Australian release date broken - EB Games started selling on 24th November

Just got my copy from JB HI FI Chadstone shopping centre installing as I type. Cannot believe this is happening, have fun everyone.

I received a call from eb games this afternoon confirming the game is ready to be picked up @ 9am tomorrow morning. I knew this in advance but I'm glad there doing there job properly. It's just a shame i could not get any leeway to pick it up earlier, i had to at least try.

I got bfbc2 early from a broken street date. I'm really, -->REALLY!!<-- unhappy with my local EB Games 👎

I asked the lady at EB downtown Auckland if there is going to be a midnight launch and she confirms there will be one at St Lukes Westfield shopping centre.

I'm in Wellington, so that doesn't help much. My local EB said they wouldn't be doing a midnight launch, which would have been the only viable excuse for picking up GT5 from there.

Oh well, hope Mightyape comes through as usual. 👍
 
I even tried walking into target an older lady, who had no idea what day it was let alone the release date of GT5 was, I went in there and said I can't see GT5 around, it was released today, is there any chance you can find it for me :)

but no go she said we haven't received it yet, or we haven't gone through all of our orders today. she didn't seem to rushed in getting it out.
 
I tried to get mine early at EB Browns Plains QLD, They told me they weren't going to have it in store until Thursday. I'm hoping that was ********, I don't fancy waiting around for a truck all morning.

EB North Lakes QLD wouldnt sell mine :(, i searched 5 shops that would sell the game and no luck trying to get it early. 8am tomorrow i can pick it up, its going to be hard to sleep tonight knowing the rest of the world is playing it.

tried getting my CE early from my local game shop today, nope. i asked, how much to get it right now? he smiled and said 20,000... i laughed, pulled out my unlimited credit card and said swipe away. he told me to go away :( so now im waiting fr midnight so i can finally gt it!

Your state was selling GT5 early. You must have been there before 1pm or your clerk is a total knob.
 
I went around everywhere today, BIG W, Target, JB, EB Games, GAME... Then at around 5pm I was at home, and remembered that the Melbourne EB Games on Swanston Street closes late. So I gave them a call, and they said they had just begun selling copies! I live in Craigieburn, so I "stayed within the speed limits" on the freeway to get there in time! Massive success!!

I've installed the game, the introduction was just amazing :( The guy over at EB said they had just gotten a phone call telling them to begin selling it!

Some of you guys should try heading down to 24 Hour K-Mart stores! I'm sure they'll sell it to you!

Goodluck, and its finally here :) It's worth the hype.

EDIT: Also apparently someone came down from South Australia to the store and they weren't selling any at the time; around 4.30pm. They shuned him and took his details. 30 mins, later, when I arrived, they called him back. Pretty funny.
 
no luck at Southwharf JB, what they say is that they are looking at other people's prices, and to make sure JB's are lower, what a lovely excuse.

Hey peeps, just retired after a near 6 hr session. Grabbed a standard edition this arvo from Big W at Capalaba Central here in QLD. Just walked in grabbed it off the shelf and walked to the counter.

May have helped that it was 5.45pm and the store closed at 6pm, but it was the last of 11 stores i visited this afternoon.

Got home, installed......Ran the first 3 License Tests, a few Beginners Races in Sunday Cup and TT'd Suzuka East, finding out that there are currently no leaderboards.

Physics are great, more immersion than GT Academy Demo or GT5P, but very very enjoyable. Graphics didn't excite me as much as i was expecting, but it's all about the Physics for me anyways.

Anywho, enjoy the game guys, it looks like a monster of a thing that will take a very long time to finish.... off to bed for me, gotta get up in 4 hrs or so :(

So there's only two hours to go until GT5 is officially released. We are almost the last people on earth..

JB advertised midnight launches, so you could have gotten it 8 hours ago, at a pretty good price of only $79 as well.

No stores anywhere close to me in QLD had a midnight launch which is disappointing. Plus I have a SE payed for at EB.

Still, it's almost here.
 
My store opens in an hour, I will be leaving somewhat shortly :).
 
Have to wait till work finishes and then commute out of the city, then pick it up, then drive home...

1 hour and 5 mins to go till Harvey Norman opens... im walking around the house in circles with nothing better to do... common been waiting for years and finally down to the final hour, i will get some solid gaming in (once finally loaded to console lol) i dnt start work till 345pm... ill work tonight and have full intention to cough cough chuck a sicky tomorrow night ready for a weekend of racing.
