Definite "LeMans" inspiration, which makes sense given AM's past history. It also makes sense from a marketing perspective, since it's (that is, GT racing in particular is) somewhat en vogue amongst the gaming community at the moment. Even the FIA know this...

It does have definite hints of the DP215 in the shape of the headlight intakes etc.

Think it would look nice shaped kinda like the Nardo concept (as Apexpredator says)

This isn't the first time Aston Martin has made a DP car, below is the DP215, the last in a series of three Le Mans cars used from 1962-1964. Surprised nobody mentioned it yet

bugger, I've been writing this, (and rewriting it, and deleting bits, and having a drink) for an hour! And now I'm tree'd. :(

This VGT will most likely be a modern reinterpretation of this car (or at least an idea of what a hypothetical future Aston Martin at Le Mans would look like) And I'm pretty sure it will be classified as a racing car, like every other VGT so far besides the first Mercedes. I was expecting a huge, slick, V12 cruise missile but it seems, unexpectedly, that Aston Martin has other plans.

Then again, there's never been an ugly Aston Martin (no such thing as a Cygnet lalalalala) so I'm still excited for this one. I'm really digging the transparent engine cover.

Ohhh nice!! I promise not to make any speculation about when we'll actually get the car.. :) .. :) .. :scared: Maybe we'll get it Friday???? Woohoo! Can't help myself!! :D

Haha, sorry about that!

I kinda wish it had been more 'classic' in it's styling like the DP215 as that is one sexy car.

It says unveiled on the 27th, it won't be released until July at the earliest, same with the Nissan VGT

That's okay, I was just too slow, I had forgotten what I was writing and left to do something else.

Well, the LEDs and sharp lines give off an aggressively ultra-modern look, but there's still hope yet! We've only seen ~10% of the car, perhaps the other 90% is smooth and stylish.

I'm not... hoping a great thing to be honest. It looks like a bubble car and that front angle it's not what I call brilliant

By the look of the cars and also the first sketch in GT6, maybe its a possible next DB9 or One-77.

I doubt it'll be something like that, it looks mid-engine by the sketch and the teasers we already saw, so most likely won't be nothing like any modern Aston, might be a supercar/hypercar that would theoretically compete with the 3 hybrid hypercars of today, or just a road-going lmp based car. Just one and a half day til the reveal, maybe we will get another teaser today or tomorrow so we can have a better perception of how it looks like.

Yeah. Aston Martin didnt produce mid-engine car since its been founded.
The closest thing is the 70's "radical" Bulldog and 2015 DBC concept thats not even made yet.

About the first VGT sketch:

That infact is NOT the DBC. Its actually a render of the new concept AM Bulldog GT by HBH Design Firm, not directly related to AM. Oh yeah its mid-engined too. Any thoughts?

Regards of 70's Bulldog, thats the car Aston Martin is based on. In fact, the 70's car is codenamed DP-K9, in reference to Doctor Who for its Radical Design. And now, with its Codename DP-100, is referenced to the 100th anniversary of Aston Martin.

If you wondered how fast this thing goes, then for reference we look back again to the '70s. As quote by Motor authority article:

(See. History always thought me something)

@@@@ doing 191mph in that looks like it built with lift not downforce

Nice find, well the VGT has two things in common, mid-engine (it seems to be like this) and the lights, maybe a modern interpretation of the Bulldog.
