Apparantly the consensus is that my physics for the 2006 mod is still behind TheRaceProject as they deem it to be more "complex" and have more depth. Can someone who have driven both give me a more detailed explanation of how mine should be improved?
TRP sucks completely, not worth playing any of their mods, huge waste of money also. Yours is better. They have a weird new to f1 fans base it seems, like verstappen and Norris fanboys... they never even watched the 1998 to 2013 era, and never played Grand Prix 4 and its 2006 era modded cars. I think they base their oppinions on how more modern f1 cars feel. you can find their mods on reddit and delete straight after testing, terriblly huge file sizes, absolutely pointless 8k textures.. blah blah

...are people just counting the number of tabs on the setup menu and comparing them?

I much prefer the driving experience of your cars. Past TRP cars I've driven often feel too loose - and the AI can't run together without crashing.

If anything, some of your cars might feel a bit tight to me, which may be remedied by lowering the KPI angle on the rear suspension. I believe lowering this a bit will make the car feel a bit more nimble and light through the steering wheel, which may necessitate an adjustment to the FFB in car.ini.

EDIT: Caster plays a bit of a role in this, too.

The Cape Ring track mod, while still behind a paid alpha, is shaping off quite nicely :)

I'll use this post to also ask this: I've been getting some issues with the AI going to the pits right after one lap with the switch to CSP 0.3. Funnily enough it seems that disabling New AI Behavior fixes it, is there something I should tweak in the settings to fix this issue? It doesn't seem to be track nor car dependant.

Thanks to anyone willing to help me out ;)

Your stuff is fine, The Real steal Project fanbois are just a bunch new gen users that thing every F1 car is on rails like TRstealProject stuff are.

What, you don't like 10yo models with 8k textures driving as if they were on rails ? Then you don't know **** about modding. After all they have a yuuuge fanbase and they know better than us.

Yes it’s strange. I’m on Pimax Light 0.2.12 runs great.
I can't get OpenComposite to work with AC at all since the last Pimax Play update. I'm also on Crystal Light. On the previous version, CSP 0.2.12 was working, but not 0.3.xx. Now, nothing works, except SteamVR, which runs good enough, but OpenComposite is much easier and more efficient. When it works..

Much appreciate! Are there any skins suitable for these cars or just the Batman one?
Until someone makes skins then they'll be batman's. Though the PMR cars you can just download the PMR liveries of their website and re-name the livery file and it should work on the AC variant without issues.

Didn't include any of the PMR base liveries as we find them ugly looking, and none of us like fictional liveries.

Ok, but that seems a little more complicated than that. Anyway, maybe someone will eventually do something about it! Thanks again.

What do you mean? Copying skins over isn't that complicated, Making them is a bit more , None of us are really good at making liveries so yeah, But i'm sure liveries will come out eventually as soon as more people are aware of them.

That’s interesting because I couldn’t get 0.3.??? versions working before the latest Pimax 2.0 update. Now they work but performance is awfull. I guess I will have to go back to the last Pimax update before latest to get 0.2.12 to work.

Hi Peter, thanks for taking the time to reply!

I tried clearing the VAO patches and doing a reinstall like you suggested, but unfortunately, the black grass is still stubbornly holding on. I really appreciate the pointers, though. I'm going to spend some time tweaking my CSP/Pure settings one by one to see if I can isolate exactly which setting is the culprit.

I'll post an update here if I manage to track it down so it helps anyone else who runs into this. Thanks again for the incredible work on Pure!

thanks, gathered more reviews, physics won't be changed much but i'll take your hindsight into account.

Delete any track skins
Thanks for the suggestion! I actually don't use any track skins for Redbull Ring, but I finally figured out what the culprit was... and it's entirely my fault! 😂

UPDATE: I decided to disable CSP completely just to test, and the black grass was still there. It turns out this wasn't a CSP, Pure, or VAO issue at all. My base track files for Red Bull Ring were just corrupted/glitched. A quick reinstall of the base track may fix the grass entirely. My bad for jumping the gun on blaming the settings, but thanks everyone for the help!

Help: Black Grass Bug on Red Bull Ring

Hey guys, is anyone else getting this weird black grass texture bug on the Red Bull Ring? (See 1st Attached Image)

It's only happening on this specific track for me. I'm on the latest CSP. I already tried deleting the track's extension folder to reset the config, but it didn't fix it.

Does anyone know if this is a VAO patch issue, or if there's a specific line in the settings I need to disable? Any help is appreciated!
I also have the same issue. Unfortunately, I have not found a fix.

EDIT: Haven't tried GTV's suggestion to delete track skins yet, but I will give that a shot next time I'm driving the Red Bull Ring.

Anyone tried this yet? Looks pretty good for those of us with no 3D skills but lots of ideas!

https://trecorsa.com/

Tried it yesterday. A bit limited on the free plan of course, but yes getting a track into the game is very quick compared to Blender. The usage is a bit frustrating, once you select a tool you are locked into whatever zoom level or direction you are facing, you have to deselect the tool and move around and go back into the tool to carry on. I'm not a track maker so I can't say how much easier it is to do a real track with this, but this did seem quick and have potential.

People attempting to make liveries for these cars, I salute you. Cuz no way in hell I'm gonna try when the mapping is all over the ****ing place lmao. Even throwing the simple pre-season livery is headache inducing.

Reflection on car but it is not showroom issue but lastest csp and happens during gameplay too.
Hi, yes same problem for me, problem with SSLR with Hi-Z(New) option , with High (old) or Simple (New) the problem disappear.
The info has already been reported on the AC Custom Shaders discord. ;)

Recommend looking into substance painter for stuff like this, The Models aren't encrypted so you shouldn't have any issues making it work with that software.

we have a dedicated AC VR thread

That looks cool, it reminds me of Cities: Skylines the way the track is created.
Now the question is, how do we get decent AI on these tracks?
Yeah having played around with the free plan it puts me off rather than makes me want to buy the full one. I mean i can make a track in blender anyway, I downloaded some tracks from the website and the picture of one of them loks ace, but in 3Dsimd its nothing like the picture which is a red flag.
The problem with these things is you can say get a trakc into AC in 10 mins, but you can also with blender. Its just that if you want a good well done track it can take hours or days.
