The headlight example you used reminded me of the rain in the windshield trailer. That was not fully indicative of the final product IMHO.

I tend to use PD's trailers as a "Vision" of what it should be. Not how it will be.

I hope to be wrong and the game looks as beautiful as the trailer, but then I don't suppose it would need a trailer if it did.

Yeah i know what you mean. In the trailers they spice it up with crazy amounts of anti aliasing and antistropic filtering and push the transparency effects to the max because it doesnt have to be rendered at real time speeds. Kaz has been mentioning about the improved way the light diffuses from the headlights though in the GT6. I guess i was just getting a bit too excited...:dopey:

7 new tracks over GT5 with Bathurst. Two of my favorite UK courses; Silverstone and Brands Hatch, alongside Goodwood (If this counts as a track). Apricot Hill in Kazunorikhestan (Remodeled, so it sorta counts), Willow Springs in Murica, Matterhorn in Switzerland and Bathurst in Australia :D

Apricot Hill is one of my favorite tracks. Back on topic: Can't wait to play GT6 with Bathurst coming with it. Honestly, I find this track really easy to race on NFS: Shift 2 with high powered cars.

I can't wait to buy me another Pink LFA and track it on Bathurst as I can't bring mine over to GT6 :grumpy:

Must drive the ( premium ) Calsonic R32 GTR or Winston R32 if it will be in GT6, at Mt Panorama in the rain :) I wish there will be Ford and Holden to beat

There always has to be pessimists like you eh? Always looking at the glass half empty. Can you not just be content with what PD has worked hard on?
I can, doesn't mean I must.

Now if you'll excuse me I need a refill. My glass is apparently looking half empty you see.

Bartender!

Time to get your blood pumping - we need more GT3 cars!
Main one missing are the Ferrari ones

1. Yippee yi yay, Yippee yi yo (Spiderbait-Ghost Riders in the sky) PS. if you play this song with the trailer, it actually matches up surprisingly well. Try it
2. That is so beautiful I almost broke down for a minute
3. This will be an epic forest track for nearly ANY car

What's a forest track?

Stoked that Bathurst finally made it into GT!

Hopefully they announce the inclusion of V8 Supercars at Bathurst next weekend (even a few would do!) but would also love for them to include this car...

Hopefully they have a stand at Bathurst next weekend. Only 7 sleeps left until the cars hit the track, I'm getting there Tuesday morning. Can't wait!!!!!

I'm sure they will :)

Waaheeeyyyyyyyy finally some new stuff, Stunning trailer and Time changes as well.

PD you nailed the track list, great line up.

Also now That's Bathurst in Forza 5 ,GT6 and I think it was announced recently for iRacing, such a great track that is going to get much more recognition now.

Yeah, I'm sure that Bathurst will be loved by many fans around the world. They might bring races like FIA GT Series, Blancpain Endurance Series & World Endurance Championship to Bathurst :D

from another forum

Ok, after having 2 laps around the mountain in a BMW Z4 GT3, this is what i can tell you, the track is much more narrow then any other interpretation of Bathurst i have ever seen and gives the actual impression you are driving on a country road.

The track is a real drivers track and is very easy to make mistakes, think of it like Spa and Monaco combined into one, this is the most detailed track i think PD have made so far as there is very notable surface changes in the track.

Also if you think Overtakes are going to be easy you will be gladly mistaken, even on conrod the narrowness is like the nordshliefe, you have to trust the driver your overtaking will stay to their side if you plan to make a move there.
Needed more force feedback to judge the car though(the G27 that was there had the lowest feedback setting and they wouldn't let me change it, I did however manage to get all the aids off before they saw me fiddling with it), but when i was able to read it, the BMW felt very composed I can feel its quite balanced.

This Model of Bathurst is very much to a simulator standard I will tell you that now, those that want a challenging track will like this.

People commenting on the track feeling narrow
Honestly it is pretty narrow in real life. Like public roads are, but feels even more so when in car

And here is where someone caught the PD crew scanning (Laser/GPS?) and surveying the track 1.5 years ago. There was a helicopter flying around around as well. Looks narrow here as well

I expect it to be feel much like the Nurb in terms of space and passing room, except with walls at the track edge so you won't be able to get two wheels up on the grass to complete a pass like you do at the Nurb sometimes. Passing here will be even more difficult than at the Nurb IMO. It'll be a great hotlapping track and great for league racing or in groups that have developed mutual respect and follow the GTP OLR or some similar code of conduct. I expect it'll be absolute carnage in open lobbies...:sly:

V8 Supercars are so boring and so far from their street counterparts, give us old 60's and 70's Bathurst racing cars instead!! Cars that were raced on sunday and driven to work on monday! Cars that you and I could buy from any dealership across Australia...

I miss the production based days too but I would never call the current V8 Supercars boring. It's one of if not the most exciting touring car series in the world. The cars are quick with big horsepower and low aero and they sound unreal!

It's a shorter track so in a 7 minute race there's going to be passing opportunities on the Front Straight, Mountain Straight and Conrod Straight for three different laps. That's more opportunities than you would get on your equivalent one-lap race at the Nordschliefe.

And thats what I mean about sticking to the racing line with the new physics model. You will have to yield a spot if you go too wide/shallow or cant scrub enough speed. :)

I just posted a link in the V8SC thread. I'm looking forward to see how close the lap times will be in GT6 compared to the lap record.
How important is 300km/h-plus down Conrod to a fast lap? Lowndes is the fastest man around Mount Panorama in a V8 Supercar, setting a 2min06.8012 in practice in 2010. The TeamVodafone Commodore VE was tapped out at ‘only’ 290km/h in sixth gear on that lap just before he lifted for the Chase.

We should not see any GT3 cars for that matter, running under 2minutes 4secomds either.

Passing is actually perfectly possible at Mt. Panorama, in my opinion it's much easier than on the Nordschleife. There are more heavy braking spots in a straight line. Bathurst is also much easier to remember and has an easier to learn rhythm.

I've driven it in several games now and never had issues with overtaking.

Yes, but you probably have some skill. There are plenty of people who are, let's say, less gifted at simulated driving, and will try to pass you at the most dangerous possible spot.

Well, when you mean the typical public lobby driver, then no track is wide enough.
Heck, even the parking-lot called Fuji is too narrow for these.

Straight over the top at Skyline, probably. Or the people who just try and straight-line The Chase.

Ugh, don't let me think about it. However it will be epic with some good racers.
