!!! BMW E21 PACK PUBLIC RELEASE !!!

Hi guys! I searched for years a BMW E21 on Assetto Corsa, but I never find any model of this car.
So, some weeks ago, thanks to the work of ATS who released his own tuned version of this car, I started to work to made a stock version of a 323i, one of the most iconic BMW ever. But thinking that was not enough, I decided to create a complete pack of the first generation of the BMW 3 Series!

In this pack you will find 2 stock cars: BMW 316 (90hp) and BMW 323i (143hp), and 2 Alpina versions: Alpina B6 2.8 (200hp) and Alpina C1 2.3/1 (170 hp).

What I have done is some modifications on 3D model (twin headlights that was missed on the base model, exhaust, rims, plates, rear spoiler on both Alpina, badges and front grill), and some CSP adjustments. And of course I tried to recreate the original specs performance of each engines.

I'm not a modder, so maybe the work could be not so perfect, and it's possible that you may find some errors, or something wrong, but I hope you will appreciate the effort of having created something that was missing in Assetto Corsa until now.

Oh they're also doing the Caddy LMDh, now that's cool cuz the URD one kinda sucks.

I don't know RSS's or URD's is better or worse between the 2. I think I like VRC's the best. URD's seems raceable against the VRCs and RSSs are just too slow. Honestly though it would be nice to have all of them from the same place so they are at least balanced. Between how all the cars are using CSP physics their own ways and implementing the hybrid strat differently and have different idea of where the performance balance is, its hard to use them all in a grid.

Kunos cars are usually top notch but who else thinks Kunos RUF Yellowbird difficulty is "overdone"? It's almost like driving on oil with that car hehe. And I'm from Finland who raced his whole youth on ice with rear wheel cars like Escort Mark II. Or maybe I just have to find some decent settings for that car?

Brake earlier!! This car lacks proper brake and tend to snap oversteer a little...

Glad to see the 2024 update for Phillip Island.
However, your 2024 version seems to be based on v1.0.1.

I agree. That doesn't feel like an actual representation of physics. Or the physics can be accurate in theory but they seem to be way overdone.

But at least that's a challenging car to drive.

It is not, actually. I used a really old Impreza 22b from Assettopedia as a basis, then applied the bodykit which I ported from a TDU mod. The wheels came from an other existing mod of AC, along with the brakes. I have included credits for whatever I've used in the mod's description. Everything else is just edited, not scratch made. Clearly it wasn't just a port, but it cost me some useful hours to make everything match to some point.

They only enforce it if people post proof of it being an port, In this case. Both the standard Subaru model is Forza and so is the body kit so it would just be an Forza port lol.

Was just about to say, the Simhub overlay (https://www.overtake.gg/downloads/formula-1-1988-overlays-preview.62659/) uses VCR_OSD_MONO and VHS BSR - they are both included in the download (you can extract the Simhub file with 7zip)

Having a bad week. First my wheel, now it seems my video card died. I stepped away from my rig for a minute and when I turned around my monitor was giving me the no signal message. Swapped in an old 1660 I had lying around and everything was fine. I guess my 3060ti died. Odd thing is, I got no warnings that it was going bad. Five minutes before that I was racing without issues.

Anywhoo, since I have to get a new card, should I stick with Nvidia or think about moving to an AMD card? Haven't owned one in years so I was wondering if they are actually better than Nvidia these days.

AMD are cheaper and tend to have more VRAM than NVIDIA cards (which is good for now but also into the future when games require even more memory than the top ones currently do).
Intel have their 2nd gen cards coming soon...hopefully they have worked on driver support for longer than they did with the 1st gen cards as their pricing is far more consumer friendly that team red and green.

before change it, try to do a clean uninstall OF ALL THE DRIVERS in safe mode with the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU), then, reinstall the latest (or the one that were stable and see if the GPU come back to life. If not, you have to say goodbye to it probably. For sure AMD and NVIDIA have their own pro and cons, so is not a easy choice if not defined only by the budget
