i had another chap correct me on the discusasion page of the skin. I literally had NOOOOOOOOO idea that was an "S" looooooooooolHello, it's not your fault, but the German beer brand is called “HASSERÖDER”. It uses the “broken Gothic” font from the 1930s, which makes S look like L.

Not sure if I know what you mean? Is it the "made by tommy" emblems on the dashboard you mean? If so, they can easily be skinned away.

If i succed i get the BMW. Do someone know if his BTCC VW Golf fits preformance wise vs his 89s`cars?
Yes! This, among other things, are details that kind of holds Tommy's mods back. Which is a shame, because the models themselves are pretty good. And a shame that he doesn't take the time to lift his cars from decent to excellent. Not really a fan of having to tinker with paymods to make them work, but I've always made an exception for Tommy. Because he makes the cars I love, that nobody else makes. Also three rather nice BTCC '89 cars, all of which unfortunately suffer from bad sunlight entry into the cockpit around object joints and seams.
Easy fix (albeit a shame that modders often don't check this themselves), just add these to the end of the relevant configs:
Sierra RS500:
Code:;stop sun getting places it shouldn't [SHADER_REPLACEMENT_...] ACTIVE = 1 MATERIALS = RS500_EXT_PAINT, RS500_BLACK_PLASTIC, RS500_BLACK CAST_SHADOWS = 1 DOUBLE_FACE_SHADOW_BIASED = 1
Golf GTI:
Code:;stop sun getting places it shouldn't [SHADER_REPLACEMENT_...] ACTIVE = 1 MATERIALS = GTI_EXT_PAINT, GTI_BLACK_PLASTIC, GTI_BLACK CAST_SHADOWS = 1 DOUBLE_FACE_SHADOW_BIASED = 1
Astra GTE:
Code:;stop sun getting places it shouldn't [SHADER_REPLACEMENT_...] ACTIVE = 1 MATERIALS = GTE_EXT_PAINT, GTE_BLACK, GTE_BLRUBBER CAST_SHADOWS = 1 DOUBLE_FACE_SHADOW_BIASED = 1
Hard to tell from the pics - fixed?
Unfortunately as soon i change the data (with AC Tuner) no CM user here, the car (tested on Supra) is kind falling through the track.I think they are matched, but haven't really tested. The Kadett GSi is the rotten apple in the pack, in my opinion. It's borderline undrivable because of a bad rear suspension. I have tinkered with a more decent one, but I'm no engineer, so it's all a load of guesswork. But I have managed to make a new suspension.ini for it that feels pretty good.

Ah, the hydraulic jacks. They are present on the real cars as well, but I agree - they do stick out more than they should, and they aren't very refined.
Havent seen any 80's DTm with that...Ah, the hydraulic jacks. They are present on the real cars as well, but I agree - they do stick out more than they should, and they aren't very refined.
Great job as always guys . The car looks and feels great . The only thing i would say is that the engine sound is a bit off . In 2000 the northstar V8 had much more of an old school pushrod V8 sound . The 2001 and 2002 cars sounded much closer to the Audi R8 . I'll leave some videos for you to check out ,
There is a "alternative physic's" upload on RD for Tommy's BTCC Astra by the way. Just incase anyone missed it. I have no idea if it is good or not i just downloaded it for when i make a purchase over at Tommy's website.I think they are matched, but haven't really tested. Any chances you can improve the ground mesh by avoiding that the "mickey lake" and "infield" meshes overlap themselves with the "2GRASS" meshes causing (for CSP users) grass spawning everywhere? Thanks anyway for your work, appreciated.Walt Disney World Speedway 1.0 Release

Neither have I, but I was pretty sure I did, until just now... Maybe I dreamt of it. Or saw it on newer restomod cars.Havent seen any 80's DTm with that...
Warning: That's a real hackjob and probably makes them way too grippy in the rear, but at least it made the cars driveable for me. I'm on it again now, trying to make them a bit better. They actually had swappable anti-roll bars, but very limited possibilities to adjust toe and camber. There is a "alternative physic's" upload on RD for Tommy's BTCC Astra by the way. oi oiiiiiii!! i just unzipped the physic's for Tommy's BTCC astra and its yooooooooooou @fleskebacon sorry i did not realise it was you
I just purchased the BTCC Astra and lets put it this way, i'm glad there was alternative physics for this thing because you are correct the back end is a bloody pendulum and close to unusable. What you done has made it 100x betterNeither have I, but I was pretty sure I did, until just now... Maybe I dreamt of it. Or saw it on newer restomod cars.

The problem, in my opinion, is Tommy's rather strange decision to use a live rear axle for these cars, which he has also equipped the BTCC Golf with. I'm by no means an expert, but using a dwb setup seems to be a better choice.
The Golf drives nicely for me, but the GTE and even more the GSi are so loose in the rear that it's borderline impossible. And not fun. A fwd car shouldn't really be that tail happy at all, unless something is really wrong.
The Golf is very stable, almost boring...I just purchased the BTCC Astra and lets put it this way, i'm glad there was alternative physics for this thing because you are correct the back end is a bloody pendulum and close to unusable. What you done has made it 100x better
so the Golf is ok? i have not got it yet as i was concerned it would be like the Astra but i will purchase thast aswell
a stark difference to what the Astra was thenThe Golf is very stable, almost boring...![]()
And pretty much all of Tommy's cars suffer from weird STEER_ASSIST and FFMULT values in car.ini. STEER_ASSIST needs to be 1.0, and FFMULT usually somewhere in the 0.75-1.25 range, depending on preference and car.a stark difference to what the Astra was then. Excellent i shall purchase that gooooooof now thanks for the information
yepHard to tell from the pics - fixed?
If you update the full car, please include all the skins released thus far too.
Please also include the correct human-speed shifter hand from the drive3d.ini I posted with the shift animation.

could you remind us of where to find that setting? It's always winter for me at Portimao and Crystal Palace, but I don't know which box to tick or where to find it. Thanks in advance! For winter issue, simply you have setup wrong the seasonal adjustment in CM (is a common issue that hundreds of users had).
On bahrain no idea, probably you have a wrong/bad updated config or something that have compromised the package causing that issue.
