model seems decent, even better than MMG F2008, despite lower poly count.

I checked the F2007 but it is way too similar to VRC first F2007 to be worth it, and the F248 is inferior to the CTDP F248

if any modder wants a car they seek in TDFRL, hit me up in dm

EDIT : I possibly can do tracks
Finally, someone is working on it! Back in the day, I really wanted to play it, but the controls were so terrible that I didn’t know what to do with it.
I suppose the tracks can be converted easily as well, right?
Are the car sound files also available and accessible? Many years ago I once looked through the files, but I couldn’t find the sounds anywhere.

Honestly, it's **** at first, but after playing need for speed shift 2, and aquiring a T300, the controls aren't as terrible, and it's even fun. It's just very.........Adrenaline, like you're always in tension, always making correction at each turns as if you were driving a soap. but it is fun.

The tracks can be converted yes but same as the car, the annoyance comes from exporting this from 3DSmax to Blender cuz I have no skills in 3DS max, the scale is wrong when exporting in fbx, I have to import in blender at 39.5 scale, here's an example of old spa

The sounds, are in .fev/.fsb file, iirc there's a need for speed shift audio extractor that can extract the .fsb files, the formula 1 engine sound are not that good, although the 88 ferrari I might try converting that engine sound.

Just found out this was a thing

Apparently during the Monterey Motorsports Reunion, they now run a "Corkscrew Hill Climb" event. Starts at the start/finish and runs reverse up through the corkscrew. This video shows a full lap

Anyone know if there is anything like that out there for the Kunos Laguna Seca track, or if not, is that something that would be hard to make for someone with no track modding expoerience (that someone being me  )?

quick question

Model replacement csp feature also work for AI? Like if there's a ext_config.ini for a skin and the AI uses that skin, it also change the car parts mentioned in the ext_config.ini?

100% correct, so long as its in the skin folder and the .kn5 is present in there as well, it will change the model accordingly.

This 'Better Tire Sounds' app is worth checking out if (like me) it completely slipped under your radar.

The following sounds are replaced by this app:
Skidding/sliding
Curb rumble
Grass roll/skid
Sand roll/skid
Asphalt roll/skid
Brake squeal
Collision sounds

Additionally, the app adds the following effects:
Suspension travel/rattle

Kind of ignored it until you tried it.
I lowered the volume on curb and skid then made it global. Works great.
Thanks for the recommend

Nice improvement, aren't they?
With RD/Overtake currently doing everything they can to dissuade us from visiting their commercial carpet-bomb showcase, this is a call to arms for all members here to post any good mods they happen to spot over there... that's if you can find any in amongst all the pop-ups and adverts, of course.

A great improvement. This along with Alternative FFB extended, has raised the game to a new level especially in VR.
As for the RD/Overtake issue I have zero pop up or advert problems. None at all.
I use add block but so it seems do others.
Is it because I am a premium member maybe?
I race online with them so have to be.
I guess it is the reason as my downloads are very quick and I often hear how slow it is.

It's not about you agreeing or disagreeing. Or even a matter of opinion.

48.300 Volvos on Finnish (population of only 5.5 million) roads alone TODAY that have 300.000-800.000 kilometers on the clock.

We have official yearly inspection statistics of it. There aren't any other car brands with so many high mileage examples on our roads today. We (and the Swedes) have been familiar with these cars for 50 years.

Our Web marketplace is full of 600K driven Volvos. OLD Volvos. Nobody knows how those new Chinese Volvos will last.
It is great to hear they last over there, here in Australia, drivers are not known to keep high mileage cars. most over 300,000km in second hand market (every brand) are usually in poor condition, but most people who buy new cars, do not keep a new car for over 200,000km and get lazy with servicing after warrenty period expires. That said, i havent noticed volvos being much better mechanically than other brands even in warrenty period, i used to scour auctions, and saw a few s40 and s60s with the same noisy top end as in my s80, under 150,000km mark. i dont know the reason for that, might just be me coming across bad examples... and it might just be the swedes pride themselves with their native cars and take better care. I did say i love volvos, they are unique and always ahead with safety. My dads 244 was my favourite (and a 242 bertone i nearly bought, but didnt have enough cash), i remember a car was parked in front of us on an uphill slope (cant remember the car, as i was a kid), the driver must have left it in neutral without handbrake on. it started rolling back, picking up speed... it impacted the volvos huge bumper and got a dent in it's body. my dad got out, noticed zero damage on the volvo, so drove off without waiting for the other driver to return. Here in Australia, our local car industry died several years ago, and almost all of our local car industry has been wiped out with most vehicles over 300,000km sold odf to scrap metal, but there is a big scene for classic and modified Aussie cars, which requires a different driver, service and car than most daily aussie drivers.

Yeah, ads are mostly fed to us non-Premium mouth- breathing plebs. I wasn't comfortable with being blackmailed into paying to have an acceptable interaction (YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime and others are also guilty of gimping your experience unless you pony up more cash) so I didn't renew mine. I'll just visit a lot less and wait forever for throttled downloads, and spend the savings on hookers and coke.

Yooooooooooooooooooooooooo Nobody told me renault had an official R26 in sketchfab

Don't show these to HSS otherwise they're gonna end up as paid 'original' model, maybe 10 bucks each lol

One big difference is that we have a lot of diesels here. Those last a long time You can ask any car mechanic in Sweden and Finland which is the best engine and most likely they'll say Volvo D5. I mean that engine is belt driven but if you take care of the belt it's indestructible. Old VW 1.9 TDI was very good too. 2000's Audi/VW petrol engines were a disaster though. In the US they're always praising Toyota and Lexus and they're right. Very reliable. But Volvo diesels can take even more abuse.

It's the exact same story with Mercedes diesels. Take OM651 or OM654 diesel engine and they will last a long time as long as you lower the oil change interval from manufacturer recomendations (20K kilometers) to more reasonable 10-15K. In the US they have barely diesels at all. Those Merc diesel engines are very reliable but the parts cost a fortune.

Go hybrid and you'll sign yourself to expensive issues. Sure they'll last 150K. But the risk grows exponentially with those when the mileages grow. Oils today are so good that petrol/diesel engines can last hundreds of thousands of kilometers but hybrid is simply one extra thing that can break. New Porsche Cayenne hybrid engine can cost 30K. Insanity.

Cars today are so full of expensive electronics like start/stop systems, lane change guards, automatic parking, etc. Just imagine how much it costs to change those big touch screens. You have to tear apart the whole dash and when they have got rid of the buttons and everything is operated in the touch screen you can't even use the car if it fails. And the LED headlights... one Merc headlight can cost 2K. In the old cars you just changed the bulb, etc.

Those are the mostly useless gimmicks and people have realized it. Many EV's and hybrids are sitting unsold at the moment (in the US and EU). That's why old Volvos and Toyotas have increased their prices in our car market. They go on forever with relatively small maintenance. If 80's and 90's was the golden age of sports cars, 2001-2012'ish was the golden age of normal, everyday cars. Most of them are galvanized steel and relatively simple (tech wise).

Cheers. And sorry OT.
