There are three versions of AC:

• Standard (?), the one everyone can buy on Steam;
• Commercial, which can be used for commercial uses, but mods/track skins are prohibited;
• Pro, which is the same as the Commercial, but car/track customization is allowed (Ferrari race cars are not included and cannot be used).

There are no technical differences between the three versions, so everything that works on the Standard is compatible with the Pro; the physics are the same; I think the Pro comes with the data.acd already unpacked, but a part from that there are no differences.

Yeah but its not the standard AC, its a special version that they customise, as Max says. Its like the old days when teams ran rF1 as a base but there was a special version that racing teams could by and then tweak to what they wanted. They have less intense graphics which means the processing power is focused on physics, which is what they need.

No, he uses the standard AC, he helped RSS developing their publicly available Formula Hybrid Alpine and he uses it.

They are in direct contact with the developers of the mod so they have custom physics.

Same physics available on V3 of the car. The car got updated based on their feedback.

You can send me anything you've got. I'm always looking for things to use that might make the track better. Just curious though, we are talking about the Fenryr version, correct? Reason I ask is that some of the layouts already have camera_facing files. I think the Nords layout is the only one without them. I can't test them though because only about 3 of the 14 layouts actually load for me. The other ones get stuck loading the ai spline. Never had a track give me ai spline loading issues before. Not sure what mnakes this one different.

Hi Joe, yes, the Fenyr version (and I think there are some Kunos layouts in there too)! 😉
The camera facings, even though they're already there, I always redo them all on the tracks I like, following my tastes and using better textures from the crowd. Let me know what you're interested in and I'll pass it on to you. Maybe PM me because I haven't been able to be very active on the PC lately. 😓

Tested and the drive feeling is great, one observation is that you can floor it and doesn’t step out at all?
but maybe that’s a a good thing? have to test some more if its a set up thingy

It also shipped with a "spectator/announcer" car (basically a car you cant see). Car data.acd are already unpacked etc. Also it appears that all DLC and developmment versions of some tracks was also included.

I'm assuming all these versions were not available to the general public. It's funny, I've been around this game since 2018 and this is the first I ever heard of different AC versions.

They were for development to race teams and sim-racing centers and quite expensive... However it was cheaper than being a "Race Room" affillate after Henrik Roos nearly tripled the price for a yearly deal.

Max and Gabi use RSS because ties with Team Redlines. RSS have been the standard F1 mod until VRC came to the scene in 2023 with their VRC FA2023. Of course it's difficult to change that view to people but now it's pretty obvious which car is better but some people just take the pill of 'mAx tRiEd iT' 😅😅 Don't treat the people like they're idiots...

It has ignition and engine start function.

"Extra C" is ignition.
"Extra D" is Engine start.

Max says its the assetto you can buy on steam and they modify certain files .

Surely this is what we all have, right? AC (from Steam) + CSP (modified files). With the variation that their feedback makes its way into the RSS mods. Seems the most likely scenario.

showooms have no "physical mesh", car is positioned by absolute X,Y,Z of the showroom itself.
It appears that the showroom model is possibly tilted in relation to X,Y,Z (or the car is b0rked)
Using a Kunos car would verify which is at fault.

im pretty shure, when F40 were launched, similar statements where made by many.

These keybinds doesn't work unfortunately. Only + and - on the numpad work for increasing/decreasing FFB.
Any idea why the keybinds on my wheel doesn't work for this?

yes, but Enzo is different its more of unique design project. F series are innovative high downforce fast cars. I guess big downforce is to blame for blocky looks. But im shure this will age like fine wine. Look at F40 now.

McLaren uses VRC's stuff for their simulator, and has even teamed up with McLaren for their MTC thing so the whole couch surfing thing is completely invalidated lol.

Is your spectator car just an "empty" Abarth 595 or something different? I don't remember whether the one we use was made by us or included with AC Pro.

And at that stage of the project, the car on the sim was just a slightly modified VRC Alpha, which Norris and Piastri liked anyway (from what I've heard).

I have a weird question. On the Fenryr Nurburgring track (any layout), do you guys see bushes around the terrain? I just realized that i'm not seeing any despite there being a reference to the nords_bushes.kn5 file in the models listing. Not sure what's up with that and wanted to see if it was just me.

EDIT: I figured out why. The bushes are marked as a ksGrass shader and apparently that makes them not show up for me. Maybe it's a problem with the older CSP version I use. I changed the shader type to ksPerPixelAT and they show fine. Funny thing is, I think I like the way the track looks better without them.

McLaren uses Racing Unleashed Simulators, which use VRC cars. McLaren is in no way collaborating with VRC directly.

Well, a clear sign that AC will still have life for many years to come, despite any AC Rally or Evo versions that may appear.

It might sound unbelievable, but what Max said is going to take this 11 years old game even higher than it already was.
